Wow, doesn't anybody read the constitution? It prohihbits any religious test from being a requirement for federal office.

It Obama isnt Muslim why did he take his oath of office with his hand on the koran not the bible? Hmmmm make you think doesn't
That's a lie. HE USED A BIBLE. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2007/dec/20/chain-email-gets-obama-religion-wrong/
I love how easily the weak minded believe anything they hear on the internet. If Obama is Muslim or didn't put his hand on the bible, then Bush planned 9/11; JFK and Elvis are both alive and UFOs are using their psychic powers to control dummies like CPNTEXAS
In selecting your Presidential candidate, please reflect on the dire consequences of a docile retreat before a relatively small band of Islamic extremists; and, attempt to formulate your own opinion as to the most prudent course of action in the defense of our Nation. It might assist to consider the following scenario: the infiltration of a group of terrorists similar to the Atta cabal with a quantity of weaponized anthrax procured from a rogue state; the acquisition of a single crop-duster aircraft fitted with a dry-agent disseminator; and, the dispersal of that dangerous toxin over an American population center. The loss of American life would be catastrophic. -Or-, is it preferable to pre-empt such fanatics by destroying them on their home turf, such as Afghanistan and Iraq, before they secure the capacity to threaten our homeland? The latter is in fact a key element in current American strategy. Is it advisable to support any candidate who would reverse course and sacrifice the impressive gains against Islamofacists that young Americans have shed their precious blood to achieve? The fact that we have not experienced another 9/11 is not a by-chance occurrence. Further, it's critical to appreciate the pivotal role that our own border security plays in our "war against terrorism". A Nation without enforceable borders will not long survive as a Nation.
Greg Neubeck
I agree with the remark that hitting them at home is a strategic component of a viable defense. But I am continuously wary of those kinds of arguments leading to the justification of attempting to create a democratic state in Iraq. We can effectively bomb and attack these camps and countries who support the terrorist groups without putting 100,000s of troops in harm's way (or the billions of dollars needed to support them).
And I agree with the respondents that followed as well. Killing the bad guys cannot be a reason for sending the country into a depression/recession. You will still give victory to the desires of the enemy and have made the entire country suffer. There can be a balance and I'm pretty sure that this administration (or McCain's) are interested in that balance.
Another "key element in current American strategy" is to continually give Saudi Arabia, an intensely corrupt regime that advocates Islamofascism and is the largest sponsor of the extremists that attacked us and continued to attack us, massive weapons packages and open support of their oppressive oligarchy in exchange for cheaper oil. Are any of your (presumably Republican) candidates addressing this gaping hole in "current American strategy?"
Terrorism is a real and infinitessimally tiny threat. The very real threat of imminent Depression due to the weak dollar and sub-prime crisis and price of oil are are real and huge threats. In selecting your Presidential candidate, select them with a sense of proportion as to their willingness and ability to deal with the real and huge threats that we know for certain are huge and real and imminent if we continue the Republican "stick your head in the sand and send a trillion dollars to fight a war we started based on lies" policies. Spend money in proportion to the threat.
It Obama isnt Muslim why did he take his oath of office with his hand on the koran not the bible? Hmmmm make you think doesn't
Because that was Ellison that did that. Obama's Koran still has a Bible cover on it....
Perot makes a good point. McCain is without a doubt an opportunist. But I would say, to one degree or another, that every Politician is an opportunist. I still wouldn't back McCain, as he might silently harbor slanted military and defense views directly related to his Vietnam war days. Opportunists often times will use an opportunity to gain political clout and in turn use that power to feed there true ideas and views.

I'm voting for Hillary. And who cares who was her husband's girlfriend. He still did a lot of good for this country. We had jobs then and a balanced budget and we were in the black. Now with 10 trillion in debt Bubba Jr. Is a train wreck and he is taking this country with him. He and his daddy believe in the "New World Order" and THAT is a scary thought. He also signed papers on the sligh implementing the North American Union something. I didn't get the whole name but is goes hand in hand with NAFTA. I know BIll Clinton implemented this act but I don't think or at least I'd like to think, how it is being put in to action is what he meant it to be.
I worked for Perot Systems from 1997 to 2000 as a Systems Analyst/Software Developer. It was widely known that Ross did not take a salary as CEO which is almost unheard of; however, he did own a majority of the stock so performance of the company was even more important to him. Shortly after I left the company, I found out that they outsourced a significant number of software development work to India taking high paying jobs away from Americans. Just 10 years earlier Ross warned that there would be a ???great sucking sound??? as manufacturing jobs went to Mexico because of NAFTA. When Ross was in a position to walk as he talked, he sold out ??? putting financial gain ahead of everything else. I find it difficult to give him credibility.
Ross Perot is a very intelligent man, but, even intelligent men can be led astray. What I am referring to is McCain's deliberate attempt gain favors during his POW captivity. Well, first off, if that were the case, THE HONORABLE John McCain would most definitely have been charged due to a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Why? Because numerous persons who returned to the United States with him would have certainly turned him in.
There is more to what is going on then trying to malign a man's life. You have a good man who has been through horrorifying traumatic experiences that NO ONE can even come close in comparison.
IF, John McCain did leave his wife after returning from captivity in Vietnam; why has any one NOT taken into consideration (congruence) of the divorce rate of military personnel coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan??? How is Senator McCain, the Naval officer, and different from the returning veterans from our current conflicts???
Mr Perot, please start taking into consideration the violent environment(s) that change a man or woman and can have adverse affects upon relationships. Regardless of who that person might be.
The Honorable Senator McCain is probably to only candidate that stands forthrightly and honorably before the American people and knows true pain; knows honor at its core.
Rurik70 said, "THE HONORABLE John McCain would most definitely have been charged due to a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Why?" I love when people follow questions that can never be truly answered with conjecture as if it were truth. This straw man (in reverse) technique is the meat of e-mail hoaxes rampant in our electronic mailboxes today.
I've served in the military and there are all kinds of human actions, decisions and creativity that fall outside of the "HONORABLE" and heroic as you seem to believe MUST be attributed to John McCain. Maybe he did act honorably and heroically, I do not know. But clearly there is a lot of assumption going on in your conclusions.
5 YEARS together in a hole in the jungle with nothing but a-holes to torment and torture you (group) and somehow you think someone is going to "tattle" when they get home? I'm not sure if this reasoning of Rurik's is based on ignorance or naivety of the human psyche, but in either case it is a sad demonstration.
We don't call people who serve in the military heroes because of merit. We, excuse me, YOU call them heroes because you need them to be. You have heroes who drive and walk down your streets EVERYDAY who literally choose to get out and put their life at risk for you. I certainly hope you take as much effort (more) to stop and thank a policeman, fireman or teacher. Certainly what we pay THEM is not heroic.
to sweetpea1954 -- Please, please do us all a favor and stop listening to moronic Internet rumors. Not that it matters, but Obama is a practicing Christian, his father was raised Muslim but later became an agnostic. Also Obama never attended an "extremist Muslim" school, though he did attend Muslim and Catholic schools in Indonesia where he received some religious training. I assume you're not saying we should ban all candidates who've gone to religious schools ever in their life. Of course by the tone of your vitriol, I'm assuming you yourself are some breed of evangelical who wants prayer in schools, so that can't be what you want.
Plenty of reasons to disagree with Obama, or any candidate, but knee-jerk xenophobia and the mindless repetition of baseless rumors is hardly one of them.
It Obama isnt Muslim why did he take his oath of office with his hand on the koran not the bible? Hmmmm make you think doesn't
First lets make something clear: Perot got a lot of folks excited about him running then bailed out and still got 19% of the votes. His message was loud and clear: "Big Business leads the show or your out"... His racist comment "Their hand-eye productivity is incredible because of drawing the symbols," also speaks lound and clear. Mr. Perot go rope a goat....
aruiz01
Perot may have a lot of faults but a comment re: hand eye productivity isnt racist, its a comparison to work habits and culture. So now its racist to praise some ehtnic culture . Is he being demeaning or condescending? I must not meaning of the word then.
When Perot was running for president he made a comment on the Phil Donahu show about the middle east. we were in the same situation as we are now with gas prices and OPEC. He said these people have been fighting for the last 2000 years. They throw the border sands up and where they lay is where their new borders are. How are we supposed to think we as a nation can change all of that. a peoples faith is at stake here and they both believe what they are fighting for is right. They both feel God is on their side.
Perot's ego gave us Clinton...he should be ashamed.
No, Bush's treachery and lies gave us Clinton. His son has continued selling out the country for the "New World Order."
Lets see: Clinton, best president of the 20th century who left office with an approval rating above 63%. You Bush 21%-ers crack me up.
I still have a problem with Obama. His father was a Muslim extremist and so is his step dad. He was sent to a Muslim extremist school and I???ve never heard of a Muslim converting to Christianity.
To Sweetpea
Obama lived with is father until he was two years old, never even went to Kenya until his father died, his m other divorced his stepfather and if you were not so ignorant, you would know that he has been a Christian for over twenty years and was never raised in the Muslim faith. Read and learn
Just reading this article proves what a fruitcake Perot is. This powerful supposedly well educated man seems to get the majority of his information from Internet chain letters. He quotes POW conspiracy theories, Obama "swiftboat" emails, then proceeds to tell us how great George Bush is. Its called senile dementia and Ross seems to have it in spades.
RON PAUL is the greatest Statesman of our day. If you value your country and your freedom and the future of both tell everyone you know to cast their vote and support for him. Bush set us back 50 years, big government wants your soul and will mortgage your children's souls if another politician controls the White House.
I am with you Ross Go Mitt!!
We need someone with financial savvy to save this great country that is still reeling from the effects of the Clinton ERA.
The Clinton era ended in the first few months of 2001. What about the last 7 years.
The falling dollar
Gov't borrowing and spending us into Trillions of dollars of debt
Inflation
Gas Price inflation
Possible Recession
Gov't bailouts in the Billions
Waging a war without the intentions of actually taking it to the enemy and win.
This all happened in the last 7 years. I am no fan of any of the Clintons but to stick your head in the sand about this Admin. is foolish.
How am I supposed believe this self admitting liar posing as a journalist. He fits right in with Washington,D.C. Fair tax. Go Mike!
I second that!!
