COMPARE the WRITTEN out PROOF of their Stances on the Issues! HILLARY outlines a brief policy on 12 issues... OBAMA outlines an extremely detailed policy on 20 issues. LOOK FOR YOURSELF at their Websites:

BIG DIFFERENCE: OBAMA HAS THE BEEF!

Yeah. However it is a policy, or rather a set of vague promises, which all read as though he has the assurance that there will be Divine intervention to help him, for nothing but Divine intervention could accomplish what he says he will do. I believe this is a measure of the man's immaturity and inexperience in that he believes that by merely saying he will do something he can do it. If he is the Democratic nominee then I assuredly will vote for him because I believe him to be a far better option than any of the empty suited Republican Neanderthals, but I equally hope that he is not the nominee. He needs more time and more experience and needs to learn to differentiate betwwen what is desirable and what is possible or else he will waste vast amounts of his enormous talent and energy in pursuing the wrong path. Bush did this because of stupidity; Obama will do it because of a misplaced estimate of his ability. Also, and you may call this racist if you wish but I prefer pragmatic, I don't believe he can win and his nomination will keep the White House in the hands of the Republicns. I have lived extensively in what we shall call the "Hinterland" in the Northwest, Upper Midwest, Southwest, Texas and the South and these people will no more vote for a black man as President than they would vote for Osama bin Laden. As I said, he has my vote, but that and the votes of every black person and every white liberal will not overcome the votes of the the "Hinterland" white majority.

        Go Hillary!

Bill Clinton is "OVERSHADOWING" his wife. This was displayed when he attempted to defend Sen. Clinton's comments about former President LBJ, on Black radio. I felt the anger from him, across the airways, and as a Black voter, the vibe I received from former President Clinton, was "I stood by you N....., and now you're turning your backs on us.....so what if Barack Obama is Black, you owe me". For us, kill your dream!

I don't like Barack Obama. I don't see why people are mezmerized by him. I see coldness in him. I can't feel his soul. I think many American, too, lack a soul, so they are mezmerized. People must wake up from the zombie state. Obama has no experience to be president. He has no humility. He is not for real.

In an atmosphere overflowing with misinterpretations and statements that were out of line on both sides,
the situation between these two campaigns seems to have been inevitable. It is to both Clinton and Obama's credit that by the date of the Nevada debate they decided to declare a truce/
The problem is that, first of all the historic nature of a woman possibly becoming President, though not to make little of the first viable African American candidate, is much greater in that the scope and sheer history in terms of thousands of years of oppression of women throughout the world is undeniably far greater
than the admittedly unjust and horrific treatment that Blacks have been dealt.
Hillary's candidacy is definitely about a huge step for women, who represent more than half the entire human race. Obama's choice to run with only 2 years in the Senate and not wait, has divided the Dems. no matter how much he has valiantly been a representative of the ideal and idea of unity and of course a marvelous orator. Still his decision to run threatened a historic step ahead for women all over the world and has been inherently divisive. It may have been truer to his ideal of unity to have waited a few more years to run.

As a woman, I agree that women have been oppresses for centuries. However, in this country, even when suppressed, women were put on a pedestal...especially white women. Black men on the other hand...well you know your history. I'm tired of hearing the "wait your turn" defense. Why does everyone act like a woman should be in the WH before a black person???

Actually, I would love to see a woman in the WH, just not Hillary. If she gets the nomination, I'll be voting Republican for the first time in my ife.

Please don't take this correction personally but, Obama served more than two years total in the senate. He was both a junior Senator and a U.S. Senator. Hillary only served one term as a U.S. Senator. Funny thing is if you were TRULY trying to find the pro points on your candidates you would have researched their backgrounds a little deeper. Obama IS responsible for getting several bills passed through legislature that has made nationwide impact. For example, his association with the tax reform that instituted earned-income credits. For the protection of citizens as well as members in law enforcement, it is required that interrogation surveillance is operable at all times (including dash cams) are just two to mention (and I will let you finish your homework). These are bills that impact society as a whole and not just one isolated issue in one state or city. Hillary hasn't been able to match that sort of push and grind to be effective on that level. I personally, came from a mother that was into local politics and was a GREAT leader! I think women can do a great job leading even if it was the U.S. President.

Looking at the hype Hillary puts behind small achievements and all of the immoral things she is willing to do to get to the presidency, what sort of message is she bringing with her to support the view of women? This is how you "sleaze" your way into being respected? NOT! Fighting an honest, loyal, moral fight is the way to win! AS a woman, she should not be willing to compromise those values; even if the men ARE being jerks! Again, I watched my mother take a road where she went against a few men and they were NOT easy on her but do you think she compromised any moral or good she was? Nope! Because she knew that if she did, not only would it make HER look bad but it would bring question to the things she stood for and how sincere was she.. She never faltered. If Hillary kept away the tears and fight THE good fight, I think she would have more people in her corner than she do now. I WAS a huge Clinton supporter until I saw her start coming apart, losing control, and the bad ads started rolling. Then I knew she fell to the level of mud slinging politics! When she seems to be continually focused on slandering Obama makes her position look petty; as though she's got personal issues with a fellow candidate. That makes her look partial or like a bigot. These are NOT things to be proud of. She is demeaning the integrity of women in politics; not making it better! I give Obama one bit of credit; he is handling his loses with diplomacy! He congratulates Hillary. She should stop using these demeaning tactics against Obama to get ahead because it DOES make her look as though she has a color issue or wrong agenda.

I am not aware of any white woman being lynched because she was a woman. I am not aware of any provisions for women only water fountains, or women only public transportation, etc. I agree that sexist is deplorable and that women continue to suffer in this society. It is, however, a question of degree. I think slavery kind of trumps getting paid less on the horrible scale.

I'd like to begin by stating Eleanor probably completed this article amidst an argument with herself. That argument clearly a heated internal fist versus fist debacle about the lack of journalistic integrity she should have shown or the lack thereof she feels was appropriate when writing this article. One thing that can be said it was probably deeper than that of any politically charged set or rants from Hillary or Barack. At least both those candidates understand that their cause is definative. Eleanor you should have come across as neutral. Plain and simple. Instead you allowed the reader, by the title of this piece, to engage in something not worth giving a ring to. If this article were posted on the Obama website it still would be questioned by those who concededly agree with the notion that presidential politics is a two way street. That being said Obama has layed his arguments and used them for a cause. As did Hillary. Now we need to know if there is one candidate over the other that has deliberately given us a series of controlled lies. I think we can say they all have. That leaves us with the one who can tell the better truth.

  • Posted By: rayc20 @ 01/20/2008 1:02:06 AM

With all do respect ,Eleanor the author and Obama supporter, needent speak one-sided unless this was an article posted on the Obama website. Truly there are different sides to each story. Hillary supporter or Obama supporter alike. To benefit from writing an article based solely on personal feelings should be stated as such. It seems cotrived that this article actually steered towards the direction of Obama rather than the direction that gave us a fork in the road. That fork allowing us to choose a direction based on a double-sided argument feasted on each candidates techniques. Congratulations on amending the art of articles. Now I wish you luck in proving the public's desire to believe you. So far the latest voting contests show they do not.

Clearly the writer of this article is in favor of Obama.Obama who has been playin the race card the whole race while getting a free pass from the MEDIA including this writer who have put the use of race on everyone but Obama who is the first one to use it left and right. The 80% vote based on color for Obama is a telling sign of how color makes a difference to some voters, which is wrong but the MEDIA wil not even mention that is wrong unless it happens in favor of Hillary and not in favor of Obama. Bill even though i don't like him is right in his assesment of the double standard people played in favor of Obama in the PRESS and it needs to stop!!!!!!!!!!! GWHITT - by the way at first i thought Obama seemed to be a good man but i guess you clearly don't care about all the rhetoric Obama has brought up attacking anyone and everyone accusing Hillary and others of racism to get your vote as clealy as this young lady lost yours,Obama has done the same by lying and attacking others by playin a race game just to get votes.Personally i'd be insulted that he is doing something so wrong to bring out a biased vote for his campaign and also ashamed that alot of my fellow Democrats fall for it.Obama split the white vote in most areas but him getting 80% of the black votes shows you how much his attacks are working, because like you i would hope the people aren't voting based on color,,you tell me what the statistics are pointing out?Thos are quite glaring stats i must tell you.

    • Posted By: ColonelMichael @ 01/20/2008 12:13:43 AM

Interesting points, however, I don't remember ever hearing Obama discuss race in ANY of his appearances -- though I could be wrong. So it may be that you're misspeaking to say that he is playing the race card unless YOU have heard him consistently do so. Also, who is the media that they would tell someone the basis for forming their decision on whom to vote is WRONG? Doesn't that sound a little ludicrious to you? Your opinion (as is your vote) is yours and yours alone. I can attempt to EDUCATE you if you seem to be making a choice out of something that I would consider ignorance, but even then that's MY opinion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the REASON for which you make your decision on whom to vote -- I have to respect that because that's your right. I think the same would be required of you. Again, these "attacks" you claim Obama is working must be very clandestine, but they're sure getting a rise out of YOU!

Nothing or nobody can ever unite the Democrats. That is the way it has been for all of their History and this disunity is what makes them a great party and has brought such benefit to this nation. In the words of Will Rogers "I belong to no organized political party. I am a Democrat." or as the old joke goes "if two Democrats are in a room and they find they agree on something, then one will demand that the other change his mind." Disagreement is the stength of the party and the louder and more strident it is the more the nation is benefitted. When only one viewpoint is allowed as with the Republicans, then we have no opportunity to find the best solution and the path that will be most advantageous to our nation. If you look at the current set of empty suited Neanderthals parading across the Republican stage and arguing about who can drop the most bombs or cut the most taxes you realize how little they have to offer the nation and the world. The Democrats on the other hand fight about everything from war to education to medical policy to jaywalking and each candidate is allowed to give his or her viewpoint an airing so we know in our minds which is best for us. If I were a Republican I would neither know or care which one was the nominee as they are all the same. As a Democrat I have the luxury of choosing Hillary as my candidate, but would be comfortable with Obama or Edwards and probably the others. I am grateful to the Democratic Party for giving me that choice and for making different views available in aiding me to make it. Who care who wins the Republican Party nomination; McCain, Romney, Paul, Huckabee etc; no choice. Except maybe for Paul but he's living in the 19th Century when the country had onlt 20 milllion inhabitants and wants to take us back there. That makes him an option as aginst all the others who are living in this century.

    Go Hillary!

If Hillary Clinton is qualified to be President my virtue of her "experience" as wife of Bill Clinton, then if she is nominated, I suggest she give serious consideration to naming Monica Lewinsky as her Vice President choice. Clearly the oratory skill Ms Lewinsky developed under Bill Clinton would be a great asset to Mrs. Clinton's own "experience".

Do not go very far to see the depth of Obama -- a man claiming Regan changing the trajectory. What a croc? The " trickle down" theory , that was once denounced by his own VP, Bush; the man's policy led to wider gap of income between the rich and the poor; left more people on welfar roll and without medical benifits. Fox news is no worse than these curve balls. Besides, people can think for themselve even when they write big blogs blo

NO BARACK OBAMA PLEASE!!!!. Senator Clinton if she wants the presidency should have it, and she should have as her vice president, whom she wants. Obama does not have a track record, and change -- any change -- isn't substantial enough a reason to be in this race. Mitt Romney is likely going to be on the republican ticket and he can point to a record of making change -- as head of Baine, the Olympics, the Governor of Massachusetts. The only person with substance -- though she's imperfect -- is Senator Hillary Clinton. Sorry media. When the Republicans question her experience, Americans will remember that Clinton Democrats kept things pretty smooth in the 1990s, and this is NOT GOING BACK TO THE 1990S, media, it is having smart people who care about government, running it, not Republicans who want to dismantle government and operate it from ideology.

Obama shows a whole lot of charisma and have a lot of communication skill like that of regan to draw quick attention with catch phrases. But, Where is the beef? What specifically different and changes he is preaching for/ If th national election is about communication, then he wins hands down. If it is about bringing in meaningful change, I am afraid he is well short of ammo.

    Barack Obama's Plan on Education

    Early Childhood Education
Zero to Five Plan: Obama's comprehensive "Zero to Five" plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. Unlike other early childhood education plans, Obama's plan places key emphasis at early care and education for infants, which is essential for children to be ready to enter kindergarten. Obama will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state "zero to five" efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school.
Expand Early Head Start and Head Start: Obama will quadruple Early Head Start, increase Head Start funding and improve quality for both.
Affordable, High-Quality Child Care: Obama will also provide affordable and high-quality child care to ease the burden on working families.
    K-12
Reform No Child Left Behind: Obama will reform NCLB, which starts by funding the law. Obama believes teachers should not be forced to spend the academic year preparing students to fill in bubbles on standardized tests. He will improve the assessments used to track student progress to measure readiness for college and the workplace and improve student learning in a timely, individualized manner. Obama will also improve NCLB's accountability system so that we are supporting schools that need improvement, rather than punishing them.
Make Math and Science Education a National Priority: Obama will recruit math and science degree graduates to the teaching profession and will support efforts to help these teachers learn from professionals in the field. He will also work to ensure that all children have access to a strong science curriculum at all grade levels.
Address the Dropout Crisis: Obama will address the dropout crisis by passing his legislation to provide funding to school districts to invest in intervention strategies in middle school strategies such as personal academic plans, teaching teams, parent involvement, mentoring, intensive reading and math instruction, and extended learning time.
Expand High-Quality Afterschool Opportunities: Obama will double funding for the main federal support for afterschool programs, the 21st Century Learning Centers program, to serve one million more children.
Expand Summer Learning Opportunities: Obama's "STEP UP" plan addresses the achievement gap by supporting summer learning opportunities for disadvantaged children through partnerships between local schools and community organizations.
Support College Outreach Programs: Obama supports outreach programs like GEAR UP, TRIO and Upward Bound to encourage more young people from low-income families to consider and prepare for college.
Support English Language Learners: Obama supports transitional bilingual education and will help Limited English Proficient students get ahead by holding schools accountable for making sure these students complete school.

oh please. the press' coverage of hilary is so biased. why is obama free to make cheap attacks on hilary without controversy, dare i say with the press on side, while any criticisms of obama is greeted as negative attacks? let's get this right, it was obama that admitted to his drug taking days - so is nobody ever allow to mention that as a character flaw? please get real! as if the republicans won't be hammering this home come the election!

listen to the entire fairytale comment from bill clinton, it was NOT about obama's candidacy, it was about his iraq stance. the public can see through the press' overwhelming bias, just like they can see that obama has nothing to offer beyond a few great soundbites for a lazy press corp.

we don't need another lazy president who leaves it to others while he's asleep at the wheel!

    go hilary!!!
