my sentiments exactly. Having now divided Democrats along race and gender to win the nomination, Bill and Hillary are now driving the party train to another crash in November. Hillary will have to pit her 35-year (spousal) experience against McCain's 25-year stint in Congress - in a battle of the old-timers in US politics. They are now openly alienating Blacks by pitting them againt the Latinos in the West (if in doubt please, follow Bill's campaign stump speeches in Nevada) and women against men.

Sure, the gambit will win Hillary the nomination - but come crashing against the Republican machine. - even folks in Afghanistan know that a Clinton running for President is a gift for the Republican machine. Democrats are again on the cusp of snatching Presidential defeat from the jaws of victory - because the Clintons, like the Bushes, will do anything necessary to satiate their entitlement to taking turns in ruling this country.

Where are the "party elders"? Whos is willing to stand up and stop this? Feingold should speak up, Kennedy, even Carter, and especially Gore - the Clintons are obvioulsy willing to go for the "scorched earth" campaign, leaving many deep wounds in their wake that are more than "ruffled feathers" we just have to "get over" (see the clinton campaign statements in the wake of the NH attacks on Obama's choice record. They are very telling!)

Bill is a disgrace... AS a lifelong dem., I NEVER thought I'd find myself in the position where I would actually sit out an election - and an important one - if HRC is the dem candidate. Hope the party elders take note: if they let this POWER-HUNGRY couple slash around and do anything for a win, the party will suffer in november. I started out neutral on HRC; after the past 7 years, anything could only be much better. the worry is that she's "fatal" (McCaskill for the down-ticket, and this will weaken the dems in congress. the only party HRC unites is the GOP, and they will be "fired up and ready to go", Given the definite ceiling in the dem party, her very limited appeal to independents and virtual NO crossover from the GOP, she might lose this, esp. to McCain. Alternatively, even if she were to eke out a 50.01% win, and with a wek congress, the country, and the party!! will be more divided then ever. We do deserve better! But all this chenged the last few weeks: from trying to stop students from voting in Iowa, to the suit in Nevada, the false flyers on O's choice record (look what they are willing to do to win - the rift in the pro-choice movement is deep. Emily's list is being used as an arm of the campaign instead of saving it's resources for races where the opponent actually disagrees with their agenda!!!).. Bill's pathetic flayling, and the vicious use of surrogates and robocalls is appalling. I really will never, ever do anything to help this power-hungry gang back in the WH - have we forgotten the % of time and resources we spent of parsing "is", defining sex, Lincoln bedroom and desk stories, travelgate, PERJURY, disbarment, Fostergate, pardons, Whitewater... And these are just the first ones coming to mind. Where are the "party elders" where is Gore, where is Dean, where is Feingold, where is Mitchell, whereis Kennedy? Who is willing to stand up to these two, and point out PUBLICLY what they are doing to the party called the "democratic" party?! Rove smiles.....

All these women claim Bill Clinton raped and sexually assaulted them and Bill paid at least one nearly a million dollars to go away. Meanwhile Old Bill is getting a 19 year old intern to suck his dick. Nice guy Bill. Typical libturd.

Bill Clinton screwed the American people when he chose womanizing over his leadership role. Hillary has been complicate in that along with every other sleazy move , Whitewater etc...,he's made. I don't want THEM running my country. They are both arrogant jerks who have an undeserved sense of entitlement. As an Independent woman there is no way I will vote for the Dynamic Duo...I'll go Republican, something I have never done.

A voter in Nevada was quoted as saying that Obama needed to step back and gain more experience like Hillary had. The only experience Hillary has is that of cover up and sweeping things under the rug. what has she really done politically?

As I see it, the level of discussion between Hillary and Obama went south during the third debate when both Obama and Edwards began attacking Hillary personally. Up until then the debates were kept to a discussion of the issues. I don't blame her (or Bill) for saying "If this is the way you want to play, then get ready for what is coming." Obama has no right to claim he has kept the discussion on issues only.

What I see happening if the Clinton's win (And it is the Clintons... a dual presidency) is it will polarize the rights and the near-rights to vote Republican, not FOR the right's candidate, but against HRC. I myself, an independent pushed to the left by Bush and Co, disparately want to vote Democrat, but I get a queasy feeling at keeping the bush/clinton 20 year roll going,

It becomes more and more obvous, it is Bill Clinton that is running for President and Hillary the Vice President. Hmmm. What happens if he has another heart attack? Omigod!

Bill Clinton is "OVERSHADOWING" his wife. This was displayed when he attempted to defend Sen. Clinton comments about former President LBJ, on Black radio. I felt the anger from him, across the airways, and as a Black voter, the vibe I received from former President Clinton, was "I stood by you N....., and now you're turning your backs on us.....so what if Barack Obama is Black? ???You owe me???. For us, kill your dreams. Who is running for President, Bill or Hillary? Hillary has to show America that she could fight her own battles, and defend her position. If she does not show the world that she could keep her husband mouth shut, it is going to ultimately hurt her bid for the Presidency. Former President Bill Clinton is angry because he realizes that Barack Obama will beat Hillary, when those two square off. When you are fearful, you attack what poise a threat. Former President Clinton is angry and thinking out loud, ???I will be daman if I let a Black Man beat Hillary! We are superior to the Black race..Barack Obama (A Black Man) cannot lead me. No way in Hell. This is the vibe I am getting from the Clinton Campaign. It hurts that he thinks African-Americans cannot lead effectively, it hurts because if Hillary Campaign Manager decides to run for President against her one day, they will crucify her, it hurts because they just simply say, African-Americans are not worthy of such a high office. That is why African-Americans need Barack Obama to stop the hurt. We get it from both ends; Republicans and Democrats with a Superiority attitude.

Bill is a disgrace and how will Hillary ever "control" him. He's as bad as the Bush Team in his dirty tricks

What's amazing about so many of the pro-Clinton posters is how your partisan hackery is completely indifferent to the truth. Try saying what you actually think for a change. Most people call that "being honest." Clinton crushing people in purple states? WTF? 1. Actually visit a 'purple state'. 2. Stop the pot. Or at least take a hint from the Partisan in Chief and don't inhale. 3. Quit making a pact with the devil to win elections. 4. Call mother. --- A to do list.

Actually, I live in a red state (although TX will be blue within a couple of decades) but I have read polls on pollsterdotcm and mydd and Hillary does beat the GOP in purple Ohio. I am not concerned about Bush apologists like McCain or Romney in 2008.

I'll admit she has a prayer....right now with no noise from the "vast right wing conspiracy." To have a chance we'll need every single swing county in Ohio to go our way. Here's the problem: once it's clear she's the nominee the right wing machine will get in gear and pull out the 18 anti-Clinton playbooks it's been writing and re-writing since 1991. They'll spend every day till November doing to Hillary what she did to Barack. The Clintons will triangulate and keep shifting to the right. We'll hear her bragging about being tough on security, and how she was willing to make the tough choices when it came to Iraq and Iran. And we Democrats will ask ourselves why we have a candidate that cedes the entire field in political debate rather than changing the game. But deep down too many Democrats are afraid of Republicans, afraid to be different from Republicans, because deep down we don't believe that we're better than Republicans. Because deep down we don't believe anything anymore. It's enough to make anyone with a little courage of their own convictions puke.

Oh yes, this is a great stand by a female American leader! She lets her husband do the dirty work because he is much more popular than she is, and is essentially riding HIS coattails in these primaries. And before that, she pulled the political equivalent of the stereotypical girl crying her way out of a speeding ticket when Obama was leading going into New Hampshire. How weird, I would think that the feminists would disapprove of the "damsel in distress" getting bailed out by the husband who flaunted affairs while in the white house. So yes, fight on Bill! And Hillary, let your husband win this campaign for you because you are too weak to do it on your own. Pathetic.

Hillary and Obama are not the same on the war votes, that's just Hillary's talking point. They are the same on the funding votes, no one is going to play chicken with Bush over the troops lives. They are very different in other votes. She's been comfortable with using the military since the White House where she the administration used her to give Bill some backbone. Hillary voted for Iraq and Iran. There have been times that she's beat the war drums harder than Bush. She voted against tying the Iraqi funds to governmental progress, which passed the Senate by 80-14, and the House, to be vetoed by Bush. I've read in comments that she has talked about using nuclear weapons.

Maybe we were watching different debates, they sounded like they had the exact same position to me in the Nevada debate.

and by the way, no one cares what the unprofessional, lying, dishonest media thinks. Americans will turn against the biased media and side with the Clintons as usual, the haters always go overboard and it comes through on TV, the media is so obvious. They pretend to be neutral while spinning against Clinton... Russert actually looked unhinged tonight.

I don't think Obama would take a VP spot. He has to pass good legislation, not live in someone's shadows.

  • Posted By: jovie131 @ 01/20/2008 12:36:15 AM

Kennedy is not intimadated by Clinton machine. His friend Leahy probably thought about this and that is why he endorsed Sen. Obama recently. If Clinton ignores him and keeps doing what he is doing I think there will be no choice but to offer Obama the vp spot. I think that is what is happening now.

  • Posted By: jovie131 @ 01/20/2008 12:32:50 AM

Kennedy, lie him or ot, has always been a civil riht guru. As was his brothers. He has spent enough time in Senate to not worry about retaliation. I think his friend Leah felt the same way when he endorsed Obama a couple days ago.
