Comment: Old men declare war because they have failed to solve complex political and economic problems. ??? Arthur Hoppe

Or because it's an extremely profitable enterprise, even when "we" lose. (Vietnam and Iraq share many similarities, including the enormous, really obscene profits they generated for certain "American interests").

So this is what a mainstream media outlet looks like...could it possibly be any shallower, any fluffier, any more misdirecting? How is it that Perot's POW/MIA experience isn't mentioned in connection with McCain, while all this superficial celebrity "Last time I talked to John...gosh, Ross has these really big ears" crap is the heart of the piece? Let's face it, folks, they're all whores: the politicians, the "journalists"--everyone associated with the political process in America is a lying sack of...well, you know. And you do know this.

And yet you still get sucked into voting for the right wing or the left wing of the Party, arguing the relative merits of "our representatives" when you don't even have a democracy to begin with. We used to laugh about the Soviet Union's one-party elections--are we really so much more sophisticated when we know that the same coffers sponsor both "sides" in our elections? Or did we imagine there were no strings attached?

Here are a few modest suggestions for actual, substantive political discourse in this land of collective make believe (and no, they will never, ever be addressed, a sure sign of their validity):

    * the drug war~~why are drugs illegal? what's the cost/benefit analysis? who profits and how from the prohibition, especially on cannabis? (Dr. Melamede's "Harm Reduction: the Cannabis Paradox" http://www.harmreductionjournal.com/content/2/1/17 is both an eye and a mind-opener, as is any old link to the prison economy http://impiousdigest.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=72 )

    * secrecy~~what are the (theoretical) checks & balances on the apparatus of the National Security State? (Okay, it's a trick question because there are none. Zero. Not operationally, not budgetary...nothing. My favorite quote here comes from a senator, but it could just as well describe the conscience of a nation:

In 1956, when Senator Mike Mansfield sought to establish a joint oversight committee on intelligence, Senator Leverett Saltonstall, advocating the ostrich???s position noted, ???It is not a question of reluctance on the part of CIA officials to speak to us. Instead, it is a question of our reluctance, if you will, to seek information and knowledge on subjects which I personally, as a Member of Congress and as a citizen, would rather not have??? (cited in Britt Snider monograph).

Good luck, America! (Oh, one last link to the war hero's other biography: http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=8221 )

Comment: Lincoln, unfortunately, did not include the Civil War in his platform and I for one would probably not have voted for him if he had. Makes me wonder what Obama could really be planning with an unrepentant terrorist, a bigot pastor and a Mafia connection.

Comment: If you want to know more about POWs - and possibly why Perot feels as he does - read: "Soldiers of Misfortune: Washington's Secret Betrayal of American POWs in the Soviet Union" by James D. Sanders, Mark A. Sauter, and R. Cort Kirkwood and "The Men We Left Behind: Henry Kissinger, the Politics of Deceit and the Tragic Fate of POWs after the Vietnam War" by Mark A. Sauter and James D. Sanders. "The Men We Left Behind" regarding the Senate Select Committee on POWs convinced me that John McCain is not presidential material. This leaves me no one for whom to vote for the first time in my life. I will not be voting for president.

Comment: Mr Perot is in my opinion a much more moral and intelligent person to continue to further politics. Instead he should contact Wei Chen, Ph. D. Assistant Professor, Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington and read as well as fund ???Improved X-ray Stimulated Photodynamic Therapy for Cancer Treatment???. Not only would he be unvailing a cancer CURE but, also be helping to save an old friends life. Margaret Purifoy Walker

Comment: In your article, you mentioned that the Obama "pledge" email was a "fraud". However, it was the star spangled banner that he did not cover his heart. Required protocol? No, but IF you are running for president, AND you want my vote, you better damn sure put your hand over your heart. Every other candidate was already doing this. This is a problem for Obama. He lost my vote when that happened.

Comment: I agree with the statement by the True Texan "There's only "a dime's worth of difference" between the Republican and Democratic parties, and they're fighting over that dime! " The leaders of both the Republican and Democratic Parties are moving us closer and closer to Socialism, away from our Constitution (the true Test of American Patriotism).
Both major parties pushed through the Patriot Act (a direct violation of our civil liberties) allowing the Federal government (and the law makers) greater access into our personal lives. We have welfare, medicare, and medicaid, all basically federal government subsidies for Americans as a socialist distribution of wealth and commodities. Then, we have the continuation of an undeclared War policy (a direct violation of our Constitution), allowing the President (or socialist leader) the ability to unilaterally decide whether our country (our Americans) go fight in another country using military resources and costing voluntary military lives. Combined with the new Pre-emptive war doctorine, the U.S. Federal government now decides when and where we (the American people) go to war based on their own justification.
The very core values of America that the founding fathers of our country laid out for us are being destroyed, and our nation is moving in a perilous direction. The American people need to Wake up from their Slumber, and start helping educate their fellow Americans that we are not Socialists, but in fact we are a Nation of Patriots (people who live by and die for civil liberty as well as individual rights).
Our country sorely needs a third party that will rejuvinate and unify the 40% of Americans that usually don't vote, to overcome the two party system of the Socialist Democrats and Socialist Republicans. Individuals always care for other individuals through charity and good deeds, the Federal government steals from individuals to line the pockets of the Corporations and maintain power for itself.

Comment: It saddens me to see that our polotics are run by the media and real truth never gets out about the candidates. Senator McCain has a terrible temper that is well known on the hill and they refer to it as his being a "maverick". Do you want a president that flies off the handle during meetings? Or do you want someone that can listen to all input and then make a rational decision? McCain has taken his temper out on the families of the POW/MIAs. Why does he treat the families like they are the enemy? As a former POW why doesn't have any compassion for those that may still be alive in Southeast Asia and the families search for the truth?

Comment: Pretty amazing that no one here has thought to question why this writer -- and the Newsweek editors -- aren't acting out the "liberal media" stereotype. What makes Ross Perot's opinion worth reporting the moment he offers it, without any balancing views? Following the accusations already made, this should mean that Newsweek has a conservative bias, and is attempting to influence the outcome of the Republican primary Super Tuesday.

Then again, it's dissapointing that someone who sees himself as an opinion maker (and Newsweek clearly agrees...) hasn't bothered to educate himself on ALL the candidates. I guess that means Perot will vote for WHOEVER the Republicans nominate, since his comments show he know little to nothing about anyone but McCain v. Romney.

Normalizing relations with Vietnam benefitted big business. It's not a Republican or Democratic thing, it's a money thing, and the POWs were left in favor of the mighty dollar. Same for NAFTA. I'm in Texas, and it was and still is a stupid idea. Only big business benefits. Small businesses have been destroyed because they cannot compete with the cheap labor and the lack of regulatory oversight Mexico offers. Meanwhile, Mexico's [unsafe] trucks run on our highways, transporting hazardous materials, and dumping them illegally, leaving it up to the U.S. to clean up the mess.

Most of the first generation Vietnamese refugees that came here because their country was lost became Republicans -- it was a matter of loyalty for them. They believed it was the Republicans who saved them and their families. They tried to show their loyalty by sharing what they knew about our POWs and were thanked and ignored. When normalization was proposed, they fought it tooth and nail. Normalizing relations with people who had murdered their families? NOT. Then they saw who was supporting normalization, and were shocked and disillusioned that those good solid businesspeople they'd admired, looked up to, and tried to emulate weren't about justice, just dollars.

And how does that work? We normalize relations with Vietnam, we give most favored nation status to China, and work on North Korea, but we won't talk to Cuba? We've had wars against the first three, directly and indirectly, within the not-too-distant past. We haven't been in Cuba since Teddy Roosevelt. But Cuba is the smallest, the poorest on the list, so I guess it's still a money thing, not a political thing.

There's only "a dime's worth of difference" between the Republican and Democratic parties, and they're fighting over that dime!

Read. Listen. Learn from our history and that of other nations. We don't have the time or resources to make all our own mistakes, so we really need to get on the stick and learn from others' mistakes when we can! If we are willing to listen and learn, maybe we can pull ourselves out of this mess yet. I sure hope so.

I had to go to the internet to find out if he had withdrawn or not! Also to get Mr. Perot's take on McCain, the media's choice for the Republican candidate. Why has Mr. Perot not publicly endorsed Romney, since he sees McCain's flaws more clearly than anyone else? Or has he made such endorsement, and the press has suppressed the news?

Comment: Everything that ails this country can be brought into perspective and tied to one single item. The 16th Amendment to The U.S. Constitution. I'm 48 years old and I have lived my entire life in slavery, how so?
Our precious God given rights, liberties and freedoms and were sold in the middle of the night when our once participatory government decided to become the tyrant. In an act that was so criminal and so underhanded that it set the corner stone of the suedo, shadow government we have today instead of the peoples government. With income tax, the all powerful enslaving US Government gave itself the means to enslave the public economically by growing itself and stealing from the working class.
The 16th Amendment to the Constitution was never fully or properly ratified and by 3/4 of the States. For example Pennsylvania ignored it. Many State legislatures illegally went against their own state constitutions and illegally ratified it.
Now today you have a overbloated tax and spend hog that is incapable of balancing anything and is out of control and little by little squeezing the rights and freedoms out of the American SHEEPLE thats right sheeple, It is no longer a government of the people, by the people and for the people. It is a government of the government, by the government and for the government.
In 1913 in the middle of the night the United States ceased to exist. it was replaced by a self serving, tyrannical and out of control PIG.
Repeal the 16th Amendment and th egovernment will shrink back to a proper size and unable to squander out income. If any company (Eron for example) conducted business and misshandled finances like our government does, then th ecompany woudl be out of business and its executive officers in prison.
Throw out the two party system and repeal the 16th amendment and watch how quickly freedoms torch burns again.

Comment: We need to elect Dr. Ron Paul to cure us of our fiscal "cancer". Just last July, David Walker, the U.S. Comptroller General told CBS News that America's financial situation is like a "cancer", that if left untreated, would "have catastrophic consequences for our country". He decried that lack of information and leadership available. Well, Ron Paul does tell America the truth and he has a plan to restore our nation. Vote Ron Paul!

John has served his country honorably for years and it is my hope that he will also serve as our President. I would be proud and honored to sit at the same table with him - anytime!

Ross Perot has been a wonderful friend and supporter of all of the POWs who served in Vietnam. I admire and respect him, and am grateful to him for his dedication and support. Ross is however wrong in this instance. I am sorry to see him take such action. And I am very sorry to see his choice of timing.

Comment: I was teaching Government, World History and American History in Texas when Perot ran for President. I was a registered Republican at that time, BUT when Perot made the pronouncement that when he was elected, he would make sure the Senate would do what he told them or he would fire them. Since I was teaching Government, I did understand that he did not understand how the Constitution of the United States worked and that as President was not the CEO of the US and could fire elected officials at will. As a result, I did not vote for him or the Republican.
By the way, his landmark school reforms were instituted under his 'leadership' in a less than 10 day special Legislative Session, completed less than a month before school opened, and we had to implement ALL of them that school year. There were some things that were good, such as the NO-PASS NO-PLAY but we had to completely rewrite curriculum to the state curriculum that was designed by non-educators who had no idea what we could do within their framework. That was also the year of the "Teachers' Exam" that would show who were competent teachers. I am a graduate of Purdue Univerisity and I resented taking what amounted to a literacy test..and the cost to the state and to the morale of the teachers. Less than 3 percent of the teachers failed the test.
Ross Perot is an excellent businessman but he does wear blinders when anything is not to his liking or desires.

Comment: Thank you for your input for a couple reasons: Simply put, it made sense and it points out a very tangible byproduct of headstrong businessmen. He would not be the first example of a successful businessman assuming, "I was successful here so if I apply what I did here to there, that will be successful too."

Please don't worry about any typos here. Your point and writing is so coherent that you could mistype 50% of the words and it would be a delight to read in the midst of the drivel that some put here.

It is too bad that successful people like Perot (don't get me wrong, some do) are often not able to stand back an attack the new task with fresh eyes. Sometimes the lose contact with exactly what the qualities were that actually changed their environment and world???their fervor, insight to the problem at hand, persistence, character. Instead they often get headstrong and assume that they have somehow tapped into the Pandora's box of knowledge and now can fix everything by doing the same things again.

      Thanks for posting.

Comment: The Obama scandal is real, but it was explained wrong in that original bogus email. The hand over heart picture has nothing to do with the pledge of allegiance. That part of the story is an internet lie. But the picture DOES really show what was happening during the playing of the national anthem, and it is still valid documentation that Obama has some kind of personal issue with respecting this nation. Explain why every other person on that stage knew to put their hand over their heart. And it remains a REAL scandal that Obama did not. Its also a violation of the US flag code. I don't accept Obama's excuse that his grand-pappy taught him to sing instead, or any other lame excuse. The other people on that stage knew what to do, and Obama is not a dumb guy. The photo says it all. The national anthem is playing, and our prominent government figures are placing their hands over their hearts... except for Obama who chose to show his respect for our national anthem by placing his hands over his crotch. To me that is a subtle way of disrespecting this nation, its traditions, and its honor for which Obama remains unapologetic.

    • Posted By: LetsReason @ 01/19/2008 13:50:27

Comment: I find it entertaining how someone can write some 250 words tearing a guy down, suggest everyone else should do the research he has and then erroneously explain EVERYTHING. US flag code (which means absolutely nothing these days) and the National Anthem (that supposedly they are singing in the picture) are not connected. I hear the National Anthem played and I am directed by US Flag code to stand and put my hand over my heart? Get real. There is no scandal. The man can be one of the best presidents in the history of the country and never have put his hand over he heart for the Pledge of Allegiance or the singing of the National Anthem.

It is simply FOOLISH to think that someone's value, intentions and worth are derived from whether they comply with the preconceived notions of what makes a person patriotic and good. Vote for what you think the man can and will do for the country. You'd rather be fooled by a facade than an honest person.

Is it possible he raised his hand to his heart after the shutter was snapped? Someone help this country.

Comment: LetsReason ought to be changed to "LetsGetAClue" because this episode was not only captured on a shutter camera, but was filmed with video and sound. You can hear the national anthem in the background (if your ears work) and can see Obama never lift a hand towards his heart like everyone else during the entire duration (if your eyes work). However since you are so ready to dismiss the whole thing because you imagine the camera just happened to miss Obama suddenly becoming patriotic, then your brain just doesn't work. If Obama is supposed to be such a smart guy, and did the wrong thing here, and is unapologetic for it even now... then what really IS his problem with displaying the same patriotism as eveyrone else running for President? Perhaps if you served in the military you would be more aware of tradition, as well as loyalty to the flag and everything it stands for. The liberal left is always so willing to do cartwheels finding excuses for their favorites rather than EVER holding someone acountable for their own actions. Pathetic.

      • Posted By: bambam @ 01/21/2008 12:01:27

Comment: You are reaching for straws trying hard to overlook obvious problems. There was no "shutter" moment missing Obama suddenly becoming patriotic. There is video of the whole event on the internet. Not just a momentary photo. You can actually hear the national anthem (if your ears were open) and you can see that Obama never showed a hint of the patriotism shown by everyone else on that state (if your eyes are open), and you can understand the conflicting spin Obama's camp is trying to put on this episode that just doesn't add up (if your brain was working). But since you have chosen to ignore any logical review of this issue, and choose to follow Obama right or wrong because your talking points were written that way, then there is no helping you. For those of us who have served in the military, and who have actually done the work to protect our freedoms, we need to be as concerned about Obama's allegiances as his blindly forgiving minions.

Does that sound like a good strategy to get elected? All he would have to do is just put his hand on his heart for 12 months and put on a smile and salute the flag and he's elected. But no. Obama is so unpatriotic and such an American Hater Commie Islamo Fascist that he let some of his true loyalties out at a rally. Wow! He is dedicated to hating America.

Right that's going to go a long way towards getting one's self elected.

What if he had put his hand on his heart but not taken off his hat? Does that mean intellectually he disrespects America but in his heart still believes there is good?

What if he had forgotten to stand but took off his hat and put his hand on his heart. Does that mean he loves the country but he wouldn't stand up to defend it?

Let me guess when you get home from work and don't kiss your spouse they instantly assumes you did it out of disrespect and are having an affair?

From the looks of it, sounds very applicable here. We have no idea what Obama did after the picture was snapped or the music was even playing. Your reasoning, and the reasoning of your other identity, is flawed and I sure hope people voting do a better job of looking at who a person is rather than falling in line with propoganda.

Secondly, you have no evidence that Senator Obama is a muslim, and even if he were, why is that a problem. Have you considered that instead of "appeasing the black community", he may be a candidate because he is eloquent, intelligent, and an effective leader with progressive ideas. This country was founded on religious freedom, not zealotry and hatred. A question: Have you heard Senator Obama speak, or are you assuming his positions on issues based on what others have said about him? Please post a response...

Will you look at your muslim neighbors the same? Who cares what color an inexperienced 3yr. senator is? Terrorists' objectives could be achieved by us electing a muslim pres. Do you want to take the chance that obama's heart is in the right place? What if Douggie is right and we elect obama. oops. Hell, let's just re-elect Bill. Then we can let them blow up more of N.Y. like in 93. Bill is very elequent. Since when is that an attribute for which we should choose our leader? THis country was founded on Christian beliefs by CHristians searching for freedoms to worship Jesus in their own way. this country was certainly founded with zealotry-- look it up. Are ther no other candidates with progressive ideas? Have you listened to all of them? Do you like the IRS? In its beginning the IRS was a progressive idea, as were many other mistakes our government has gambled on. Sure, we need a change. Change is a gamble. But we must consider the risk involved. And your idiotic statement and implication, "All muslims read the same book" is really convenient for you right now. How about the 100,000s and millions who participated in the Crusades that resulted in the murder and death of many? Those Christians all read the same book. Oh wait, at that time, they did not educate their followers or write the text in a language they could read...even if they could read.

Pick your time and pick your history to suite YOUR needs. How convenient. Listen to what the candidates say, not what any idiot with a computer can rumor about on the internet.

    Comment: In response to JimPearce222:

Immigrant labor is a necessary part of the economies of Southern California and South Texas, legal or not. Several industries, particularly hotels and restaurants, are heavily staffed by immigrants, some of them illegal. Without immigrant labor, these industries would be severly understaffed, and I believe, would find it difficult to fill these jobs. There is a supply of immigrant labor, because companies have a demand for it. Also, in your comment, you failed to state why employment of illegal immigrants is negative. If there is a demand for the labor, a lack of substitute labor, and the employment of immigrants is necessary to continue operation of the businesses it supports, what are the negative effects? The services and products consumers demand are provided in the ways, and at the prices, demanded as a result of immigrant labor. Without this labor, businesses in the previously mentioned regions would suffer profit loss, and consumers would find that the services and products they demand may be in short supply. Please post a response...

      Comment: Friend,

Labor by illegal immigrants is illegal: That means it is prohibited by the rule of law in the United States of America. Rest assured, that with a population of 300 million, we can find Americans who need work; and without illegal competition, these service jobs will pay more. Americans citizens should not have to compete with illegal aliens for American jobs. You don't have to worry your head about hotels and restaurants suffering profit loss - if they are viable, they WILL make a profit. The United States is a sovereign nation; and right now, it is over 9 TRILLION dollars in debt. We have almost 50 million Americans without health insurance; we have roads and bridges in serious need of repair; we have an agency called FEMA in need of competent management; we have a 900 billion dollar war to fund in a country that Al-Quaida wasn't even found in on 9/11. They project that Social Security won't be there for our children. Now, explain to me again, why we need to add 33 million (counting dependents) illegal aliens to our failing social services network - and yes, they certainly do use our courts, jails, schools, hospitals, roads, and soon, Social Security. You can't dig yourself out of a hole. Illegal aliens need to take a ticket and a seat, and get in-line behind the other immigrants who are already legally in-line trying to come to America. Cutting in-line is not to be encouraged in a nation that follows the rule of law: Doing so only encourages even MORE illegal immigration. That's my response...

Without the labor provided by immigrants, legal or not (but mainly not), Southern California's economy would be crippled. The economies of cities in South Texas and Southern California are inextricably linked to immigrant labor. The truth of the matter is, we need immigrant labor to maintain favorable economic conditions in several industries in these areas. Please post a response...

Solution: If Americans did not hire illegal immigrants there would not be a problem.
Actively prosecute those who hire illegal???s with a minimum sentence of 1 year without reduction of time for any reason. End of immigration problem!

Solution: Aerial spray all Poppy plant fields to kill the plants. Loss of drug money would significantly reduced holy war efforts by terrorist. Teach farmers in Afghanistan to grow other crops that would sustain them.

    Iraq: Solution:
Take enough of their oil to pay for the expenses of our efforts to help them. Leave immediately upon getting at least ?? of our money back ??? there is no viable solution!
Begin immediately to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. Begin immediately to build 5 new refineries in the US. Reduce our foreign oil dependence from the current 60% to 20% within the next 10 years ??? make it our National Goal- agreed upon by Congress and the President.

Comment: Immigration: Problem - illegal immigrants often have good false documents. Impossible for employers sometimes to determine if individual is immigrant or not. Also increased paperwork and increased cost to businesses as well as an increase in the size of the government to enforce. All contrary to the conservative agenda. Human rights activists would also point out that this would leave only one choice for businesses: don't risk hiring latinos.

Afghanistan: Problem - Farmers turn to Taliban for support in order to feed their families. We lose war.

Iraq: Problem - Iraqis are incensed that the foreign invaders are stealing their oil revenues and insurgency resurfaces. Iraq devolves into failed state controlled by the extremists. Even worse than leaving now.

Drilling in Alaska: Problem - Oil doesn't show up for 10-20 years in the economy by which point it's pretty much useless.

Problem: People who think that every world problem has a really simple, easy to understand solution and Rush Limbaugh knows it. That the world isn't a complicated place with varrying shades of gray which often can't be solved by common sense and a highschool education.

Comment: I totally agree with CNPTEXAS, about Obama. The terrorists, as you recall, openly said they would destroy
the United States from the "inside out". What better way to do that than to elect a Muslim as president and
also for congress. They refuse to take their oath of office on the Bible as all AMERICANS before them! Obama says he is not a Muslim but a Christian.. If so, he should readily take his oath on the Bible. Also,
who has actually conducted any "true" research to verify his religion? It is correct that Romney has been
scrutinized for being a Morman. I have read the book of Morman (as I used to date a girl who was Morman)
and I don't agree with all their doctrine, but one thing for sure, he exhibits something this country needs right now, and that is emphasis on family values. My dentist is Morman and he's a fine fellow and has a wonderful family. My main point is this: When have you ever heard of a Morman strapping bombs to themselves and blowing themselves up, along with many of their own people just t be a martyr and also using their little children to do the same. They say "Well, all Muslims aren't that radical". Give me a break! The American people, I hope, have more sense than that.! It's time our country started working to regress
back to the morals, standards and, yes,, the religious foundation on which it was founded. That's why THERE IS and AMERICA! People came her so that they could worship God, our creator, freely. I pray for our
country daily. Also, I pray for President Bush and his family. He is a fine man, but has been misinformed about some situations and he has taken the blame and responsibility for it, rather than lettiing his people
be "destroyed" by the media. Also, men like Romney, Huckabee and others who are more than glad to share
their faith those who want to know more about them. How many times have you heard anything more from
Obama other than "I am a Christian". Or have you heard him talk about getting back to the place where kids
could pray in school or have Nativity scene on our front lawn. Or, to follow the precepts of brotherly love and fellowsip as our forefathers did and so many Americans have fought to support. Being a disabled American
Veteran, from the Vietnam era, it actually apppalls me that we wou ld even have a candidatek (Obama)
competing to be the leader of this country (just because of his skin color). to appease the black population .
Well, that's enough for now. I would only say, America, wake up and look at what/who stands before you
and make a decidion you can live with. Me? Should he be the candidate, my vote is for Huckabee!

McCain, as a US Senator ought to do as a Statesman, should vote on principle and go against party lines for THE COMMON GOOD and POLITICAL COMPROMISE. If the American POW was too sick to resist and revolt, he probably wasn't a very good worker. If he was healthy enough to work hard, he would find a way to escape eventually, and the world would storm in. I always figured if anyone still kept a POW around, they would be much safer to just shoot the poor POW and bury the evidence. I mean, some of these guys believe there are STILL prisoners over there. Comment: I knew that would bring more of you whining liberals out of the closet! Pun intended. Firstly, I did not say "close the borders to non-Christians" You said that. I said close the borders to terrorist countries. How you misconstrued terrorist defense or Christianity to equal racism must be due to your esteemed education. I would vote for Condi if she was on the ballot. The only thing I have against obama is his possible link to terrorist beliefs. Look up JIHAD bonehead. We're the target. The only good thing about obama is that he might keep hitlary (pun intended) off the ballot. Diversity is the name of an organization that you probably belong to. Moslums believe in that "same god" theory as a means of conversion to islam. Jews and Christians do not believe this. Uneducated, diverse liberals like to believe this so they have no reason to believe at all. It's easier. Who do you think John McCain was praying to aboard his burning craft, drowning and beat up, or in prison? It wasn't allah or god. It was God. I'm glad his prayers were answered. That does not mean he would make a better pres. I think Perot is vengeful and licking old wounds. He would could have balanced the budget but probably not much more. If Perot did help Clinton get into the whitehouse, he caused more harm than if he had been elected himself. If my posts are offensive to you, you must fit some of my offensive descriptions fo the very people bringing this country to ruin. Stand up for yourself instead of letting somebody else(or your government handouts) do it for you. Soldier for Christ and patriot for America. Some more education wouldn't hurt your ilk at all. God bless you for all our sakes.

Comment: No soldier. Just a person with plenty of time to write crap on a Newsweek board. I find it sad, and somewhat scary, that people look to the Bible as an answer for the existence of a god and yet are most likely 110% clueless to how it came about and the history associated with it. Fine, if believe in a god causes you to be considerate and helpful to you fellow man, by all means, read and practice it every day!! But please! Truly an idiot to put forth the "Christian" idea of god is absolutely right for no more reason than it feels good in your chest when you think about it. The Muslim who dies blowing himself/herself up is exercises universes more faith than you, soldier.

We have a "soldier of god" in the White House now and we also have a big mess. God didn't give him all the answers, did he? And how the hell do you know what McCain did in those circumstances. Because he said so? I'd believe a fellow prisoner saying that he helped them, but your trying to get inside his head from some 40 years ago to somehow lend credence to your diatribe is just more nonsense.

Comment: wow, you people (soldier, thscd) are morons....its shocking how dumb your posts are and how offensive. Do you honestly believe you are acting in a Christian manner at all? Do you have any comprehension of the teachings of Islam? Are you actually stating (in your illiterate, unclear posts) that Obama could not choose as an adult to follow Christ? Because his father was Muslim, he is somehow "tainted". Go back to 100 years ago, when your ignorant viewpoint was accepted by others with equivalent sub-20 IQ's. Next you'll be telling us that you have scientific evidence that African-Americans have smaller brains or some of the other hogwash spouted by ignorant and hate-filled religious leaders throughout history, or the Nazis. Maybe we should deport all idiots like you two.

Comment: Boy, a nerve was touched...seems like someone has blinders on, and that someone may be a reverse racist, filled with the hate he says he looks down on others for having...if someone was raised by a Muslim extremist, and went to a Muslim school in his youth, you bet we should be investigating this man! I wouldn't want an, "Oops!" on this one! This is for the Presidency of The United States! The Muslim extremists say they are going to get their people on the 'inside'. They will 'hide' who they are to get in. Just becasue someone is a Christian, does'nt mean we should be so kind, we're stupid!

His farther is still a Muslim, you can't change your stripes of your past! Do I trust him NO he is has no experience and is not a leader or someone who will bring this country together. ,Only guilt liberal racists will vote for him! the Republican party is far more diverse than Demonicrats, who is using race? Comment: Perot was right about one thing. When he said NAFTA would create a "giant sucking sound as American jobs went south", he wasn't blowing smoke up our posteriors. Between that and slimy greedy scum sucking bas-ards hiring ILLEGALS here, the American worker is going through a large supply of KY jelly.
But the buzzards are coming home to roost. When no one here has jobs and the people in these countries were big business finds cheap labor can' afford what they produce, who's going to be left to pick the last pieces of meat from the carcass?
As for the POW issue, i tend to give McCain some slack. I have no idea how much or little the man was a hero, but i know unlike a lot of these loudmouths he was there. He didn't sit it out in HAR________VARD!!!! What the man went through on the deck of the aircraft carrier fire is enough to earn my respect.
So i give people like Ross Perot high marks for being honest enough to tell people the hard facts. Problem here is no one wants to hear it. They would rather hide that old head in the sand and hope it goes away.

Comment: Lets reason! You don't even have a reason. This country was founded on Christian belief. You can reason that out by reading the constitution or gradeschool books. I don't care what obama claims to be today. He went to a muslim (kill the infadels-- that's us) school, and his dad is a muslim. That's enough for me. I say close borders to terrorist countries and deport muslims. People who don't believe in JesusChrist the living God do not believe in a god. They believe in the only true God. I wouldn't vote for anyone who is not Christian. They would probably be devoid of morals and common sense like "Lets reason". Believe it or not this country is still predominately Christian and I would like to keep it that way. Who the hell is ron paul? nevermind. Read history on the worldwide liberal movement. It is really the communist agenda. Start with the revalution in Russia in the early 1900s. Liberal governments are the only ones the communists can take without force. It takes a few elections but it works. That is what happened to Russia and now England. With the help of some whining liberals in the U.S. we'll be next . Praise Jesus. Huck for pres.

Comment: Let me understand your convenient reasoning: In one post you are claiming this country was based on Christian beliefs and another you are derailing people as racist yet ignore that history shows these "Christian Founding Fathers" were slave owners. Don't worry, we'll let your idiocy on that topic go this time.
