The author of this article is a moron, as well as his "experts".The very fact of closing-off the possibility of more technologically andvanced societies in the universe goes against the very foundations of an open curiosity of the universe, a.k.a."SCIENCE". Things that do not fit into thier paradymes of processing Information are put-off to be invalid, simply because if true would shake thier belief systems to thier core.

Why would UFO's need lights if there is no intergalactical highway? Lights in the night are planes that have their landing lights on. They do this if another plane is close by. Who's to say that the sighting seen was not a goverment device they were testing?

I have never seen a UFO. There are thousands of people who claim they have. Some "explanations" of these sightings are probably founded in truth and reality-some are not. If every sighting can be clearly identified and explained scientifically, this discussion ends here. Is this the case? I, for one, do believe in the possibility of extraterrestrial life. It is presumptuous to assume that we are the only, and most evolved, form of life in the universe. It is human arrogance that deems us capable of explaining everything that occurs around us. Beam me up, Scotty!

UFOs exist! I have pictures which I plan to place on my blog in the near future.

Ursanegra must think the world is flat aswell. I didn't think there were so many simple minded people around in the 21st century. The writer of this article is ignorant.

There is difinitetly a cover-up, because this is the most idiotic explanation I've ever heard. Anyone with half a brain can see this article, and the supposed expert "explanations" for UFO sightings it states, are rediculous. This article just makes me believe that there ARE alien life visiting us. Sorry, pimped "journalist" fiction writers, try again. You'll have to do better than this. (C'mon now, think!)

There are millions upon millions of Galaxies out there. How can anyone even think that we are so unique as to be the only planet inhabited by intelligent people. If we think that, then are we the intelligent ones???

This article might explain away why ONE person might see something and inaccurately describe it, but not dozens who witnessed the same event. I also can't stand it when I hear some scientist claim something is impossible just because of the "laws of physics". These "laws" are actually just a human attempt at understanding the natural universe, and are both incomplete and based only on what we now know and think we understand. That could all change with the next discovery.

Mr Cooper the Stephenville sighting is just one of many, and in my delusional sleep deprived wishful thinking sighting I did not see lights and my eyesight is superior they were not birds, ballons or aircraft it surprised me that I could not explain it. and I have one tiny bit of advice, try looking up at a clear blue sky once in a while you might also experience a reality check. If we are alone , May God help us.

Why would an "alien" spacecraft, regardless from whence it came, and attempting to observe without being seen, have flashing identification lights? Come on people! If such a vehicle is seen, it is from the earth, and abides by international law requiring such lights. People who see UFOs see aircraft which for one reason or another they interpret as unidentified, hence "alien." They are real, but wrongly identified, and definitely not "alien." Nor is there a mass government conspiracy to cover up the existence of real UFOs. There are no "real" UFOs, hence no conspiracy. There is nobody else "out there." We are alone; a cosmic accident at a given place and time in ancient history due to a unique set of circumstances which have not been replicated in time or space. People who look to the sky for unidentified flying objects and "little green" or "little gray" men are guilty of self-fulfilling prophecy; what they hope to see, they will see -- regardless of the evidence. Live long and prosper!

I will tell you all something I used to not really believe until I saw a grouped formation of those little discs/orbs to what seemed like quarters way up high then they dissapear one by one once they have formed a circular arc the time was in the middle of the day with a clear blue sky. It is some surreal reality check type event in my life. The problem here is our Government knows about this phenomena but will not disclose its findings to us becuase of two major reasons. They would be addmitting they had lied to us all these years and secondly there is not a DAMN thing the can do to control these entities which could care less about "our Borders, Airspace, Defense Capabilty, and our Soverigen Laws"

what a crock of b/s i was standing on the tarmack of a navey base with at least 100 others watching a transport take off and we watched a "UFO" come down and circle the plane as it was taking off . i don't think we were suffering from some mass hystiria, give me a damn breaki don't know if they are ours or who's but they are real a god damn fact believe it or stick your head back in the sand

So we only imagine these things because we don't possess the science to explain them yet these phantoms have fooled our radar systems and supposedly even struck an airliner in Mexico.

First off you need to figure out this. Evolution vs Creation? Someones not looking at this from all angles. Just read the Bible.

The article comes close to using Science as a tool to bludgeon those who actually SAW unexplainable objects, and reads like an over rationalized soap opera wherein only deluded nonscientists would ever concoct these sightings . If humans have always seen unexplained objects in the sky, one could just as easily assume that these sightings predate human history as real events tyhan to assume that they are delusions, mass hysteria or mass psychology gone haywire somehow . Unquestioned assumptions are unacceptable in scientific inquiry . Without a doubt, UFO's could be inter-dimensional , and, thus, from a different time . Or these 'craft' might be swamp gas . Modern cosmological 'string theory' could easily account for the former, or not...And the gathering of evidence, including the dispassionate collection personal and subjective data could be a 'scientific' approach to explain 'sightings' , or not . Rational thinking is not a form of discernment designed to make fools of people, or to 'disprove' , scientifically , anything . Our duty here is to honor our experiences, even the ones we cannot explain...yet . The scientific method has always , historically, been culturally contextual . Scientists and their 'believers' need to remember that they were once looked to for having open minds . And those who desperately wish for the 'unknown' to be manifested to them ought to read History because there is very little new under the sun .

It's pretty arrogant to think that we are the most advanced species in the vast and ancient universe, Consider for a moment that there are ancient cave drawings in different parts of the world depicting UFO's and these people had no contact with one another, so you can't say they are all telling the same story, nor were their views influenced by movies...

Disproving something is one of the basic priciples / methods of science, but it's not the only avenue, science is about discovery, facts, and the quest for the unknown, to make the unknown known.

If you don't want to believe that UFO's are possible, then don't, if you want to believe they are possible, then do, but for either side to ridacule each other really shows a major lack of intelligence.

It's rather arrogant to think that WE are the most advanced species in the vast and ancient universe. There are many possibilities, and the fact that there are cave drawings of UFO type sightings in different parts of the world yet are very similar, and that was back when these people did not ever come in contact with each other, lends to the thought that there could be something to it.

If you want to be a skeptic fine be one, if you want to believe, fine believe, but to osricisze either side for what they think, well THAT shows a rather major lack of intelligence.

The UFO believers need to snap out of it. Our governement can spy on us at will without EVER being seen but these 'aliens' who have intersteller technology don't know about stealth? They could find out everything they ever wanted to know about our planet from beyond the moon's orbit at least. And another thing people like to throw scientists under the bus for their biases and such. Scientists are well aware of their failings that is why SCIENCE does not depend on opinions. Since you can't disprove UFO's, it is not a scientific subject. Disproving something is a basic tenet of science (look it up!!!).
