dianei just because someone has a one part of a name does not mean something is wrong with him at least it was given to him at birth. Our other choice for a democrat has a married name and thinks his accomplishments were hers. Being married to someone does NOT give you the leadership capabilities to run this country. I am not saying obama is the best choice but if hildog wins the nomination I will be voting Republican no matter who their candidate is.

This is America's finest hour, this is Her chance to live up to the words that we have heard for centuries, that all men are created equal, and it is an inalienable right given by God. Barack Obama is qualified to occupy the "White house" (or is that the problem ?) he should be judged not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character. And if he is trying to assume MLK's mantle then I say good for him and "GOD SPEED", because MLK was not just for the rights of Black America, but for the rights of all Americans. Obama is a tough, smart candidate who really cares for all Americans. If Hillary Clinton were to win that would still be Americas finest hour as well, because women have been overlooked historically as well as blacks.

Once again, A black man argues against the use of race........ Except when he can use it to get what he wants. A black man can call a woman a "ho" but a rodio guy who is makes a show of Satire, is a racist and gets fired. A black man can call someone the N-word and alot do frequently, byt if anyone else says it, they are a racist. While I dont use or approve of either, I further disaprove of a black man using it for his own benfit. All we need is again to have a President that is on the mindset of " do as I say, not as I do".

I liked him at first, but the more he speaks, and comapres himself to Dr King, I have to say Mr Barack, you are no Dr King ".

it seems like obama is in adream world as far ashis statements go after his loss i nevada hen claims to have picked up 13 delagates to clintons 12. it seem the officials were very amazed as the hadn't even selected the delegates as yet/mr obama has done every thing he can to turn this into a racial issue.

Obama just lost my vote. This country is in too deep a mess for any of the candidates to play the race or gender cards. It's simply self-serving, and it's a step backward!

  • Posted By: sawalsborn @ 01/17/2008 10:20:11 PM

Obama talks a great talk , the same as Hillary, but there is big difference, he has little experience
in goverment, where she as knowledge and experience. Everyone should stop and check his
background. We cannot at this time with the state our country is in ,to vote for Obama, just because he
would be our first black president . That would be admirable but we have to think who can help us at this time when are having trouble all over the world.and our country is in remission or close.

This isn't about black, white, man, or woman. This is about bringing a MAJOR change to Washington. And I would like to know exactly what you think the role of first lady is in government. There is no role. She was just the wife of a president. She may have a FEW more years in the U.S. Senate than Obama, but Obama also has experience in the Illinois state legislature. That IS government, too!
And as far as the first black president thing, Hillary has played the gender card so many times ("I think having the first woman president would be a huge change"), it's disgusting.

Yes, his rise to glory in Illinois was based on the fact that his two opponents for the house and the senate both were mired in scandal just as the election got in gear. He was lucky and had a soft time of it. And he should be careful about assuming MLK's mantle, because, unlike most American Blacks, he does not have ancestors who suffered for generations from slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, KKK, etc. His dad was a Kenyan professional. As for Hillary Clinton, I believe she was in on the ground floor at the White House, and I give her credit for blazing the trail on national health care. Remember, any participation on her part in Bill Clinton's administration is not something he would want to admit; all presidents safeguard their legacies. This is the wife-in-the-family-business dilemma: she does the work invisibly and without pay and it doesn't go on her resume. Of course, we can't confirm that! I look at John Edwards as my favorite anyway, and he's getting shafted by the Big Media. He started out as a working-class kid who built his career and made his fortune on the bones of big corporations, he took them to court and stripped away the shiny facade to reveal their greed, negligence, and culpability. He's been the one to spearhead all the issues in the campaign, HC and Obama copy him and they get the press. The media just love this King Kong vs. Godzilla, White Woman vs. Black Man crap, and all the while, the tough, smart candidate who really cares for the American people is being ignored. He's the real threat to the powers that be.

Please explain EXACTLlY what Hillary's experience has been. She may have slept in the white house for 8 years, but that didn't make her a world class negotiator for peace. In fact she had no authorization that would allow her to speak and make agreements on behalf of the USA.

obama is all fluff and no substance ! with even the news media constantly bashing Hillary one thought comes to mind . these news medias are owned by big business are worried if Hillary gets the nomination
she will win the general election , If obama is elected the republicans stand a better chance of getting
another 4 years of the status quo, and they can continue to widen the gap between the rich and the middle class. i pray Hillary gets the nomination but if not Bloomberg better step in so there is someone to vote for.

Obama and experience: Obama had a bill passed that all lobbyist the provide funds to a politician, etc must disclose themselves and the reasons for their contribution (or to similar effects). If Obama did not have experience dealing with Washington, legislature and White House affairs, how can he have a bill passed to have a sense of govern ship over lobbyist?

FYI, Now that this information is readily available, why don't you people do a little homework and find out which candidates are being supported by what companies and which of those companies are considered lobbyist? You may be surprised whose campaign receives a lot of support from lobbyist! Some Americans may ask "who cares or what is a lobbyist?" Let me give an example EVERYONE can relate to... Do you see the rollercoaster effects of gasoline costs across this continent? Does it seem rather unusual that there is little the president can do about it? Why do you think so? If you study a bit on our politics you may find that the lobbyist have a LOT to do with this and the government having little control over the up and down costs is not so coincidental as it may appear! To disclose this information about lobbyist gives the senate, house, etc an idea who is accepting basically bribe dollars for negotiated power from lobbyist...

If Obama was all about harming America, why would he be behind several bills just to make our lives easier? He was also involved with a tax reform and to my knowledge, several other bills that reflect directly on our everyday lives and are to our advantage. Its okay to speak on having "good ideas" but what good leadership comes down to is one having the ability to be EFFECTIVE!! Do a little research people; you may be surprised to find that Barack Obama may be the ONLY candidate that has the ability and proved his ability to be completely and thoroughly EFFECTIVE at getting things started and finished; even when it comes to legislative issues (the so called ???experience??? issue of this debate???the man???s got experience).

Again, this is by my research, results and personal opinion. But I am hoping that explaining HOW I???ve come to my decision becomes a method that can be realized by a few. Expect so much of the ???common??? talk to be gossip and potentially mud slinging nonsense to deprive or defame character; it is a race for the most powerful seat in the country after all. Try to dig a little deeper than the surface information. Show the media that you are NOT going to let them steal your freedom to think, have an opinion, obtain the facts and make an informed decision. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!! If the media seems to be unfair with the debates and your questions or concerns DON???T get answered, get in contact with the candidates campaign office near you! Ask questions, email the candidate! There are many other alternatives rather than relying on the media to provide information.

NEWSWEEK AND JUSTIN BANK ARE OBVIOUSLY IN BED WITH THE CLINTONS, TO BLATANTLY ENGAGE IN SUCH DIRTY PROPAGANDA WORK, REGARDLESS OF STATEMENTS ISSUED BY FACTCHECK.ORG THAT OBAMA'S AD CAPTION WAS TRUTHFULLY AN ACCURATE QUOTE OF THE HEADLINE OF THE AP ARTICLE.
    Posted By: Smillie @ 01/17/2008 7:08:23 PM

Comment: From Fact check.org: Correction, Jan. 17: We originally reported that the AP story didn???t include the quote used in the ad. We were looking at the final version sent on the AP wire that day. But the Obama campaign contacted us to point out, correctly, that an earlier version of that story included those words as a headline. Look for yourself - http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obamas_creative_clippings_part_deux.html

Ironically, on this very day, Newsweek, HYPOCRITICALLY QOUTING FACTCHECK.ORG, publishes a detailed article debunking an anti-Clinton video posted on YouTube as far

    back as October.

NEWSWEEK'S DIRTY TRICKS EXPOSED! "Mr. Bank is being every bit as misleading as he claims Obama to be in regards to his claim that the Associated Press article. I notice he links the AP, but not the actual article. Why is that? I found the article, written by Mr. Mike Glover, and while the phrase "Obama offers universal health care plan" is not found in the article, it was, in fact, the TITLE of the article. Since Mr. Bank

does not want to offer a link to support his claim (since it's erroneous) I'll be happy to do him the favor: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/29/AR2007052901539.html
