Ridiculous, This article is much ado about nothing. All politicians use the positive "clips" from articles and not the critiques. His narrative for the commercial and the clips are absolutely true, so how can you call the commercial misleading. This is not based on checking facts, it's oppinion.

    I
I always knew that Barrack Obama is an operator - another Bush in the making. No results to speak of and phony all the way.

This shows OBAMA is also no different than others. I doubt his glib talk, matches his walk.

Right! This is getting ridiculous! Obviously America is not ready for an inexperienced Mulato who goes to a Black Liberation church, a more experienced woman with a former president for a husband or a trial lawyer who shouts populist rhetoric but lives way above all the people he claims to be concerned about. America probably isn't ready for a Morman or a Southern Baptist either. That leaves Rudi, McCain, Thompson or an Independent. Way to go America. You are narrowing the field!

I don't even know if I completley understand what this article is trying to say. Sounds pretty far reaching, especially to decicate yourself to writting a whole three page article about it . Plus I'm sure this is the first time something like this has ever happened in the history of American politics. I mean...this is like Watergate stuff! Great job Justing Bank,or should I say Ron Burgundy! ! I think you just ripped the lid off of it! That's sarcasm if you can't figure that out.

Amen! joeshields and Mathias311 have it right. There are pipe dreams and there are reasonable hopes and Obama stays grounded. You cannot "guarantee" universal anything - except death and taxes. Lou Dobbs and the Clinton campaign probably contributed to to this article.

At least Obama's plan has a chance to work. Hillary's plan will flop again because nobody wants a plan mandated at them. Arrogance will get you no where. Obama will put together a good plan and then will extend the courtesy to "ask" us to join, not "tell" us we have to join, whether it's a good deal or not.

if this was hilary you would be plastering this all over the headlines, but barak gets a bye

Sorry, but I'm not interested in mandatory health insurance. As a retiree who is under 65, I HAVE health insurance. But it costs me over 25% of my monthly income. What I want is AFFORDABLE health insurance and prescriptions without a bunch of exclusions. Obama's plan does not exclude anyone, so how is it not universal?

    • Posted By: technokitty @ 01/17/2008 4:04:48 PM

It does exclude those who do not have the money to pay for "affordable" coverage but so does HRC's she just does not say it does....instead she tries to use the point to prove the mandate covers everyone, but again if you have no money then how do you buy that mandated plan?? So those who cannot buy the mandated plan are not insured...so she does not cover everyone either!

I've never seen a compaign ad that was totally accurate. Pick them all apart. Everything in politics deals with the context to which you display something.

if he were hilary the press would crucify him, but your article will lead to nothing

  • Posted By: technokitty @ 01/17/2008 3:58:18 PM

Let's be fair in our review of all the "Universal Health Care " plans proposed by every Democratic candidate....none of them cover every American...mandate or not, if you have no money to purchase the plan you get no coverage. the unemployed cannot afford to purchase coverage no matter what cost. HRC nor Edwards, nor Obama cover everyone. Obama and Edwards plans do not pretend to do so, but HRC's plan does by saying it mandates it. but my question is this, if you have no money to purchase the mandated plan how does that cover you?? Compare the fine print everyone and stop trying to make one look different than the other, because they all are basically saying the same thing. Make coverage affordable so more people will be able to purchase the plan and mandate the type of coverage for a minimum plan. NO candidate offers true universal coverage to everyone regrdless of ability to pay.

I am confused, don't all the candidates rephrase things to their own advantage? Why do we continually pick on one for it?

    • Posted By: realpages @ 01/17/2008 3:45:34 PM

Edwards was 'picked on' this very day by this site for something in one of his new adds. This sensitivity about being 'picked on' from a group that wants to lead the free world is pathetic. Just wait until the Republican start 'picking on' Obama ... if the party is short sighted enough to make him the nominee.

As i have stated before OBAMA IS A DEVIOUS political person. So be it, you can fool some people some of the time but you can not fool all the peoplle all the time. Stan Harhut, Anchorage, Alaska

Once again, this article demonstrates that Obama is eloquent, not efficacious. 'Action is eloquence', and I feel much more confidence in the two other major Democratic Party candiates meeting this definition of eloquence, and hence actually able to bring about the changes needed in health-care for working and middle-class families.
