The Clintons will do anything, say anything, promise anything to seize the nomination for Hillary...even if that means the destruction of the Democratic party. They are an arrogant power-hungry team whose campaign is flush with special interest and PAC money. Bill and Hillary see Barack Obama as a threat to their dominance and eventual control of the party. They are the ultimate defenders of the staus quo...who use their slash and burn style of politics to obscure the facts about their own records. Voters need to realize that with Hillary...you also get the philandering serial cheating ex-president. A lot has happened since the good old 1990s...9/11, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Katrina...just to name a few. We have to look forward and not backwards. Did Bill take his eye off Bin Laden cause he was too busy watching Monica? How dangerous would a co-presidency be? A Hillary nomination will unite the Republican party and drive independents to the GOP. Can Democrats afford to wait another 4 or 8 years to retake the White House? The Clintons do not own the Democratic party...nor should they. Senator Obama remains the only hope for true change! The Clinton attack machine has torn apart his personal life and record in a desperate attempt to discredit him. In doing so, they have demeaned themselves and the process.

As I said on other occasion, Obama IS NOT ready to be our president, He has to wait at least ten years to get one third or experience that Ms. Clinton has.

On the other hand, during the Clinton administration the economy of our Country WAS THE BEST that we had for the past decades. Tell me now! We have the worst economy just because all the expenses created by the war.

Ojo! For the Republicans, is favorable for Obama to win.
FACE IT! At the end the Republicans will wipe off Obama, and we will be deeper on the economy.

Alter usually writes better than this. All anonymous quotes (due to the "sensitive nature"?) or quoting a "senior Obama advisor" is weak journalism. This is rumor-mongering. Also, the bit about the Charlie Rose show has been rebutted. Clinton was out of time and Charile said so when he tried to stop the interview. It had nothing to do with Bill's comments and noone collaborates any Clinton aides trying to stop the interview for any other reason. Finally, how are Kennedy and Emanuel considered "neutral" when they intercede on Obama's behalf - assuming this fiction were true? Whose water is Alter carrying anyway? Obama's?

Party leaders should intervene to protect the party, not Mr. Obama. The scorched-earth campaign of the Clintons, who are willing to exploit any possible divide, will turn off to many independents as well as democrats; leave it up to the Dems. to blow it again in November,,, The personal and false attacks go way beyond "politics as ususal" (by any one's standard, except Clintons, Rove and Atwater), and they show exactly what this country is sick of/about, and why we need to move on - Anyone But Clinton!

Obama, as well as the rest of the country, needs to quit treating Bill Clinton as an ethical gentleman. A gentleman of his or any other age, while holding the office of arguably the most powerful person in the world, would not take advantage of a girl shortly out of her teenage years for his sexual pleasures; nor would a gentleman in that highest of political offices, continually commit perjury when being questioned about the matter. Chelsea Clinton is about the age of Bill's victim. I can't help but wonder about his reaction if some man took advantage of her the way Bill did Monica.

Further, Obama needs to quit treating Hillary as a lady. She is a woman running for office, but she is definitly not a lady. She continues to extol her "experience", without defining that experience, in part, as having been an attorney involved in the Whitewater scandal of the 1990's, along with the problems concerning missing or incorrect legal billings from her office. Her "experience" in dealing with foreign affairs was hand-carrying messages from Bill to leaders of foreign nations, perhaps with the intent of keeping her away from the oval office.

As one news commentator observed, if Hillary's years in the White House qualify her for office, then some of the kitchen staff of the White House are far more qualified, based upon their tenure there.

This is the third time Bill has campaigned for president. Enough already.

Anyone who thinks this is anything other than Bill's attempt at a third term is just kidding themselves. It's so funny that the same Democrats who think Bush has dictatorial leanings see nothing sinister about the former prez playing the role of vice prez for his wife (i.e. the hatchet man). It's an attempt to circumvent term limits plain and simple.

OK. WHO is running for President? Bill or Hillary? Is anyone else confused or down-right irritated by his blatent run for a 3rd term in the White House? By the way, I think law prohibits 3rd terms for a reason. Does anyone really think Hillary will be other than an 'acting' President? There is NO way she can stand up to him in any facet of life!

In 2008, it is rather luck of the draw for the other candidates in deciding to enter the 2008 election race knowing that Hillary (with Bill by her side) would be the force to overcome.

It's not at all clear that former President Clinton should be expected to pipe down. Even though it isn't his race, he surely has as much opportunity to offer support that other spouses are offering. If that happens to be more effective, it may be the nature of the beast rather than unfair advantage.

After all, in 1992, Hillary had her say, but may not have been as effective then as he is now.

Comparing apples to oranges doesn't make much sense, and trying to turn an apple into an orange is folly.

Since the apple was fully obvious from the beginning, every candidate faces the same problem, Republican or Democrat. The apple is there whether people like it or not. Hasn't spouse acceptance always been a part of choosing a President?

Bill and Hill have the experience of being the most powerful figures on earth. Just like the Lord of Ring depicts once people have tasted that kind of power, they are hooked, they will do anything to grab that power again. That's exactly the reason, for the sake of our democracy, we should not allow the same group of people in power for too long. Absolute power corrupts people and make people become arrogant. In this country, there are enough talented leaders, we should give others the chance instead of the old name called Clinton.

Why stop now? A Bush or Clinton has been in the White House since 1980. With Jeb and the daughters lined up for dibs, why not just declare this country a du-archy and let those families swap control every eight years? I know, I know: people have television to watch, SUVs to drive, and weight to gain... Why else would the masses allow themselves to be buried in shite and only complain about the smell?

    could not agree more.

  • Posted By: karaswart @ 01/23/2008 7:12:52 AM

I can't believe that you guys voted out Al Gore because Bill got a blow job or too. Talk about mistaken priorities..War is fine; blow jobs aren't!!!

Bill+Hillary --- we are sick of political dynasty with G.W.Bush and G.H.W.Bush already.

I was big supporter for Bill for all these years. What you are doing for your wife is completely disgusting. You are alienating many Obama supporters and the Af4rican Americans. For sure, I for one, a lifelong devoted Democrat, will not vote for Hillary if she reprents my party in the general election -- because of your way, negative and divisive politics even within my own party -- not to mention what kind of campaign you and your wife will run against the republican nominee, which is already sickening me -- I will never vote for you/your wife. You and your wife should retire and fade into history. You are damaging America more than you think.

Ditto!!! Me too. Dynastic politics are not healthy for a democracy.

  • Posted By: yh132 @ 01/23/2008 1:32:18 AM

I am a lifelong loyal Democrat, but I am an Obama supporter and am disgusted with the way the Clintons are lashing out at him. Keep it up, Bill, and I am voting for McCain in the fall if Obama is not on the ticket.

Bill and Hillary might be winning the campaign games, but they are damaging our democracy by continuing the engage in the shenanigans used by Bush and his minions. Boldfaced lying has replaced tactical barbs. Will they "Swift Boat" Obama? You betcha! She'll win the nomination and lose the election. You are such suckers!

  • Posted By: lovejusticepeace @ 01/22/2008 10:50:35 PM

    Bills got the skill.
    Hill up Hillary still.
    Hilary at Capitol Hill !

  • Posted By: morales620 @ 01/22/2008 9:35:47 PM

Gasbesmall the republican party has no chance in winning this election. The American people have open their eyes to see that republicans only care about making the rich man richer, attempting to take civil liberties, and scarying us into submission. That is why democratics took the house in 2006. Obama or Hillary will crush any republican candidate and bring the party together.

  • Posted By: Temesgen19 @ 01/22/2008 8:03:36 PM

The Clintons seem to be determined to restore their dynasty. They will do anything they can to stop Obama, the only real threat to their resurrecting dynasty. This is not good for our democracy.

  • Posted By: gabesmall @ 01/22/2008 7:05:04 PM

Hillary Clinton is our best chance to unite and rally the Party!... The REPUBLICAN Party, that is... VOTE OBAMA!

  • Posted By: bluestate1 @ 01/22/2008 6:59:23 PM

If the press had been fair early on and had scoured Obama to the degree they scoured the other candidates on policy issues, having a strong spokesman doing the media's job of finding facts about Obama would not be role Bill Clinton would need to do. Bill Clinton is just trying to even the playing field. I would think Obama would welcome the chance to set us all straight about his accomplishments. Apparently not.

  • Posted By: public4 @ 01/20/2008 11:59:58 PM

Bill is angry because the press is giving Obama a free pass. No one can criticize Obama because he's black? Tell that to Putin, China and the European Union who would eat Obama alive. I'm sorry, I believe in affirmative action in jobs, but we can't have an affirmative action President. Let Obama fight like a man or drop out of the race.

    • Posted By: katbunny @ 01/21/2008 11:38:00 AM

      ...... Bull! Hillary needs to stop hiding behind her husband! This is a race between Hillary and Obama;
      not Bill and Obama.

      • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 6:27:30 PM

Agreed - if Hillary cannot stand on her own feet, she has no place in this race!
