I am a woman and wish that woman would stop and think. Voting for a woman just because she is a woman can be dangerous and in this case is. HIllary in the white house will be worse than Bill. With Bill his foibles were not the kind that should have impacted his Presidency, they were personal issues. Hillary's foibles are far worse in that she is of the same make up as W. She is arrogant, beligerant, self centered, self serving and can not look beyond what she wants. She is even more autocratic and dictatorial than Bush. She will be just as, if not more, divisive than W could imagine being. As a woman and a mother, reading her child like self centered behavior is easy. Women need to look beyond the excitement of having a woman in office to their intuitive natures and see her for what she is. This country will be worse off. Any woman who would stay with a man who cheated on her that many times does so for selfish reasons and those reasons have nothing to do with her child, they have to do with strictly self needs. Money and power. Her motivator. What she taught her daughter and other women is a BAD example. Let your husband have 12 year affairs, let your husband humiliate you and your children over and over and over and over again. Marriage means nothing, family means nothing. Let him do it so long as sticking with him means your greed and hunger for power is fulfilled. I don't admire her for trying to teach women and children that men can treat you like dirt over and over and over again. Women want equality, but are voting for a selfish baby who set us back decades in her example.

Yes, Obama is young and still full of vigor and fresh ideas, and he still has this thought in his head that the country doesn't have to be given away to the guys with the biggest checkbook. The color of your skin, or your religion, (or gender) shouldn't be the basis for exclusion and that is what our country's founders intended. Conversely, it shouldn't be the reasons for which to vote for someone. The average American Voter should support the person who will be loyal to the Most of [U.S.]. It is time, 70 years later, to send 'Mr.Smith' back to Washington

Raciscm has been institutionalized on both sides of the political spectrum since this country was founded. The Latino vote is the x factor in this election and is going to be Jebb BUsh's bread and butter in four years. Racial tensions are high between latino's and blacks, however they share the same economic concerns. Both Hispanics and Blacks prospered in the ninety's.Think where African AMericans were before Clinton. Vernon Jordon is a prime example of why African Americans like Bill Clinton. African Americans fought for civil rights but are the least to benefit from it, instead white women have benefited the most from LINDeN JOHNSON"S CIVIL RIGHTS LEGISLATION/ Martin Luther was the Architect that penetrated Washington and drafted modern civil rights legislation. It was Martin Luther's relationship with Bobby Kenney and JFK that allowed Civil Rights to become a reality. THe first civil rights legislation was actually written in the ninety thirty's but that is a whole other story.

  • Posted By: eddiewhere @ 01/20/2008 12:39:33 PM

So, it is a fact that White Women have benefited the most from civil rights legislation and hold high ranking positions throughtout American society. Hillary Clinton represents a faction of the civil rights movement and Obama another. Hillary's faction has proven to be stronger. And ironically her faction is the one that benefited the most from civil rights. . Obama's x factor is not race but unity. What brings unity, economic success for the average JOE.

There is only one unifying issue in this country and that is the ECONOMY, mONEY, DOLLARS, and that is why women with children are coming out in record numbers to support Hillary. They believe that Hillary can directly address their soccer mom concerns, education, health care and the economy.
Obama can counter this by proposing sweeping middle class tax cuts. Hillary Clinton has not been specific on this issue. If the MIDDLE CLASS FEELS THAT OBAMA can actually imPlement a middle class revolution then race will no longer be a factor and Obama will be able to cross over and take a chunk of the white vote. THis revolution would include dealing with outsourcing, programs for the middle class that show them how to save, invest, plan and avioid debt. Thesel subjects are not taught in school. The middle class has been the victim of corporate indoctrination. Stay StuPid. They do not want you to double your money they want you to double their money. Every middle class family should be able to do compound interest problems in their heads. It can be learned in grade two. It is a very useful skill to have because it gives you a lightning fast benchmark to determine how good (or not so good) a potential investment is likely to be.
The rule says that to find the number of years required to double your money at a given interest rate, you just divide the interest rate into 72. For example, if you want to know how long it will take to double your money at eight percent interest, divide 8 into 72 and get 9 years. If the Middle Class can make better financial decisions it would have a profound affect on the economy.
The rule A stronger middle class will make the rich richer in the long run and helP uPlift the Poor.

I am dismayed that the Clintons are in the process of dividing the Democratic party for their own quest for power. If she gets the nomination I will cast my vote for a republican or a thrid party candidate for the first time in my life. I am 100% behind Barrack Obama.

Clinton supporters, be careful with your vote, you'll be casting it for YOUR future prez, you're NOT casting it for Hillary!
Will she be able to function in the office, while who knows at home, or travelling on the road, what will be happening to BILL? He already STRAYED while she was AT HOME. Now she'll be busy in the office, can you guarantee he won't stray again? WILL SHE BE ABLE TO FUNCTION?
Will you tolerate a prez who is constantly worried about HER own home, neglecting YOUR country?

Whether Black , White, Hispanic, Other, or a combination thereof, we need to hear how YOU are going to set things right ! Let the Republican candidates makes a- holes of themselves by knocking each other ! Slamming other Dems is bad for you, the Democratic Party, and the country. Keep giving us YOUR IDEAS !!!!!

As one smart blogger noted today, ???In the face of tough situations and defeat, it is disappointing to watch Obama's behavior contradict his rhetorics for positive change. He has been dismissive of Clinton while uplifting of Reagan. That instigates division among democrats. He was quick to acknowledge a black man's contribution to civil rights and totally unrecognizing of other white men's contribution and even spanned racist sentiment against Hillary for equalizing the contributions of MLK with Johnson's. That instigates division among Americans. When he lost in Nevada he lost his grace and whined, even suggesting the others did not run a clean campaign. His campaign even gave misleading statements about the delegate-winning process. If he's not ready, he's not ready. It's tougher in national elections. He cannot be whining and accusatory all the time. If he thinks being ordinarily candid about questions like "what's your weakness" is good, he's being naive. His answer is not wrong but it's not the kind that will come prudent and respectable in the world stage and even presidential league. No president can be perfect but America cannot go from one extreme (GWBush) to another extreme (BHObama). The experienced person can fail and there is greater probability that an inexperienced person would fail. Obama is running for the presidency now, not because he is called for a vision, but because he is compelled by a favourable condition. His candidacy is not about hope. His hope is about his candidacy. ???

As for Obama???s aides and the latest misinformation from the Obama campaign ??? keep spinning, we are not listening???you are an Obomination to the democratic process AND your candidate???

I can't cover up my feelings
    as I chant Barack Obama
    Fired up, ready to go
    Or play it safe
    By voting for Hillary Clinton
    Just because she???s a woman

For a while Hillary was an easy choice
    She was a Democrat
    Until Barack Obama came along
I???ve lived to see my dream

And if living to realize my dream
    Is what I'm guilty of
    Go on and sentence me
    I'll still be free

    It's my turn
To see what I can see
    I hope you'll understand America
    This time's just for me

    Because it's my turn
    With no apologies
I'll cast my vote for Barack Obama
It???s me I???ll have to please

    But now it's my turn
And what I know for sure
    Barack Obama is the answer
    Oprah lets raise our voices
    Yes, it???s our turn
    It???s our turn

    With no apologies
I'll cast my vote for Barack Obama
It???s me I???ll have to please

    It???s my turn
At least this one thing I know
I'll take my share of chances
???Cause ain't no use of holding on
    To Washington politics as usual
Let it rain, Barack Obama speaks change
    And not the lobbyist game
That will rule Hillary Clinton hand

    So I'll let change rain
    'Cause change is good
    Let the Republicans go
Though I know it won't be easy
For those who fear tasting true freedom

    It's my turn
With no more room for lies
For years I've seen my life
    Go down the drain
    Through the Republicans eyes

    And now it's my turn
To try and find a way
    To ensure it???s Hillary lost
Because Barack Obama owns this race

    It's my turn
    Yes, it's my turn
And there ain't no use in holding on
    To Washington politics as usual
    When Barack Obama speaks change
    And not the same
    Lobbyist game

    So I'll let change rain
    'Cause change is good
    Let the Republicans go
Though I know it won't be easy
For those who fear tasting true freedom

    It's my turn
To see what I can see
    I hope you'll understand
    This time's just for me

    Because it's my turn
    To turn and say goodbye
I???m sure would like to know
That Republicans are not on my side

    Because it's my turn
    It's my turn

    To go for number one
    Trying to undo
    The Bush-Cheney legacy
And the damages that they???ve done

    But now it's my turn
To reach and touch the sky
    No one's gonna say
    At least I didn't try

    It's my turn
    Yes, it's my turn
To cast my vote for change
I want the world to know
    Barack Obama is his name

    Let change rain
    Let it rain

To believe the hope I see
    On my knees I???ll pray
The Lord chose Barack for me

    It's my turn
To cast my vote for change
I won???t the world to know
    Barack Obama is his name

In all truth, I am black, well educated and I am a New Hampshire resident and I have supported Bill Clinton in the past for both terms and I was a dedicated Clinton voter no matter what. Until recently, I would vote for Chelsea if she ran for President. That all changed in one "defining moment." One day, a Hillary campaign volunteer came to my door and tried to sell me on the Clinton ticket. Of course, I already made up my mind to go Clinton but, I refused to disclose this information to the volunteer because I felt this was my privacy and I didn't want it to be preyed upon. As she was a persistent little bugger, I finally told her I was going to vote for Obama just for giggles. She became shrewd and arrogant and the next thing that came out of her mouth TRULY blown me away! She said and I quote "It is good to see that an African-American is showing support for his fellow African-American."

Now don't get me wrong, she was white, probably in her early 20's and maybe a ???newbie??? to the college and campaigning scene. I didn't want to make her look bad but I felt obligated to say something. I told her, "My choice to choose my candidate was based on a little more substance than the commonality of race." Then I remembered one of Obama's speeches when he was talking about his character. I asked her, "where you even born when John F. Kennedy ran for president?" "What about Attorney General Robert Kennedy?" "How about President Ronald Reagan?" Well she could not tell me much about any of them so I would assume she was quite young. So I went on telling her, "I based my decision on character. The genuine, honest, loyal character that demonstrates the kind of integrity that THESE people stand for is something I hear when I listen to Barack Obama." If commonality in race were the issue, why would I have had some faith in the integrity of all these white men?" She stepped away from my door apologizing for disturbing me and went on to the next.

You see, I know something about the humble character of my fellow residence; then CAN be blindly intimidated. That visit bothered me because, any candidate should assign managers that have the ability to find and weed out characters that can harm your message or misrepresent your purpose. This young woman did NOT help Hillary in my eyes! In fact, she did her campaign a grave dis-service! I don't blame her but I do blame Hillary. Why? Because it would appear that her experience failed at this point. She doesn???t??? have good managerial skills. She will be dealing with and delegating people resources more than any paper on her desk! These people can and will easily help or harm the presidency or the American people. When I got to the polls, I changed my vote to Obama!!

what a bunch of bs. do you honestly expect hilary to personally vet every one of her supporters? if u're an obama supporter, just say so. do make up fairytales of how u switched. his story is flimsy at best.

As an African American if Hillary was the only person on the ballot I will not vote for her. National talks are being discussed regarding a National Blackout. If the Clintons think African Americans will support them after what we have experienced in this campaign, they need to think twice. We are sick of the Democratic party taking our votes for granted and the blatant disenfranchisement of African American voters, therefore we can safely conclude, we have nothing to lose. For some strange reason, Hillary has entitlement issues and feel that Bill's experience is transferable, it is Not. So, to the Clinton campaign as well as the Democratic Party prepare for a Republican president tbecause to be frank--we are fed up!

Single Mothers with children are looking to Sen. Obama, because he could better relate to their struggles, and will be the only candidate that will stand up to Congress with boldness and say you will not deny the poor and the middle class with assistance to provide for their family, affordable child care, insurance, food, home ownership, quality medical care and education, and a better economy to live within. Bill Clinton is "OVERSHADOWING" his wife. This was displayed when he attempted to defend Sen. Clinton comments about former President LBJ, on Black radio. I felt the anger from him, across the airways, and as a Black voter, the vibe I received from former President Clinton, was "I stood by you N....., and now you're turning your backs on us.....so what if Barack Obama is Black? ???You owe me???. For us, kill your dreams. Who is running for President, Bill or Hillary? Hillary has to show America that she could fight her own battles, and defend her position. If she does not show the world that she could keep her husband mouth shut, it is going to ultimately hurt her bid for the Presidency. Former President Bill Clinton is angry because he realizes that Barack Obama will beat Hillary, when those two square off. When you are fearful, you attack what poise a threat. Former President Clinton is angry and thinking out loud, ???I will be daman if I let a Black Man beat Hillary! We are superior to the Black race..Barack Obama (A Black Man) cannot lead me. No way in Hell. This is the vibe I am getting from the Clinton Campaign. It hurts that he thinks African-Americans cannot lead effectively, it hurts because if Hillary Campaign Manager decides to run for President against her one day, they will crucify her, it hurts because they just simply say, African-Americans are not worthy of such a high office. That is why African-Americans need Barack Obama to stop the hurt. We get it from both ends; Republicans and Democrats with a Superiority attitude.

Barak Obama has a lot of charisma and superior communication skill. If the presidential election is about charm, then he wins hands down. But, what new ideas of change did he propse? Where is the beef? He is well short in ammo in that department. Besides, a vote for Obama translates as a vote for the Republican. Democrats will miss a great opportunity, if Obama is their candidate.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues will provide you with the AMMO you are looking for. Don't believe Hillary and the News when saying OBAMA isnt specific on any Issue. EVERY ISSUE and Proposed Obama Policy is Clearly layed out IN WRITING at http://www.barackobama.com/issues. TAKE TIME and READ what OBAMA will offer... Dont judge without taking time. CLINTON is not more experienced, you have just heard HER say it enough that people have excepted that B.S. BILL Clinton was President, NOT Hillary... Hello! She is only starting her 2ND Term as an Elected Official.

      • Posted By: Bahubrihi @ 01/19/2008 11:26:25 PM

I guess we just believe you!

        • Posted By: justinwilshire1 @ 01/20/2008 4:28:30 AM

I believe in being open minded. That is why when I began to doubt if there
was any substance to Obama's policies I visited his website. I found on this point I was
wrong and he has laid out some details of some policies in a lot of areas and he does have some good proposals.
On the other hand if you want to see substance, Hillary's speech to the auto workers for 45 minutes in California last week showed her elucidating proposal and policy point after point all from her experience with no notes and in great detail.
It was amazing to see the depth of her knoweldge on the issues and her definite
ideas of what needs to be done in so many areas.
I haven't seen Obama talk too much in his speeches on specific policies. He does however have and has stated them on his website in pretty good detail.
No as regards to Hillary's experience what I read here in criticism saying she's only a two term Senator, they are dead wrong. Not only is she one of the most detail oriented and hard working Senator in office now, but she had plenty of experience during the Clinton Administration with health care, and before that she did decades of work as an attorney and political organizer, not to mention her work which earned her degrees and the scholarly
work that she wrote decades ago has become in the area of how to work with children
a classic that is still referred to by experts in the field today.
This woman is no slouch. She not only worked hard for the Dems and President Carter but was named the one of the 10 most influential lawyers (and while and always a woman) in the U.S. was influential in the Watergate investigations and hearings, was on the Board of Directors of Wal-Mart, a first for a woman, and in the field of education she did more than the surface P.R. type of work that wives of Governors do, she had tremendous influence on not only the Arkansas educational system but also a far reaching effect nation and world wide.
Womens' issues and human rights are also something she has spent decades working very hard to promote.
So I'll admit I was wrong about Obama having no depth to his proposals, but give Hillary a break. She's probably the most experienced and nuturing well educated shrewd lawyer, and watch out businessmen like Willard Romney, quite a business women also!
The other thing I don't understand however is that Obama has complained that he was being repeatedly referred to as Barack Hussein Obama in the last week before the caucuses.
THAT IS IS NAME FOR CYRIN OUT LOUD. If he doesn't want to be referred to by his name, then he should make a speech like Mormon Romney did about his Religion not being a drawback.
Thus the name! I don't see anyone saying don't call the Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton or whatever! Barack Hussein Obama is the man's name! Maybe he should change it.

Good for you nys9940 - LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN! The only viable candidate is Hillary Clinton! But, many are either too jealous or too ignorant to vaote for a woman. (As one so-called supporter of women's rights at a to U. exclaimed - "a woman will get another chance, so why should I put my support behind one now!" As I said, IDIOTS -

SJIS, I believe the only IDIOTS are those who have deeply rooted in their hearts, that Barack Obama, a Black Man, can't beat Hillary and the other Republican candidates. You remember the saying, "if you can't beat 'em, join them". It's ok to vote for Barack Obama when your friends aren't looking. Shuuu, I won't tell".
