There needs to be a global anti-spam task force made up of "good" hackers who overload the phishing sites and spam servers with noise and viruses of their own. Fire with fire. It's a war and "we the people" are getting creamed.

Has anyone ever tried to figure out if the spammers send out these messages just to irritate the general population or if they have a higher purpose (stealing money from the uninformed)?
