    Wacky.

I voted Perot...because I was sure he'd lose in Mass. where I voted...and I wanted Clinton to cut the deficit. He did! Whoopee! Thanks Ross.

In 2000, I started thinking of McCain. But he did seem a bit too trigger happy. Eager as a pup to take after ... wait for it.... Iran, Iraq, and NKorea. I figgered this McCain fella was kinda wacky like, um... Ross.

So I's real happy when this son Bush, son of a nice reasonable fella with lots of friends and self-restraint won the Presidency.

Talk all you want about dirty tricks.

What I saw was that South Carolina, and the country, said a polite no thanks to McCain's eagerness to run out there and get all tem bad guys.

Then that thar G W Bush become president, having said he'd stay out of foreign spats, and got all horny to take out Sawddum, as his daddy would say.

Bottom line is, we voted for a Bush. We got a McCain. Who acts like a Perot.

    Confound it!

The GOP's hit squads are at it again just as they were in 2000. Senator McCain has made some miskakes in his lifetime, just like everyone has. However, he is the most experienced and most qualified candidate to run this country. Just because he divorced his first wife does not disqualify him from being President. If Perot was so smart why didn't the people elect him to be the President. Perot is jealous of McCain because McCain is an American Hero and speaks the truth. People of South Carolina wake up! Don't believe the lies being thrown at you about Senator McCain. McCain is the only candidate with a record of achievement, experience and someone that will do what's right for our country and keep her safe.

Remember Ross Perot stating back in the 90's "...listen to that giant sucking sound of jobs leaving the US...." Well he was right in a major way, wasn't he??

Comment: American's have had enough of Republicans.

McCain is NOT ONLY the status quo; he is a war monger (just like Bush) and will have us in WWIII before you can blink!!!

ROSS , GETS IT RIGHT . JOHN MCCAIN WOULD NOT BE A GOOD PRESIDENT, HE TO MUCH FOR HISSELF, FEELS SORRY HIS SELF, HE DOES NOT THING OF THE OTHER VETERANS THAT SPENT THEIR TIME IN THE WAR. WE NEED A BUSINESS MAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE LIKE MITT ROMNEY., MIKE H GOES TO RELIGIST. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GROTH OF AMERICA.

  • Posted By: RichardM @ 01/17/2008 9:36:00 AM

American's have had enough of Republians.

They have an inate aversion to the truth which you can see and hear everyday. After seven years we have, collectively, learned that they actually don't walk the talk; they have no morals; they have no scruples; they couldn't care less for the average American or America.

A vote for McCain is a vote for the status quo.

Mr. Perot actually didn't know that Mr. Obama is a Christian? Amazing considering that he supposedly keeps up.

  • Posted By: scootertrash @ 01/17/2008 8:52:39 AM

Good article! Nice to hear some plain talk now and then. Question for Newsweek; If Bill Clinton couldn't be stopped from having affairs in the White House as President, who is going to stop him from embarrassing his wife, american people and our Government if she is elected President? Think about that and forget about wrinkles, gender or race. Scott Isham Michigan

Our biggest ;problem is an uninformed electorate in a country that has access to the most political news anywhere. Also, many would rather believe the 'swift boating' lies tied to each election than ferrat out the truth which is readily available. Then I believe a much higher percentage of our electorate and citizens are closet bigots who don't want to see a black presient, a female president or even a president who doesn't conform to their individual ideas of what a christian is. Our backwords electorate plus our lying campaign leaders make for the chance the best man may not get the win (eg Bush 2000 and Bush 2004). This current adminiswtration has messed up our country in so many ways, it is depressing to think about. I soulnn't listen to Ross Perot right now either but my bet is many will take his comments regarding McCain as gospel. We are in a sad state of affairs. Anyone have any ideas how this mess gets straightened out?

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/17/2008 9:23:20 AM

Well, you could have stated some facts instead of just opinion for starters. Maybe America simply doesn't want THIS black person as president or THIS woman as commander-in-chief or this ex-Govornor of Mass as president. You want the electorate to be better, but then you marginalize them all with insults. The reality is that John Kerry never opened up his records to refute any of the Swift Boat vets facts, Kerry's accounts had more holes in it than swiss cheese (Christmas in Cambodia and the CIA boony hat). But because YOU choose to beleive Kerry, Gore, Rather or Soros instead of others does not mean the others are not valid.

The biggest problem is that people, even in an era with the most available information, do not look for the truth, just for others that agree with them (labeling everyone else 'wrong'). Dan Rather and his Bush NG record is the perfect example. So much proof existed that the documents were false, but yet how many still beleive they are real..?

Wether this conversation ever took place is questionable - does Ross have the phone number for DNC headquarters? But one thing is true, the McCain-Kerry bill that McCain wrote with John "Cambodia" Kerry did in fact state that we recognized no live POWs or MIAs still in Vietnam. McCain's purpose was to normalize relations with his former captors. This is why many Vets are against McCain, they feel he turned his back on their brothers-in-arms. Many Reps now feel that McCain is doing the same thing to his chosen party. If he wants to stop the spin, he should have just been honest and switched parties...

As far as Obama and the pledge issue, sorry Jonothan but it is true. Check out Snopes.com and read what Obama himself has said on the topic. Which begs the question, how can a person be commander-in-chief who doesn't respect a symbol of the country he will be swore to protect and defend?

One must wonder if this article was, as many politicals are claiming both sides are doing, a back-handed endorcement ment to drive voters away from a candidate and not towards...

Having attended the Naval Academy, I know it is a small fraternity that usually supports one another. Have immense respect for Ross Perot and what he has accomplished. He has truly helped hundreds of Thousands by the jobs he has created in both EDS and support companies. On the other hand, McCain is an anomoly, critized by his classmates, and has no true business sector experience. No one can knock the tremendous sacrifice he made in Vietnam, but his life has been one of service only in the Public sector. Romney is the only candidate today who has significant Public and Private sector experience and remarkable success. Ministerial service, acting, working for the Government or beiing the wife of a President and governor do not involve knowing how to build and lead Corporate America. Romney has shown he can run a large successful business, turn around an Olympics that was marred by scandal, run a state effectively. There is no one on the ballot in either party with this experience.

According to this account, Ross Perot only recently needed a Newsweek columnist to tell him that Barack Obama is not a Muslim. (And that's true, of course: He is a Christian.) The kindest thing you can say about Ross Perot, then, is that he's uninquisitive; given that he's a former candidate for the nation's highest office, Perot's ignorance on the matter is the sign of an out-and-out fool. Tell me again why Newsweek would bother to give him the spotlight...?

Oh yeah, I forgot: This is the first interview he has "granted" in 19 years. Wow, what a coup.

  • Posted By: Art Dudley @ 01/17/2008 8:22:54 AM

If we're to believe this account -- that only very recently Ross Perot needed a Newsweek reporter to tell hm that Barack Obama is not a Muslim -- then Perot is, to put it charitably, an uninquisitive dullard. (No wonder he thinks Bush is "decent.") Given that, why would a Newsweek reporter feel compelled to give Ross Perot the spotlight?

Oh, yeah -- I remember now: This is "the first interview he's granted in nineteen years." What a coup.

Polititions are mererly puppets doing what the special interests are paying them to do. "Obama" sounds too much like "Osama" ,(wouldn't that be interesting if we had a President that sounds like our most hated terrorist?) We need another straight shooter in this country like a Ross Perot type but unfortunately, we don't really want to hear straight talk. I don't think Mr. Romney is that guy either as he looks like a car salesman.

  • Posted By: gscouch @ 01/17/2008 5:34:48 AM

You say Obama is a Christian? Go to his website, and check out Trinity Church of Christ which he is a member of. It is clearly all about being African. No mention of welcoming all races. Isn't that what America is made up of. We need a President who will uphold our Constitution of the United States, and I am not sure that is Obama.

  • Posted By: gscouch @ 01/17/2008 5:29:32 AM

Go to Obama's web site and check out the church he is a member of and you will see what their beliefs are.
Truly not a church that welcome's all races, and isn't that what America is all about. We need a President that will uphold our Constitution of The United States.

Well...McCain did throw out his first wife for a young blond heiress to a fortune...Paris Hilton? Nope...well, kinda...

Cindy looks great, but he was out having an affair. What more can I say? He did more than look at the menu.

You just can't do that. I can't believe he thinks that the GOP will nominate a man who ran around with a much younger woman--when he was still married.

John, go hang out with your good friend Ted Kennedy.
