More whitewashing. Yianna, get real. Adoption does Not ALWAYS bring happiness to both sides. Sometimes it does and other times it brings abuse and other serious issues that lead to mental and emotional trauma to both the adopted, the adopting parents, and the other children in the adoptive families. Sometimes this is on the side of weakness in the adoptive parents and others on the side of major issues that show up as the adopted child matures. No different from anything else. That adoption is a cure all and is always good is a fairytale.

I'm a Zealot now? Make the same case for the unborn as you would for saving the rainforests, the whales and baby seals? I CHOOSE to be on the side of choosing life over death.... whether is be the unborn, saving the environment, the whales or baby seals. Why is it that you pro-choice people are always pro-choice until someone makes their own choice not to kill a human being? And who says that I am not a women who makes her own choices? I just choose to not harm others whether it be animal or human.

no there is a right and wrong, you can't chage that with your words, and there are consequences for every thing you do.

It couldn't be that open adoptions are on the rise and more women who would have contemplated abortion in the past are deciding to persue an open adoption. That would be too heart warming for that to be it. More people would be pro-life if they realized that adoption would bring happiness to both sides, those who are unexpetedly pregnant and those who long for a child and simply cannot have their own.

Women should be able to choose.

    • Posted By: Ithink4myself @ 01/17/2008 9:35:38 AM

God have us all the ability to choose. We make wrong choices sometimes. And we take the choice away from the unborn.

  • Posted By: peace and love @ 01/17/2008 9:22:57 AM

    i think for myself :

How dare you decide to choose what another woman does with her own body? IF you don't want an abortion, don't have one. I equally LOVE THOSE ANTI CHOICE THINKERS.

Wow... there you go again... you peace and love pro-choice thinkers.... so hypocritical.. until someone disagrees with you, and "CHOOSES" to be on the side of "CHOOSING LIFE" over death.

Disagreeing with me or anyone is a right that anyone has in this country. That does not mean that one is right and one is wrong. That is why choice is the only way to go. Abortion will continue until the end of time. It's vital that women are able to get safe medical care without religious zealots making choices for the rest of us. VOTE FOR PRO CHOICE CANDIDATES.

Wow: Robyn_leann, where have you been getting your information?... Bush has killed more children than have been killed by abortion? Why don't you start thinking for yourself by reading and getting the real facts? You obviously don't like Bush. That is your choice. But educate yourself, and get off the "Bush Hater Bandwagon"1. Those uninformed and ignorant individuals who can't quote real facts, just like to push their hate speaches.

Well, I disagree with peace and love. There are consequences for everything we do. And there always will be a right or wrong. I have young children so I am making a point to teach them that it is not true. That because something is wrong for me does not mean it has to be for you. You can try to shade in any issue you want. But the fact will always remain that Abortion is wrong, no matter if your alone, teenager, or as sad and hard to say raped. All of those issues and more does not change abortion to the ok area. There is a God and one day I will stand before him and give him account for everything I did. Already have so much to lower my head to. Not going to let people like you lie to me any more. I will stand strong and teach my children right from wrong. Look in your phone book under abortions and count all the places there are to help women mental and emotionally heal after having an abortion. We are about to see the damage of years of lying to our self, and women. And the sad thing is our children will be the ones that feel it the most. And you should think about who is going to be taking care of you when your older. Are they going to value you, treat you with kindness and respect that all humans should be treated with? Good luck, we have no respect for the weak they only get in our way. and by then you will be seen as no value. I hope this all makes sense I get so worked up, and I have two children trying to crawl all over me.

I was so glad to read what kenewton wrote, because God was exactly the first thing that sprang to my mind when I started reading this article. Statistics can't tell what each of these women is going through an unwanted pregnancy, but the Omnipotent knows, and perhaps this is a telling sign of a turnaround in the nation. And btw, abortion is NOT a political choice - ask any woman.

Robyn, you are really funny. I guess I was wrong. You have proved that we do need abortion in some cases. Edwards and Paul? You are a confused puppy. Edwards is a far left guy like you who believes the government is the answer to ALL our problems. Paul, on the other hand, is completely for minimal government. He wants to abolish the IRS. You need to take a break from all the drugs you are taking.

BTW, Robyn, you should use spell check also. OpportuinIty is spelled OPPORTUNITY.

Really curious about these findings. Many things could have promoted this. May be there are less females of child bearing years. MAybe people are opting for other activities other than sex. Maybe contraceptives are being used. Who knows? It would take years to determine the reason or reasons. Myself, I think God is at work here. Can non believers prove me wrong? Newsweek can't.

they are down because young mothers are desideing to have the child and there are many gov. progams in place that offer care ect. to the young womanect free day care .free supplies.they can't do enough for the unmarried still in school mom and most of them go on to have 2 or 3 kid because it's easyfree medical, free day care why not have a kid?the fathers don't take care of them all they want is to move on to the next one .don't get me wrong i'am not for abortions.it makes me sad the broken home;s and the loss of family that the next generation of children and the hardships it places on grandparents that have to pick up the slack

Robyn, the previous poster is right. You are an idiot, but you do spell really well though. You are proof that a piece of paper doesn't make a person any smarter. You can't be very smart to say things like Bush's father paid for his grades. That is just leftist, brainwashed baloney. Do you have proof of that accusation? War never makes sense? Boy, you are digging yourself deeper and deeper. Tell that to the colonists who fought the British so that you have the freedom today to write your moronic comments in a free society. Better yet, tell that to the slaves in 1863. Quit while you are ahead and not make yourself sound any sillier.

The article is interesting and, not surprisingly, both ends of the political spectrum are taking credit. Just as laws against murder, arson, etc. do not prevent the crinme from being committed, outlawing abortion (as we've seen in the past) does not prevent abortions from occurring. Was the incidence of 'back-alley' abortions a consideration in this study with regard to the lower abortion rate?

LJ238 you should use spell check. Now I went to college and graduated with MBA magna *** laude, so I do have an education. Bush graduated because his father paid for his grades. Abortion is a tool of an educated society as well as prevention. War never makes sense and Bush picked the wrong country. 18 or the 19 hijackers were Saudis. Bush owns oil wells and a $100 a barrel is a nice pension plan for being a war criminal president who is killing our innocent children, especially since they didn't have an opportuinity to attend college and are lured into a pyscho path's web.

All people are born precious unto the Lord. Everyone! When a women is thinking of aborting a baby it is important for her to ask God to lead her in His truth.

  • Posted By: LJ238 @ 01/17/2008 8:23:42 AM

are you kidding? your comment is one of the most uneducated, idiotic things i've ever read. bush is against abortion, yes. and you post this as if it's a negative thing. he doesn't want innocent babies lives taken from their mother's wombs. i hate to be the one to tel you, but this is an admirable cause. to compare abortion to the war is an insane argument that doesn't make sense. to compare him to hiter because we are fighting a war that MANY others supported, including hilary clinton, is absolutely ridiculous. why don't you try living in another country if you feel that bush is like hitler. i promise you that you'll be back b/c in other countries you could be killed for even posting something like you did. you should think before you speak. hitler killed millions of jews just for being jewish. america is fighting a war against radicals that will one day have the power and resources to destroy us if we don't try to stop them. there is no comparison.
