I could even see the design on the bottom of it. what made me look up was I could see stars then all at once I couldn't above us but I could see stars out from the side of us. My name is Michael K. McGuin I am living in Wichita Kansas now.

Did yall ever stop to think that its happening to us "ARMAGEDDON"

This article is so full of psycho-babble it's ridiculous. Scientists and so-called "educated persons" can't for one second open their minds to the possibility that there are things supernatural and cosmic that they simply can't explain. They prefer to dismiss it as something psychological and "hide their head in the sand" rather then face the truth.

Anyone else feel it is highly suspect that the air force comes out with a cover up story after revealing initially no training was going on in the area of stephenville? Sounds vaguely familiar to the phoenix lights story in which a week later after a the incident a maryland air guard squadron stated they were performing training exercises over the area

someday soon the government has to admit there is something out ther besides us, too many everyday, ordinary people have seen something not of this world, wake up government we are not blind and stupid !

    • Posted By: wheresyourevidence @ 01/25/2008 11:46:23 PM

who cares what the government says? Since when do intelligent people have to wait around for the government to tell us it's ok to think? Face it, the government will never admit anything to anyone about anything. They only throw out tidbits of information when FORCED to by the public.

You all know this talk about UFO's and Aliens are figments of our imagination is the purest of bullshit. Look at the universe, earth is just a dot, why should we think we are alone, what makes us so special, afterall, even God himself was sorry he created us. I guess after he was sorry he decided to try again on other planets. So much people can't be imagining things and if it was imagination, why are governments spending so much money, that could be put to better use here om earth, in trying to find other life in space. Come on, this is a new age we are living in, stop bullshitting people and just uncover your cover ups.

This Schick guy wants us all to not make fun of "UFO spotters" and to believe that these people had "real experiences...", that these experiences "have scientific explanations", yet he states that those people are paranoid or have "paranormal experiences". That just tells me 'basically speakin' "although we don't have a clue what they saw, but whatever they believed they saw was just their mind wanting to think they were seeing an UFO. Which means they are crazy and paranoid." This Schick guy doesn't make any sense.

I'll take one very narrow focus on the article: I don't think the article's explanation of standard mind dynamics (such as projection and use of perception to create a story) contradicts religious experience or God. In fact, religions (such as Zen) that seek a very deep religious experience where the self is transcended and one's 'true nature' (indistinct from whatever has always been) is seen (enlightenment) show the practitioner these mechanisms to ensure they don't become mired in what are essentially false images. For me, the experience of God is something that transcends the dualistic self and is not the various experiences that are projected from a dualistic-based brain. So ... this just underscores what some religions have always known: to get to a real and transforming experience of God means that one should be aware of the mind's projection mechanism in order to avoid confusing experiences with the Ultimate experience which is what really brings joy and peace.

Pretty narrow minded to think we are the only life in this vast universe. And of course we could never believe that some other life form could have more technology than the human race.

This isn't about whether or not one believes in UFOs. Its about whether the patent rubbish of evolutionary biology deserves our respect as a discipline. I say NOT!
I'll assume that most of you are like me: confronted by the usual sorts of unknowns you don't enter a dream-like state and start almagamating your life's experiences into some sort of phantasmagoric image to explain it. You analyze and draw analogies instead. Extrapolate the knowns to arrive at the unknown without confusing the two. I think you'll agree it must take something so utterly - forgive the word - ALIEN to our everyday experiences to force us to resort to the unconscious storehouse of memories of the Twilight Zone or SciFi, etc. to explain it and not be aware that our minds are playing a psychological hoax of sorts upon us. In other words even if this were not a flying saucer than what was it that could be so traumatizing to the human psyche to create such a reaction? Such a withdrawal from the real into the realm of the fantastic explanation? It wasn't something merely unfamiliar - we're confronted by the new all the time, each of us and we deal with it realistically - so it wasn't that. No. It had to be something VERY unknown to create such an extreme psychical(hallucinatory) reaction in the witnesses. A something as VERY unknown to us as say the sight of Europeans on horseback was VERY unknown to the Amerinds who thought they were seeing "horse-men" or Centaurs because the horse was utterly new to them at that time (The wild horse had migrated out of N. America to Europe some 40K years earlier)
So this Evolutionary Biological explanation only deepens the mystery not clears it up; so much for Junk Science.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAH. Trees and rocks have spirits... HAHAHAHAHHA. Ok cool. atoms have spirits then, so a helium molecule has a spirit and so does a candy bar, and yogurt and a gold ring and coal and maggots and a lettice leaf. Wow, this is cooll, my sons xbox 360 as a spirit and so does the LCD screen of laptop. Remember matter can neither be created nor destroyed, so it's all part of nature and all has spirits. HAHAHAHAH
