Mr. Bank is being every bit as deceptive as he claims Obama to be. I noticed that he doesn't actually offer a link to the AP article about his health plan Obama referenced. Why is that? Because then you would plainly see that, while the article doesn't say "Obama offers universal health care plan," it was the TITLE of the article. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/29/AR2007052901539.html A deliberate misrepresentation of facts to claim that Obama misrepresentated the facts when he actaully didn't. That's called being a hypocrite and a liar, Mr. Bank.

Mr. Bank is being every bit as misleading as he claims Obama to be in regards to his claim that the Associated Press article. I notice he links the AP, but not the actual article. Why is that? I found the article, written by Mr. Mike Glover, and while the phrase "Obama offers universal health care plan" is not found in the article, it was, in fact, the TITLE of the article. Since Mr. Bank does not want to offer a link to support his claim (since it's erroneous) I'll be happy to do him the favor: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/29/AR2007052901539.html

No plan offered by ANY candidate is going to emerge from Congress intact. Cool your jets and get realistic!!

You have to start somewhere. Instead of picking apart every canidates every word from every sentence we should let them have a chance to try. All the canidates have a view for health care but it is unlikely any one of them will come to full fruitation. Instead, we are going to see the same bogged down partisan wrangling over this as we have seen from most other initiatives, no matter who is elected.

Please let's give Obama, and all the others a chance to try, We should stop picking apart every word of every sentence from every canidate. It is unlikely that any one person will see thier plan for healthcare come to full fruitation. Instead, we will get the same bogged down bickering that we always do from or elected offcials.

Here is all you folks out there really need to know:

    MSNBC/Newsweek = Clinton Supporters
Fox News/Wall Street Journal = (well they are still sorting this one out!)

Here are the two most basic facts of politics and politicians:

Someone is doing the screwing and Someone is getting screwed.

    Hey Newsweek,

We all know that you folks favor the Clintons. How much did any of the folks at your magazine contribute to their campaign?

Oh now this is precious... a journalist complaining that a line from an article was taken out of context! Simply hilarious considering that journalists are notorious for taking interviewees comments out of context and plopping them into the middle of an article. Seriously, how do journalists get to be so cheeky?

What a JOKE of an article? I'm not even sure I understand the point....well, other than something negative about Obama. I can't believe Newsweek or MSNBC would even publish this piece of crap. It's not only political garbage, but the writing and flow of it stinks too!!!

Obama and Clinton both use misleading ads. That said, deep inside I desperately want to believe Barack Obama's message of hope, faith and change is for real. But there is no contradicting the fact that his record betrays his message. And I will not compromise the truth of what challenges face America for the promise of "hope" and a good vibe.
So my challenge to Newsweek and other media is: be more critical in examining the "change message" of the "celebrity candidates." Is it authentic? Given the connection between past corporate donations from financial firms, nuclear-power companies, and the health insurance industry, and their voting records in favor of, 1) "tort reform" which caps jury awards in wrongful injury lawsuits while opposing restrictions on predatory lending, 2) support of tax-subsidized nuclear power, and 3) health care plans which does nothing to address how one-third of every health care dollar spent goes toward administration and paperwork generated by the private health insurance industry.
How can Clinton and Obama provide independent leadership and action on these issues when they appear to already be "hemmed in" by corporate power?

Top all that off with the fact that while Obama may not allow PACs to donate directly to his presidential campaign, his own PAC donated to Sen. Joe Lieberman and is funded with help from credit card lobbyist and big oil proponent Rich Tarplin. Did I mention Obama also opposed capping credit-card interest rates on consumers at 30%?

For the life of me, I can't understand why the press to include "Newsweek" is nit-picking everything Barrack Obama says, when you've had a President that utters pure ignorance everytime he opens his mouth and nobody but the comedians say anything about it. Here you have a President that's been in office for 8 years and has done nothing for the middle-class citizens of this country but jerk our strings and lie thru his teeth and the news media says nothing. Then here is Barrack that says no more or makes no more promises than any other candidate or politician and it makes "Newsweek". At least he has new and fresh ideas. so what if they don't all work or he can't make them all come true, at least he has an idea and a plan. Hillary was in the White House for 8 years and all she did was talk about a health care plan, nothing ever came of it...and then there's George who wouldn't know a good idea if he heard it because he never listens to anyone of any intelligence, that's why he sounds so stupid and makes such stupid remarks when he's out and not on his press leash.

WHEN WILL PEOPLE RUNNING FOR ANY OFFICE STOP TELLING PEOPLE THEY WILL DO THIS OR THAT. AS PRESIDENT THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL CONGRES OR THE SENATE APROVE IT. AND WHEN WILL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE STOP BELIEVING THIS CRAP?

Wow. This story is just silly. I know that members of the media took a lot of flack from the Clintons for being "too soft" on the Obama campaign, but if this is all you can come up with you'd be better off just covering the issues. Seriously, your story is that a presidential candidate uses select lines from news stories in his ads?! Please show me an example of a candidate who DOESN'T do that!

If you have a meaningful critique of Obama's positions, his policies, or his actions, it is your duty to bring those things to light. But going out of your way to find petty criticisms like this is just childish. I expect more from competent journalists.

You are splitting hairs. Truly, aren't their more important, far-reaching issues concerning the election and the world, to report upon? This just reinforces the ballooning sentiment that the media just spins, distorts, selectively reports, and detracts from what is really important. I trust any media information about this election, particularly that about Obama and Clinton, less and less each day. Polls? You have to be kidding me....
