Look at the record of the Presidential candidates - John McCain is the only one who has demonstrated through his leadership and service to this country a level of experience and ability commensurate with the standards we should all demand of our President. His actions speak louder than all the political rhetoric emanating from his opponents. All I am saying is "give John McCain a chance" he truly deserves it.

McCain's admirable record ended after he left the Navy. He's represented Arizona in the Senate for decades yet never said a word about illegal immigration til the Minutemen made it an issue. No one peron in Washington had a greater obligation to address the issue, and no one person was so derelict in their duty. History is full of great soldiers who were lousy at governing, probably far more of them than great soldiers turned great President.
McCain has also abandoned Arizona conservative republicans, ceding the governorship to a Clintonesque Dem rather than lift a finger for a Rep who self term limited out of Congress as he promised he would. The Arizona primaries will show McCain is done.

I'M NO ADMIRER OF ROSS PEROT. HOWEVER, HE ALONE GOT IT RIGHT CONCERNING THE NAFTA TRADE AGREEMENT; "THAT GIANT SUCKING SOUND YOU HEAR IS 30 MILLION JOBS LEAVING THIS COUNTRY". HOW RIGHT-ON HE WAS.

It is unfortunate that a man who once garnered the support and will of 19% of the American public throws his weight behind a man (Romney) whose convictions are situational... I thought Mr. Perot thought something of our rule of law in this country. McCain - in my most humble view, is NO statesman, either. A cursory exam of legislation will demonstrate that much. Neither for that matter is Romney. Mr. Perot, you're quite correct, the country is in a shambles fundamentally and financially compared to '92; and, frankly there is no difference in Rep/Dem. The banks HAVE ONLY THEMSELVES TO BLAME, but the American taxpayer can simply pony up while the schemes that hold this deteriorating mess up present the picture to America as less than the enormous disaster that it truly is.

This article is pandering to a wealthy man and his opinions. Did you elect to print his "interview" because he is a former spectacle with future hopes to continue as such in the American Mind? If you wish to inform the public, please do so, but you lessen your credibility as a reliable news source when you sink to publishing allegations - specifically about the live Viet Nam prisoners - that you cannot confirm and, apparently, investigations indicate that they are false allegations. Do you have credible evidence to the contrary? If not, then farm this off to a sensational rag or risk becoming one yourself.

Wow what a surprize---a Clintonite(Jon Alter) interviewing a covert Clintonite(Ross Perot) and their attacking the one candidate she definitely cannot beat, John McCain. What a surprize!?

    NOT!!

That's funny, I was just wondering what Ross would say about our current fiscal situation compared to the early 1990's. Looks like he's right on the money.

  • Posted By: benvictor @ 01/17/2008 10:35:17 AM

Where did you resurrect this guy from? Who does Perot think created the mess in this country, if not Bush?
How can we ever forget, "Who am I?, Why am I here?" These words will live in infamy.

Ross Perot ran as a 3rd Part Candidate solely to clinch the Presidency for Bill Clinton (you notice that was the only two times he ran).

He was rewarded with huge lucrative contracts with the CLinton's contacts in China. It is all quite ornery indeed. Mike Bloomberg and Loou Dobbs are loooking to get in on the same action this year so that Hillary's 41% gets the job for her.....but then OBAMA showed up!!!!

  • Posted By: MalognaSandwich @ 01/17/2008 10:34:38 AM

I'm shocked that even Perot is ignorant to the fact that Obama is a Christian not Muslim. Don't people learn what they're talking about before deciding who to vote for? I was under the impression that people would want to know the facts before deciding. Perot just sounds like a washed up conspiracy theorist to me in this article.

Perot ran as a 3rd Party cadidate solely to hand the Presidency to Bill CLinton with the payback being huge lucrative Chinese commercial deals. I all really quite ornery.

Perot, the quiter, "yea" everyone should pay attention to him, riight.

  • Posted By: jprattie @ 01/17/2008 9:39:55 AM

Perot is correct. These greedy Wall Street pricks ARE going around the world with a tamborine and a tin cup, looking for cash for foreign entities, a few of which we will end up fighting someday, to bail out their bad investments and three car monte mortgages perpetuated on the American people. And to the people I ask: why the hell aren't you madder about this? Or are you content as long as you have your little job and your SUV, picket fence and 2.1 kids? YOU should be protesting the widening gap between the rich and the poor and stop indulging in the fantasy that somehow,, by hell or high lotttery ticket, - you too will someday be a member of that top 1%. Cause brother, unless theres a radical change in this country - it ain't happening.

Why doesn't Ross lend the goverment money . Oh, that would be like paying taxes. Ross help fix the problem, not cry about it.

      • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/17/2008 10:27:52 AM

Aren't the biggest cryers of the problem Obama and Hilary's hollywood friends? If they can make 10-20 million a pic, shouldn't they be able to pay for the poor? Oh, that's right, THEY don't pay taxes either...

    • Posted By: tdn0024 @ 01/17/2008 10:15:54 AM

      jprattie,

did me a fair stretch of time in yonder ivy league, so as it turns out those Wall Street pricks are folks I done some shoulder rubbin with

      funny thing this

Old Rush Limbaugh's probably the best reason that America votes for stuff you don't like

When the Wall Street types stop to think about it... they don't see much popular uproar against the way of things...

Folks in the Bible Belt vote for law that help a Wall Street mucky mucky make a whole lot of muck: cap gains tax cut instead of middle class, for example

And the Wall Street guys take credit for low unemployment.

Most of America is moderately paid, buying great goods cheap, but working, proud, and ready to keep on keeping on

Ol' John Edwards couldn't carry a single state down south with his message of gettin' it back from the MBA's of the world

Bottom line: life is pretty good. When the working poor are rich enough not to really care whether the make a few hundred more bucks a year, or that clever n ambitious whiippersnappers in suits are making big cash

America is a satisfied nation. Deeply invested in the belief of its own goodness (we saved the Jews from Hitler so long live Israel, we're killing now and over there to stop it in future and over here, etc.)

Don't be surprised if the Republicans win again

Is there a story here or the just the relating of some gossip. Whatever happened to professional journalism? Are the days gone by when checking facts and producing a balanced story with comments from the accuser and the accused are shown? This is lazy, trash journalism that I would expect from a local tabloid not a national, once respected ???real??? news magazine.

Perot is a moron who gave Clinton the election. He needs to stay out of the sun a little more. It has baked his tiny brain.

  • Posted By: Dakjoy @ 01/17/2008 10:06:30 AM

Don't know who I'll vote for yet, but I do know who I won't vote for. While I admire Hillary and respect her, I just can't bring myself to believe a word she says. I rather like Barack, but don't like the fact that he will raise my taxes higher than they already are. I'm sick to death of republicans and their religion. I don't want a minister in the white house. I don't want religion in politics. I'm sick of the far right and far left. If you listen carefully, all
who are running are saying the same thing. As for the white guy from NC, well I live here and all I see in him is an ambulance chaser! McCain seems a little unstable to me. So what's a person to do? I haven't figured it out yet really. I'll keep looking for someone to vote for - Ron Paul looks damn good at this point.

I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT JOHN MCCAIN WAS A SICK MAN--HIS REACTIONS TO ANY FORM OF
"FIGHT" (TO WIT THE RECENT SECOND PLACE IN MICHIGAN OR NO.1 IN NH) EXHIBIT A GLEE THAT BECOMES POINTLESS MEAN-NESS--HE IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR REVENGE. HE EMPHASIZED IN
THE USUAL "GRACIOUS SPEECH" AFTER A WIN THAT ROMNEY WAS A HOMETOWN BOY IN MI--ME

So, Perot, a guy who can't even figure out how to Snope a false email about Obama, can be trusted to know the truth about McCain and the POWs? Good God!

  • Posted By: ragtopdodge @ 01/17/2008 9:59:47 AM

    Doesn't Romney support NAFTA?
