Good one rhondamae. Real good. Not!!!!

Look first off, I happen to be Mexican. And I also support Obama. It just goes to show how naive people can really be, while supporting the same candidate. Its okay, I am not surprised. As an educated Mexican, who was raised by an "illegal", who by the way paid taxes, before she became a resident and eventually a citizen; I was actually born and raised in the states. And your ignorant comments sound more like an attack on immigrants, than a support for Obama. Maybe you should vote for Hucklebee. Lol!
Let me address your ignorant and non-factual comments.

Hillary is a good person I'm sure, but she is not as good leader and motivator as Obama.....period. She just ain't. They don't even compare! They may both be talking rhetoric, but Obama is better at it than Hillary. And in this country, unfortunately, people do not follow records or details as much as they follow rhetoric. An example of this dear "rhondamae" is kind of like your ignorant comments about Mexicans that will bring more attention to the subject despite the FACT that illegals contribute more in taxes and Social Security than actual legal citizens because they are not allowed to file for taxes or get retirement benefits, as we do. In other words, they contribute money that they will not get to get back in tax returns or social security later on. We as citizens and residents also pay that, but we DO get to benefit from our contributions. Fact: illegals contribute more to the U.S. economy than we have spent on the Iraq war. Oh yeah, and that is definitely a case of "taxation without representation," which was probably used to fund the whole damn war to begin with.

You see how rhetoric is more effective?! Don't get upset "rhondamae", its more than obvious that your comments are out of anger that stems from straight ignorance and being naive. Oh yeah, you also did not do your homework. Shame on you. Please research stuff before you share your personal views. There are some Mexicans (actually a lot) that are way smarter than you and we are not going anywhere. We are here to stay, procreate and eventually run things. Its only a matter of time before we have our own Realistic candidates, with real Spanish surnames running for President. FYI: MCheico is not Mexican. Its probably irish or german or English or something of the sort. You probably know those names more than I. Lol! I can't help but to wonder how the future will seem in 30 years when you are really the minority. That is why you hate. Ha ha ha! Keep hating, in the meantime, we'll keep supporting Obama, until our time comes. I bet you'll really be mad when that time comes huh. Bye. Or maybe I should say "Adios"

God bless you Eleanor Clift. The Clinton machine keeps doing what they know how to do best.Always DIVIDING people and groups.I hope America wakes up to the fact that the only way to bring legislations into law is to bring the two parties together and get stuff done.
Even with 35 years of experience,if you can't get people to come together for the goal of the common people, you will be a total failure!! Obama has the best judgement to LEAD.

I have an idea. While I love Hillary, my gut tells me that even if she gets the Dem nomination, she will face an uphill battle in the general election because Republicans hate her, and Bill for that matter. Barack, on the other hand, has not convinced me that he has the experience this country needs to implement the "change" that he is speaking of. Not immediately anyways. So, for what it's worth, I'm thinking a Barack-Clinton pairing would be a 1-2 punch to the current policies and Washington mentality and start the "change" process immediately. What better way to put your money where your mouth is than by electing an African-American as President and a Woman as Vice-President. Look, all the candidates obviously want the nomination and each of the 3 major contenders could be the next President, but to really bring the Dem party together, we need a team that has a combination of leadership abilities and experience. I, for one, am looking forward to a Obama-Clinton ticket this November.

Wake up! Obama isn't uniting anyone, he's dividing the Democratic party. He is a sham.

Eloquent article! Obama had my vote before and still does!

  • Posted By: Adeline @ 01/18/2008 11:35:31 PM

Excellent - I believe Obama's integrity and consistency ring out loud and clear. He is not perfect, but pretty close to anything I've seen so far or could hope for. He is bringing the 'hope' word back into our vocabulary - he is giving us a reason for being. I cannot see anyone unifying anybody, anyone rising above the fray, anyone trying their level best to be objective and sticking to facts or being gracious.

Your article says it eloquently. Thank you.

Comment: Senator Obama is already preaching about uniting the entire country. Therefore, to unite only the democrats shouldn't be a big deal. Let's put him in the helm of affairs to get us going for our own good.
    God bless America.

The best, to the point story I have read in a week! I have to admit I enjoy seeing Hillary having to really get out and work for the vote. Obama deserves the nomination just for getting this far. Wow!

Eleanor raised the seldom cited point that all doubts of Barack Obama's aptitude for managing the complexity of a Presidential Administration were wiped away when he decisively defeated the Clinton War Machine at the Iowa Caucuses. This was no small feat, and is a testament to his exceptional leadership ability. Experience is no substitute for good judgment and trustworthiness, and in this category Obama has Clinton outdone in spades.

If Hillary has the Experience to lead , then why didn't this get stopped by her expertise ??????

how can we trust a candidate that has the record of influence , and what does this say about the experience to lead , if these kinds of influences are not caught right up front , how can Hillary claim she has the right experience to stop these kinds of Illegal affairs , that even still is willing to take the funds , only to give them back , once the spot light has been cast upon them and their corruption of generating the finds like this example ;Clinton to Return Funds from Fundraiser Hsu
    http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14316806 .

I mean these people have to have a constant policing going on around them 24 / 7 , or we the people get manipulated to death , and so how can you trust em , and why should we start right out worrying about this kind of stuff ????

I like the Idea Barack Obama has about a Leader needing to be able to pick the right people to run the body of Government .

Barack Obama , the candidate for Peace and Prosperity can get the job done with Dignity and class , to restore the hope for the future of all .
Thanks for your time and have a Great day in the USA .

I believe that the democratic party should pass the torch of freedom to a new generation, namely Barak Obama.

The comments below particularly by rhondamae are indicative of the trouble the party is in-we need both inspiration and experience and have two candidates who offer what the other one lacks the last time it happened it was called Clintion-Gore. But I fear that all the Clinton bashing will seriously tick folks off who were already questioning Obama's record etc. Just like the Obama bashing makes folks scared of the race card. Coments like those of rhondamae do not reflect thoughtful consideration particular her stereotyping of hispanic voters yet she does remind me of the type of people the democratic nominee will face in November from the GOP--narrow minded, clearly racist, and when failing to produce facts will launch into personal attacks.

I completely agree with the author of this article. MCheico or whoever the hell u are, u need 2 do ur homework buddy. But then I can guess by ur username that ur probably mexican. Probably her illegally like the rest of the 50 or 60 % of the south west. 1st of all Hillary Clinton has wanted to be president since her husband got elected. Tha's why the majority of U.S. Senate hates her so much!! She's pushy, arrogant, pias, and tries to portray an image like she's Queen of a small village and the american people are her peasants that should feel privillaged that she's in their presence. Her arrogance at the Las Vegas debates was so obvious it sickened me. Hillary Clinton is not for unions, which is why she failed to get the Culinary Unions endorsement. Unlike u, MCheio, they did thier homework!! Hillary was the 1st woman on the board of directors for WalMart, which by the way MCheico is against unions. Did u know that MCheico?? I didn't think so!! Instead of falling in line with the rest of the uneducated, illegal immigrants who have stupidly been seduced by Hillary's pipe dream, u need to do ur research on what Hillary Clinton really stands for. Because the same idiots that proudly stand behind Hillary, will be the same IDIOTS she forgets about should she somehow, miraculuosly, win the big race. Better wake ur dumb ass up Mcheico!!! Goooo OBAMA!!!!!!!

Comment: "Hillary cannot deliver what she promises. She had already 35 years to do it and was not able to accomplish it" {This time she would be "the decider"} . "boring, nerd like who knows every policy detail to a T"
Yep we sure dont want a President who knows details , look how great George Bush is." If this was a job application for the President of a major industry, this contest would not be close. If you believe Obama can get Exxon Mobil to buy into the dream of reducing their obscene corporate profits, If you believe the pharmaceutical companies want to give up billions in profit becuase they will be galvanized by this bottom up Obama movement, you are being naive. The problem with this country is greed. Greed knows no conscience. We need someone who can shake these bastards up. Hillary has the knowlege and the tenacity to do it. Every other candidiate from both sides I can see the potential for them to get lazy in office. Everyone except Hillary. Dont blow this election. It may be the biggest decision of our lives.

I agree wholeheartedly. This thing will implode on the Democrats if they don't find a way to navigate this fiasco. It doesn't bode well for any candidate if they divide they're base--One that's more than willing to come to the polls in droves come election time. They'll actually have to do more than just call a truce. They'll have to proactively combat this issue. If they don't succeed then the GOP has found a crack in which to launch a whisper assault the likes McCain and Kerry have never seen.

The difference between Obama and Clinton? One gives very inspirational speeches and not much policy behind it. The other is boring, nerd like who knows every policy detail to a T. Who would you rather have, a great visionary who give just great speeches as a president ( which is basically what a president gets paid to do). or a boring, monotone, nerd like president that has the worse laugh in the history of politics. Choice is clear, OBAMA 08. Out with the old, in with the new.

Clinton divides this country before she even has the job, she is a Washington Insider and part of the problem. Obama hasn't been in Washington long enough to become tarnished , and he understands that real change comes from the bottom up , with the will of the people behind you.

Clinton divides this country before she even has the job. Obama can and well unite this country because , he understands that real change comes from the bottom up , with the will of the American people behind you.
