Bill Clinton???s conduct in this race is disgraceful. He shows no grace, no long term view, and no sense of balance. This is not the role of a former President. If his wife cannot win with his biased but balance and respectful, ???none attack dog role???, then she does not deserve to win. If she has the most experience, the best judgment, able to run things on day one, then why does she require her husband to win by playing such a role?
This is exactly why we must not give Bill Clinton a third term. They cannot even unite the Democratic Party even with a president like George Bush, how on earth will they be able to unite this country. The kinds of problems that we are confronted with cannot be resolved with a country so deeply divided. What was the positive thing about Reagan, whether you like his policies or not, and I mostly did not, he was able to build a governing majority. The Clintons will not be able to do this.
The harm that George Bush has left this country in requires a true leader. One who has a clear and compelling vision for the country? One who can call people to greatness, not facilitate pettiness. One who can inspire people to reach for distances, George Bush has frighten them in to believing cannot be achieve. One who lifts up America and is so doing, provide the clear pathway to lift up a world. Criticize Obama for seeing that trait in Reagan if you will, but the truth is, that in many ways, Reagan did that. He believed that our cause was better than the Soviet Union, not because he thought we were smarter, favored by God, or even deserving, but because we pursued a more compelling vision than that of the Soviets???life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness???all people are created equal???this equality was given to them not by man but by God. Because Reagan had a more compelling vision, he inspired a nation to do things that we were reluctant to do in the face of the cold war, but in so doing he help free a nation and a world from the icy grips of the cold war. Give people hope, help them to believe in themselves, and they will find the answer they need to reach those distances set before them. That is what Obama promises in every aspect of his candicy. His narrative is about what the American People can do, not about what he can do. The Clintons, do not get this, the only narrative they understand is fighting, winning by any means necessary, governing from triangulation and fear. Do we really want 8 more years of this insanity???can this nation survive 8 more years of it?
