In a nutshell-I voted or Ross and happen to like how he thinks.
IMPORTANT: Here's my opportunity to let everyone know that regardless of who they want to be president and whether they are Republican or Democrat, PLEASE VOTE FOR OBAMA IN THE PRIMARIES. WE DO NOT NEED HILLARY CLINTON TO WIN THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION.
FYI- I am a republican and may very well cast my presidential vote that way however Obama is the next best option and certainly wouldn't mind him being president either, but the thought of Hillary in that position scares the living h--- out of me and should everyone else also.

I voted for Perot back then but after hearing what he is saying about McCain any admiration for him as a person has just got flushed down the tube. He may be getter old and bitter because he is 77 years old and lost his chance for the President, but Perot might as well quit while he is ahead. To try and smear McCain now is rediculous. If McCain was such a bad person how come his McCains Ex-wife doesn't say nothing bad, that speaks for itself,

Have you ever considered that John and Carol McCain were adults and knew that they had grown apart while he was a POW? There are people who have amicable divorces and don't feel the need to say bad things about each other.

Maybe she wishes to not get involved in the typical political mud slinging. Much like what goes on here!

Maybe she doesn't feel the need to get into a mud slinging contest. Did you ever consider that?

If Perot???s ears weren???t so big his head would be even further up his ass. The guy made a lot of money, but with some of the moronic comments he???s made over the years it???s hard to believe the guy has two brain cells to rub together.

    1. I like John McCain but do not totally support him. For Perot to say that McCain has covered up facts about Vietnam POW???s is laughable. What would Perot know about POW???s? ??????a senior Vietnamese official in the 1980s.??? told him something and that???s the gospel for him? What an imbecile. Although I do not know for sure, I would find it hard to believe that McCain would be of that ilk. Let???s see, didn???t McCain turn down an offer to get out of Hanoi when it was presented to him? And he said no to the offer and withstood the punishment for 5 years? Hmmm?

    2. How could Perot know what were the issues between McCain and Carol McCain when they were divorcing? I guess Perot???s also a soothsayer.

    3. And the comments from Perot about Barack Obama. Quite ill informed to not know that he isn???t a Muslim. My God, what a fool Perot is.

    4. Finally, "Their hand-eye productivity is incredible because of drawing the symbols," with regard to his statement about the Chinese. I???m just shaking my head, this guy can???t be for real.

The guy make some valid points but how can you take him seriously when he says the other things he says? So to all of the 20% that voted for this guy in 1992 ???What were you thinking???? Voting for Ron Paul this time? I hope that everyone get themselves a little better informed this election and won???t waste a vote for someone like Ross Perot.

Unfortunately our electorate is largely made up of morans. How else do you explain Bush's victory in 2004? False commnets regarding Obama are so outlandish they don't even deserve our attention except some fools actualy believe them and bigots encourage them.
I'm sick of the ignorance in this country. We have the most uninformed voters with the most access to valid information of any country I can think of. Ask the Brits their opinion about our country. Yoou'll get an honest answer you probably won't like.

I explain Bush's victory in '04 in two words:
      Kerry-Edwards.

      • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 01/17/2008 1:24:35 PM

Amen! I never did hear Kerry's plan because he was far too busy finding bad things to day about Bush.

Jonathon- please don't dignify marginal and useless allegations and information such as presented by Perot. I fail to see the point of your column beyond the fact that you have fallen into the trap of supermarket trash media. Why not focus on more important issues like educating the public with analysis and discussion of the proposed fixes to the economy as explored by the Senate yesterdeay. Too few people understand these issues and fail to cast their votes app;ropriately. You are an important voice to enhance our population by putting important issues and news before them.

Having attended the Naval Academy, I know it is a small fraternity that usually supports one another. Have immense respect for Ross Perot and what he has accomplished. He has truly helped hundreds of Thousands by the jobs he has created in both EDS and support companies. On the other hand, McCain is an anomoly, critized by his classmates, and has no true business sector experience. No one can knock the tremendous sacrifice he made in Vietnam, but his life has been one of service only in the Public sector. Romney is the only candidate today who has significant Public and Private sector experience and remarkable success. Ministerial service, acting, working for the Government or beiing the wife of a President and governor do not involve knowing how to build and lead Corporate America. Romney has shown he can run a large successful business, turn around an Olympics that was marred by scandal, run a state effectively. There is no one on the ballot in either party with this experience.

I was thinking about Romney until he started promising that the auto industry jobs will come back to Michigan.

Obama, indeed, refuses to hold his hand over his heart or salute the flag during the National anthem: http://nextstoplauderdale.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/obama-and-the-nat-ant.jpg

Gotta love a picture. Thousand words. Interesting the words used to describe can ONLY be your own. Is it possible that he was preoccupied, the music or pledge had not begun yet (he IS standing...that is some kind of reference to reverence) and just after the picture was taken he put his hand to his heart for the pledge or anthem? Simply a trouble-maker if what I believe ndlsumr is.

This country has had enough with Republicans. It took us, collectively, seven years to discover that they have been lying all along: they don't walk the talk; they don't have morals; they don't have ethics; they don't have scruples; they don't care about the little guy and all they want to do is spin stories. Republicans have a natual aversion to the truth--like it's a snake.

    • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 01/17/2008 1:18:50 PM

I guess that you're saying the the lies the Democrats tell are OK. I don't believe what comes out of Hillary's mouth because when she was getting all that experience that the brags about she told tons of lies.

    • Posted By: Stubby @ 01/17/2008 10:35:40 AM

Where do you get off thinking democrats have morals and scruples? They kill babies, sue corporations, sue doctors and hospitals, protest, whine, cry, go on strike, put people out of business, and marry their own kind (gays) that destroy family values. Unions hate corporations, but they keep working for them! It's people like you that have destroyed this country, and then you point your finger to the people that give you a job, as though they're the bad guys. Start your own business, and then start your own union to work there. This is how you become a conservative, once your eyes are open!!!

WAKE UP AMERICA we do have a Ross Perot running for President. His name is RON PAUL and needs your vote. Don't vote for the special interest fruitcakes....

  • Posted By: 1COWBOY @ 01/17/2008 1:15:31 PM

I think we all made a mistake when we didn't listen to Perot when he ran for President. He was like Ron Paul today trying to put some common sense into the mind of us people who are voting. Unfortunately we nor the Politicians have learned much.
Perot said there will be a sucking sound of jobs going overseas and to Mexico and that was only a part of it.
Common sense and honesty is very rare to find and it seems everybody thinks you are a troublemaker when honesty and without political correctness in mind is involved.
Wake up Americans before it is too late we can not afford to have idiots rule this Country of ours anymore and there are more criminals in our government than ever before.
Question: Have there been any good news coming out of this administration in 7 years?
Ex lifetime Republican now proud INDEPENDENT.

I AM NO GREAT ADMIRER OF ROSS PEROT. HOWEVER, HE WAS RIGHT-ON DURING THE DEBATE ON NAFTA WHEN HE STATED, "THAT GIANT SUCKING SOUND YOU HEAR IS 30 MILLION JOBS LEAVING THIS COUNTRY".

    • Posted By: ohboyohboy @ 01/17/2008 1:14:47 PM

Do you even know the facts about NAFTA???? Before NAFTA we had APTA which allowed original auto manufacturers to bring in parts duty free as long as they were used on the assembly line. Please know what you are talking about before posting. It obvious you don't know the law!

  • Posted By: laredotech1 @ 01/17/2008 1:13:06 PM

As an independant, i voted for Bush the first time and not the second one. The only other republican that would get my vote over the current democrats running for president would be McCain.

Ross Perot has done so much for our vets and that's a fact. Ross may have money but he earned it, the old fashioned way and he is very generous to many good causes, but especially P.O.W. M.I.A. related causes. He is a patriot. Get him Ross!

"nuttier than a fruitcake"? Is that Perot or McCain you are talking about, Boulder Sue?

McCain also turned his back on the survivors of the intentional attack by Israel on the USS Liberty,

I worked on the Perot Presidential campaign in 1992. I believed in his philosphy then and I still do. I wish he would run for President again, as I think he would give the candidates we have now a run for their money. Not one of the current candidates has "our" best interests at heart, only their own private agendas. JMO

AT 67, I've seen alot of changes in this world. Hindsight is not always 20/20 but some happenings in our recent past that would have made our country a better place to live is 1. Goldwater elected President. 2. Jimmy Carter not being elected. 3. Perot not being elected 4. Term limits on Congress. Each of these ideas have direct bearing on what he are going through today. A little research on your part will show you how our lives would be greatly improved.
