HRC is experienced at using any dirty trick possible to get what she wants. HRC has at this moment a track record for running for US Senator, when she wasn't a resident of NY ( she was called a carpet bagger as I recall) when it was clear to all knowledgeble NYS residents, that her ultimate goal was to be right where she is today, running for US President. She do and use what ever people words or deeds she needs to get where she wants. A power -hungry feminist is not what I want representing this wonderful nation for the 21st century. Why else would she allow herself and her daughter to be publicly humiliated by her wonderful husband on more than one occasion. For her the ends justifies the means.

Clinton Surrogate Publication Newsweek never misses an opportunity to berate and marginalize Mr. Obama. HRC is an self-entitled feminist. You continually give her and her adulterer husband a free pass. This publication has openly tolerated HRC and their cloaked racist rhetoric posing as fair and balanced which is a absolute sham.

From Fact check.org: Correction, Jan. 17: We originally reported that the AP story didn???t include the quote used in the ad. We were looking at the final version sent on the AP wire that day. But the Obama campaign contacted us to point out, correctly, that an earlier version of that story included those words as a headline. Look for yourself - http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obamas_creative_clippings_part_deux.html

All the Presidential ads are deceptive. Hillary's claim to 35years of experience....what does that mean. I have 30 years experince. Being married to a President does not qualify one to run for the Presidency....and her time as NY senator has not yielded any accomplishments either...I live in NY and I know. I was never a HIllary hater until the last few weeks....the sense of entitlement that she and Bill have about the Presidency is dispicable. Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton - a dynasty in America?! Outrageous. And the now the media is guilt ridden over so called Hillary bashing, so they decided to pile up on Obama. I don't want a CEO running the country....we see how dangerous and greedy and power hungry CEO's can be. I want a President that inspires.....that's the only way things can change and important issues can be dealt with.

In the words of Hillary "How Pathethic".

This story is a real case study in the art of trying to create hype out of nothing. "True enough, but the story also chastises him for making too much of the boldness of his early stance". How in god's name is that a bad thing? That alone it makes him categorically better than the rest. Its yet another demonstration that even without Hillary's "experience" he's just better "by nature".

Mr Bank needs to do some more learning on the art of non-biased writing. Or at the very least learn how to be a little more indirect about your political biases.

He sold himself on a stance against the war while others voted for the resolution. He is deceitful in making it appear as though he were in a position to vote or not. He was not a Senator at the time. He sells himself on having better "judgement." Yet he himself called his Ritz affair and "bonehead thing to do." So much for judgement. He allowed his surrogates and supporters to imply if not directly state, that the Clintons were racist. Another sign of poor judgement considering the fact that the Clintons were never charged with racism until they one ran against him. In fact the Clintons have been embraced by the African American community until his judgement "inspired" the racism rhetoric that we who know better, had to put up with. Bringing people together does not seem to be his strength afterall.

This kind of "creative" campaigning is exactly what Obama should steer clear of. It would be wise for him to act on his own rhetoric, "[We] need a President who won't tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to know."

Or better yet--do it the McCain way: tell it like it IS, not how you'd like it to be.

I always knew that Barrack Obama is an operator - another Bush in the making. No results to speak of and phony all the way.

    • Posted By: imahillady @ 01/17/2008 6:55:04 PM

I knew that before he was in this race for the nomination. Glad to know you weren't fooled either.

IS THIS THE DIRT FORMER PRESIDENT CLINTON HAS INTIMATED TO THE MEDIA TO GO AFTER? MUCH LIKE LISA MIRERS'S SEGMENT ON NBC NIGHTLY NEW SHOW. IT SEEMS TO ME THE MEDIA IS NOW BEING THREATEN BY THE CLINTONS TO COME UP WITH NEGATIVE STORIES ON OBAMA, NO MATTER HOW TRIVIAL THE SUBJECT MATTER. HOW PATHETIC!!! HAS ANYONE BEGAN IN ANY WAY TO SCRUTIZE HILLARY'S ADVERTISMENTS, OR EVEN FACT CHECK HER STATEMENTS MADE IN
SPEECHES AND MEDIA RESPONSES? FOR EXAMPLE, DURING THE DEBATE SHE COMPLETELY SWITCHED POSITION ON THE IRAQ WAY. SHE STATED EARLIER IN THE YEAR, SHE WOULD NOT PULL ALL THE TROOPS OUT AND SHE WOULD NOT PROVIDE A TIME TABLE. WELL, DURING THE DEBATE, SHE HAS ADOPTED BARACK'S POSITION. SHE WILL BEGAN A WITHDRAWAL OF TROOPS AND WILL HAVE THEM OUT BY THE END OF '09. NONE OF THIS IS BEING REPORTED. BUT THE SNIPIDS IN AN AD IS MORE DEVASTATING THAN FLIP-FLOPPING ON THE WAR.

    • Posted By: imahillady @ 01/17/2008 6:53:33 PM

Are you kidding? Where have you been? Obama is not getting a free ride for the moment and this is the best you can come up with? Man, Obama's supporters are "uptight" about EVERTHING. Yeah, that's real "inspiring!"

  • Posted By: alagbon @ 01/17/2008 4:28:38 PM

This article is so ridiculous, especially the take about the Iraqi war. He has been consistently in opposition to the war. No doubt about it. He has however been attacked for voting to support funding the war. Where is the contradiction? Should he have denied funding for the soldiers who could not pick which war to pick? This is laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

    • Posted By: imahillady @ 01/17/2008 6:48:42 PM

He wasn't in a position to know information that qualified him to vote against the war because he was not a United States Senator. Amazing how he always gets credit for just "talking."

Prince Charming has a lot of problems, not false ads. He has his drug experiences, voting "present" numerous times as a state senator, and buying his house at a great price from a political insider going to trial in Chicago. Now, the culinary union will have special voting privileges in Nevada while the rest of the democratic voters in the State get screwed. Prince Charming is not fit to be President.

    • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 01/17/2008 5:05:43 PM

Has anyone even ASKED Hillary if she's used drugs? And would we BELIEVE her if she denied ever trying drugs? Remember, Bill never even "inhaled." As far as the Culinary union getting "Special" privileges...that's another Clinton lie. They agreed to having these sites available to the culinary workers since last March. Then just 2 days after they found out that the union was backing Obama instead of Hillary, they initiated a lawsuit that would keep those people from voting at all. Wake up to the Clinton tricks. Hillary thought her being the first woman president would be a slam dunk, and when Obama came along, they couldn't handle his honesty and the grace with which he's handled their tricks and lies.

      • Posted By: imahillady @ 01/17/2008 6:44:24 PM

No one "asked" Obama about his drug use. He volunteered to write about it..

    • Posted By: balancio @ 01/17/2008 5:00:50 PM

benvictor, Nevada's culinary union does not receive special voting privileges in Nevada. ANYONE that works near those voting stations IS ALLOWED TO VOTE THERE.

    • Posted By: dasheight @ 01/17/2008 4:44:13 PM

Pardon the question, but - Are you a MORON? Do you even read about things before you talk?
He voted "present" as a STRATEGY designed in COOPERATION with Planned Parenthood, as "present" COUNTS AS A NO. If there were enough "presents", the bill would not go through. AND HE DEFEATED IT.
THIS WAS REPORTED IN THIS VERY MAGAZINE. So, get your facts RIGHT before you type, please.

How much did Newsweek get from the Clinton Camp. to write this article??? I think I remember seeing the CEO of newsweek on a list of Clinton's donors... Hmmm?

    • Posted By: imahillady @ 01/17/2008 6:41:36 PM

I see Obama's supporters are "Inspired" to twis things as well.

The lowest income earners will have to still make that crucial decision; bills and food or health care......

  • Posted By: mpb30091 @ 01/17/2008 6:26:03 PM

Barack has consistently said that his plan does not FORCE every American to have health care, but rather, makes it affordable to everyone. He believes that the problem is making health care affordable for everyone, not making everyone have it. I do not believe his ad is trying to trick people on his position in health care, it's trying to say that as President, he will make health care affordable for everyone.

  • Posted By: Corsair977 @ 01/17/2008 6:18:24 PM

America cannot pay for universal health care and remain in a war against terrorism. While Americas' health problems won't go away, the war will not either,(it's too late to retreat). No man or woman (Obama or anyone else) can change the course of a battleship in mid stream. Many people can hope for wars' end and the dream of health care and other benifits. But few people REALLY ever sit down and think through the economic disaster of attempting both of these objectives at the same time. Politicians prey one people who root for change,..the one's who don't think before they vote. Try, to THINK, about that.

  • Posted By: Truth-Like it or Not @ 01/17/2008 6:17:00 PM

All of these emails prove that this country needs help to improve its viewpoint position on racism. Obama is a vialbe candidate just like Hillary. Change is needed, Hope is needed, and a positive viewpoint is needed. Hillary will just continue with Bill the same old politics in this country and that is where Obama is refreshing to make a difference. People think he's a Muslim, can't raise his hand to the Pledge of Allegience, well I don't either because it wasn't written for me even though my ancestors Black and Native American didn't get any breaks and built this country at their demise, so no I never raise my hand to the Pledge of Allegience. I am proud to be an American, pround of my heritage and ancestors contributions to it. However, this country still singled me out as a Black American, instead of an American who happends to be Black. There is a difference, and Obama represents that for me--not Hillary!

My dad taught me at about the age of 10 (I'm now 63) as we watched both the republican and Democratic conventions to be critical of even those I liked and later would support. Journalists and all candidates and their machines take liberty with the real as much just as they use makeup on TV. I could vote for Obama if he is the nominee. He's not my first choice. About this particular article: it is fair. It doesn't lie anymore than Obama or his handlers. Additionally, Obama or any other candidate can "offer" whatever they want. Promises to deliver should not be believed. To believe all they promise is to ignore that they do not have the power to pass legislation or the budget. Calm the anger. Support critical listening and reading. Vote and work to get any of the three top Democratic candidates in office. They are all good legislators. It is an ideal year to win and be proud.

  • Posted By: Truth-Like it or Not @ 01/17/2008 6:09:07 PM

Carole Wallace is the loser who can't spell. Muslim or not, Black or White is not the issue. The issue is he is a viable candidate that happens to be of mixed origin. I don't always raise my hand to the Pledge of Allegience since it wasn't written to protect Black people in this country with racist people such as yourself still walking around. He is not Jesse Jackson nor Al Sharpton who are opportunistics, nor as educated as Obama, or as savvy. The comparison is racist because its like saying every Black person is the same, and if that true then every White person must be as stupid as you!

  • Posted By: jerrytsai @ 01/17/2008 2:49:46 PM

These are relevant points, but they are minor compared to the fudging of facts and the sometimes outright lies being issued by the Clinton campaign. The idea behind Obama's health proposal is that it will be universally affordable. And Obama's strident protest of the Iraq war was not only prescient but emphatic. Sure he may have been careful about how he approached the war AFTER the war was engaged, but that is simply prudence, not inconsistency. Once the President committed our troops, Obama voted to make sure that the soldiers in the field had financial backing, which is the right thing to do.

If you want to look at "creative clippings," you need not look further than Bill Clinton's bogus claim that some voters in Nevada will have 5 times the power of other voters (debunked by the Las Vegas Sun) or Hillary Clinton's mailer in New Hampshire that questioned Obama's stance on abortion rights, which falsely represented his votes in the Illinois senate (consult any reputable publication).

    • Posted By: realpages @ 01/17/2008 3:54:54 PM

We've lived through almost seven years of being governed by people who play loose with the facts. I'm fullup on it myself.

When people make a decision to vote for someone as president because they are hoodwinked and bamboozled into believing that person will deliver universal coverage for all Americans, then that is not 'minor'! That is a lie.

      • Posted By: kayteenguyen @ 01/17/2008 6:09:03 PM

If he was a courageous leader who opposed the war, why did he not oppose it in 2004? It may be prudent, but it was still inconsistent. He was being political, which to me is not very courageous. He also said he would vote against funding the war, but perhaps after realizing that it was not prudent to not fund the troops, he changed his mind. This is not my kind of leader--someone who says one thing and decides to prudently do another.

      • Posted By: terryforthepeople @ 01/17/2008 5:01:47 PM

        Extremely Relevant. Thank You

  • Posted By: DCSteve @ 01/17/2008 6:01:58 PM

I don't see why all the Obama supporters seem so confused about this story.

It is pretty simple -- Obama claims to be different than all the rest of the politicians running, but he is not. Give me a break. Politicians tell selective truth. The reason this is news is because Obama went around saying he is better than that -- little like Gary Hart. Well the media is now looking to his statements/tactics to see if he is really different, and the answer is sadly he is not.

Anyhow not a reason in and of itself not to vote for him, being like all the rest makes him no worse. You may still select him as the person most capable of pulling us out of the recession we are rolling into. Which one will get us the best medical plan so we don't bankrupt ourselves putting money in the pockets of the insurance companies. Who might have a hope of pulling something out of the disaster called Iraq.

Jeez, guess I am voting for Hillary.

They are all the same. Look at what each candidate is saying and where he/she stands on the issues not
