Bill+Hillary --- we are sick of political dynasty with G.W.Bush and G.H.W.Bush already.

I was big supporter for Bill for all these years. What you are doing for your wife is completely disgusting. You are alienating many Obama supporters and the Af4rican Americans. For sure, I for one, a lifelong devoted Democrat, will not vote for Hillary if she reprents my party in the general election -- because of your way, negative and divisive politics even within my own party -- not to mention what kind of campaign you and your wife will run against the republican nominee, which is already sickening me -- I will never vote for you/your wife. You and your wife should retire and fade into history. You are damaging America more than you think.

I am dissappointed that prominent democrats like Kennedy, Carter have kept quiet while the clintons are basically destroying the democratic party in their greed for office. It may behoove them to remember that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who stay neutral and keep silent while evil rages

My feelings exactly! Can't they read the writings on the wall that every day the Clintons keep up this scorched-earth campaign, there are more life-long dems who pledge NEVER to vote for a Clinton again, plus the independents will flock to McCain. They can do the math! To exploid any division and to do and say anything is damaging to the party! Where are they? Gore, Dean, any elected official, even the one that endorsed HRC, should come out PUBLICLY; Bill thinks it's working and will continue. So endorse Obama and make this power-hungry couple stop destroying the party. Rove smiles......

      • Posted By: gabesmall @ 01/22/2008 12:57:08 PM

The Rovians have been licking their chops for a Billary nomination long before Obama entered the national scene. I wouldn't be surprised if they are lending Billary a hand in defeating Obama. If they can help edge out Obama, they get to run against a Clinton campaign representing a slashed and burned, demoralized party. It'll be a cake walk. BILLARY CAN'T BEAT THE GOP! VOTE OBAMA!

It is disheartening, as a lifelong democrat, to contemplate the possibility of not being able to support the party's nominee. As a professional middle-aged woman, I have been disappointed in the policies of the previous Clinton administrations and in some of the personal choices which Ms. Clinton made. I believe that her "experience" consists of making politically expedient choices and that she, fundamentally, acts in her own self interest. I do not buy the crying, the indignation, or any of the "emotions" that either the former president or his wife demonstrate. It's show biz for them at this point. For me, it's about having a president I can trust to put the country first. I know Hillary's not that person. I think Obama is. I think McCain is. So, if Hillary is the nominee, I'll be voting for a Republican in the General for the first time in my voting life. But I'll be doing what I think is right.

    • Posted By: aprilmoon @ 01/22/2008 11:52:17 AM

agreed 100%, ctdem! I'm a life-long female democrat who's considering changing to independent because of the Clintons (and I mean life-long--my parents went to JFK's inauguration and my father shook hands, spoke with him). IF (please note the big "if") Hillary had divorced Bill, it would be a different story for me. She didn't, says tons about her. Obama, Edwards, even other dems are better suited for Pres.

    • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 12:27:49 AM

Well put - I agree, and I do morn the Supreme Court. One more nominee like the last few ones, and it will be like in the old soviet Union, where the outcome is really known the day a case is filed. HRC on the ticket will unite the GOP in droves, and will be fatal for any dem on the ticket (see statement of Sen,. mcCaskiill). A weaker house and senate will not be able to get anything done, but the GOP will be "Fired up and ready to go" - that's what "ready to lead on day one" brings... What about day 2, week 5, year 2, et cetc... And we think the country is divided now............................

I'm getting frustrated with both Obama and Clinton's campaigns... and I wish they would stop calling me on my cell phone, or I will vote for McCain!
Stop fighting and start talking issuse and solutions! Stop Arguing!
I'm hoping for a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket. At this point I'm not caring which way is which... but keep this up and I'll switch to McCain! I like McCain anyway, he's done extremely well... when he wasn't influenced by the Bush Administration...

  • Posted By: paulte @ 01/22/2008 10:47:08 AM

But where would Hillary be without Bill? If she hadn't been First Lady, would she have been able to get elected to the Senate? I think that he is an integral part of her campaign and he will be an integral part of her administration if (God forbid!) she gets elected to the Presidency!

  • Posted By: greboo46 @ 01/22/2008 4:14:44 AM

Maybe Bill could cool it a bit. HOWEVER, He is going to set the record straight when Obama and or Edwards attacks Hillary. And he should. And when Obama lies about his record. Look this is Politics. So Obama did start the attacks now he is being piled on. Now he knows what it feels like. Dish it out, and now you must take. Welcome to the world of Pol. Obama this is the world you wanted. greg

What planet were you on the last few weeks? The Clintons would drag Mother Theresa down if they thought she was standing in the way of their power grab. Speaking of the "record" - can anyone in Hillaryland explain why she voted for a WAR, "with conviction" but without reading the 94-page classified national Intelligence Estimate (knowing no staffer had clearance to do so!) Experience? Judgment?? Where is the press, pointing out that this is the kind of "leadership" we might get (Oh, we have that already today...) And let's not forget, "Bill was against the war from the beginning, too"... Too bad for all these speeches that have been recorded where even Slick Willy cannot parse his own words any further.

    • Posted By: chatmant @ 01/22/2008 6:52:46 AM

I'm starting to think someone should just make the ads. There's no reasoning with foaming at the mouth and indifference to facts.

One thing that, as layman, we can all agree that during the Bill Clinton years there was economic prosperity. Perhaps not for everyone, but still he did leave a surplus. However, two years into his presidency the republicans took control of congress. Why that happen still remains a mystery to me and it defys logic. Nevertheless, we had a Republican Controlled Congress and only recently was it wrestled away from them. As a country, we suffered endless attacks from the republicans on the Clintons and bore the expense of costly investigations and, frankly as a nation, became more divided.

Now I have nothing personal against Mrs. Clinton she is a very intelligent individual and I think that she can do a far more effective job in congress than in the White House. Unfortunately, she does bring some "baggage" with her that I believe that we as a nation should not be subjected to again. We should not be investing in "dynasties". It is time for change and exchanging Bill's pants for Hillary's skirt is NOT change. I frankly am not interested in seeing a repeat of history. If you want to see the Republicans resume control of Congress in 2010 and watch as they reengage in frivolous banter, while giving the Multinational Corporations more power, then by all means vote for her. But also remember you are NOT just getting her you are also getting him and I'm sure that their are numerous republicans that have still not finished with him.

    • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 9:36:15 AM

Why the Congress veered right under Clinton is no mystery!!! The ideas, those years (not the right ones, but the "narrative" was all the way in the GOP camp, because BILL LET IT THERE, with all his triangulation, and alienation of a large part of the dem. base. remember the "contract with America" days...? That's when the dialogue really had shifted away from a dem. agenda, under Bill's watch...

I have been a Bill Clinton supporter since 1992. But he's totally off doing what he's doing. No way should he be attacking a black man running for president. It's totally against everything he stood for when he was in the White House. Fairly criticizing Obama's record is the way to do this - not personal attacks. Bill's personal attack has definitely driven me to Obama.

    • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/21/2008 4:44:11 PM

I honestly believe Bill would attack Mother Theresa if he felt she stood in his way to another change at power! They will stop at nothing - power over all! Bill does not care about damaging the party; it is all about them, always has, and they show their cards. Why does the electorate let them????

      • Posted By: chatmant @ 01/22/2008 3:13:20 AM

(Cue sinister music.) Mother Theresa incited class warfare by always appearing with the poor. Mother Theresa did not support American military intervention in third world countries. And Mother Theresa failed to advocate strengthening American companies. Mother Theresa: wrong for society, wrong on defense, and wrong on job creation. Bill, er...Hillary Clinton for president.

  • Posted By: chatmant @ 01/22/2008 3:06:03 AM

Oh, yeah, that whole Willy Horton bit is true. They would blame you for that if they had to and could. Sometimes the truth hurts. But, Obama, you're in the public eye, and you have to say it. Your 'gloves off' makes it look like you don't want to call a spade a spade. I seem to remember King criticizing those who wouldn't oppose Vietnam because they wanted to "go along with the Administration." He laid it out there. Did some friends and allies feel good, no. Did it need to be said? Yes.

  • Posted By: chatmant @ 01/22/2008 3:01:17 AM

I'm still waiting for someone to use King's speeches, take the Clintons' words and make some very good anti-King spoof television ads. That'll take some former Nixon and Goldwater supporter down a few notches.

  • Posted By: c-muoneke @ 01/22/2008 2:52:06 AM

Obama, please don't let HILL-BILL "swift boat" you. You better keep those gloves off Bro, or next they'll be blaming you for Willy Horton.

  • Posted By: starving actor @ 01/22/2008 12:41:38 AM

No democrat should be elected- black, white, brown, yellow, because democrats are stupid marxist morons who really hate the freedom we have, and want to take over our lives and dictate to us- after trying to erase our ability to defend ourselves of course. If Condi would run, she is a woman, and a black, who I could vote for, because she is an American, not a democrat.

Peggy Noonan just said on Meet The Press "Who's Campaign Is It anyway?"... I totally agree and I am very glad she put that statement out there... This is getting a bit silly folks.. If Hillary can't stand on her own in these debates, why in the hell are we even considering her for the office of President of these great United States. Bill needs to go home and let Hillary be accountable for her campaign... I don't see Gov Huckabee's wife out there say bad things about Mrs. Romney, or John McCain's wife out there dissing the other candidates... Who the hell is Bill to force his negative comments on us.. Let the candidates for the job win or lose our votes...

If Hillary can't send Billy Boy home, maybe she should go home and reconsider if she want to just stay home and bake cookies...

    • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/20/2008 11:34:03 AM

Great comment! If HRC can't control him now, what makes us think she can control him later? HRC should indeed be accountable - as Bill cannot and should not be on the ballot. Where are the "party elders", pointing out that this is unaccpetable.

      • Posted By: Panthro12373 @ 01/20/2008 1:01:12 PM

Carthage, I agree with you wholeheartedly. But the party elders are in a tough predicament. They know Bill is out of line, but they resist chastising him publicly because they don't want to acknowledge how splintered the party is becoming. You can be sure that he is getting an earful from the leaders of the party. Bill is way too thirsty for the throne to be discouraged by anyone, even the respected leaders of the Democratic party. It's a shame, and it is part of the reason why I am 100 times more open to a candidate such as John McCain than I was a month ago. I'm tired of the BS...

        • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 12:40:03 AM

Just look how strong this pro-mcCain snetiment becomes, among independents as well as life-long dems like us that are totally taken aback (understatement) by the Clinton antics. Obama is our best chance in a long time to appeal to the broader public, and to bring many new people into the public process - Obama was right; for many years, we have left the "ideas" / agenda/ initiative/organisation/ "narrative" to the republicans. There comes a point where the risks of loosing too many are greater than the risk of publicly admitting a rift. I think it's safe to say that any one who's following this is already aware of that. Although, not one rift; the Clintons bring will exploit them all: white/black , latino/black, gender, ... You name it, they'll use it. If the poll fits...

        • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/20/2008 3:40:44 PM

If it is true that no one in the party can discourage Bill directly, it seems that the only way to sop him is to endorse Obama, like Leahy did (and referring to the shameless suit), and Kerry did (refusing to support a candidate seeking to perfect swiftboating). But we can try, beginning with:- stop sending her $, convince others not to vote for her, pressure your senator and congressman to endorse Obama, protest every single low act as loud as possible... Show the Clintons WE do deserve better!

  • Posted By: beatpanda @ 01/20/2008 10:44:34 AM

    Attn: all Democrats

I am not a Democrat. I am an independent with no interest in party loyalty whatsoever. I have been drawn into your nominating contest because of Barack Obama. If you idiots nominate Hillary Clinton, you will squander the opportunity you have with me and thousands of others like me who came over to your side this year.

I, for one, will work hard to deliver McCain the Presidency if Clinton is nominated on the other side. Honestly, though, I don't think it's even necessary. He'll win by default.

    • Posted By: rgrace @ 01/20/2008 11:59:13 AM

This is a really important comment. I have been volunteering for Obama and you hear this from independents all the time. McCain will be able to beat Clinton. Or Bloomberg will get in if it's a partisan contest like Clinton/Huckabee. In that case - despite never having not voted for the democratic candidate - I will vote for Bloomberg. I'm so done with Bush/Clinton. And I am very done with Bill!

      • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 12:34:35 AM

I totally agree! And the number of independents HRC needs to attrackt are growing with every dem. she loses over they way they are willing to do anything, at any cost, for their own personal goals - forget the party!

  • Posted By: Dr. Cyberstudy @ 01/22/2008 12:29:59 AM

MLK just turned overr in his grave to have bill Clinton cleeping in the church when MLK, Jr was speaking. Shame on you once again FORMER Mr. President. I suspect he's so tired is because he spends a lot of time as THE Candidate and the Spouse.

  • Posted By: bettie01 @ 01/19/2008 10:01:26 PM

Bill Clinton called Obama out , sorry the truth hurts! Most Americans would love to go back to the 90s, no one cares about the 30% Clinton haters, the rest of us loved the 90s!!

    • Posted By: jnh1 @ 01/19/2008 10:48:26 PM

Go to pollingpoint.com. Hillary Clinton's negatives are 45% and will get marginally worse in the general election. She will need to get 50.1% of the 55% that remains. Very likely that even with a huge tailwind this year for Dems, you will be looking at President McCain or Romney in November.

      • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 12:20:27 AM

If the Clintons keep up this pace of driving a large segment of the dem. party away (her negatives are growing daily), she simply cannot win. Hse has no cross-over appeal, and attracts much less independents than McCain. I would like an independent polling group to track the number of dems willing to pledge they will NEVER vote for a Clinton again - that should bring the party 'elders" out - they should be scared and standing up for the party! The Clintons are willing to play up any divide for a short-sighted win, no matter the cost. Clinton Uber Alles!

      • Posted By: bettie01 @ 01/20/2008 12:29:39 AM

I respectfully disagree, I think the Clintons will redefine McCain as a Bush war monger. Just wait until Carville, Clinton, Dean, and Schumer begin to go after this Bush loving neocon.

        • Posted By: TStew @ 01/20/2008 12:53:52 PM

Truthfully, I think that a lot of democrats are so disgusted with this primary, they will not come out. Hillary will flip the equation: the republicans will come out in droves, some dem's will be so disheartened by the process, they won't. What the Clinton's had going for them was high approval amongst dem's. I'd like to see that number by the time they're through. They'll make John McCain look like a choir boy.

    • Posted By: look@thefineprint @ 01/19/2008 11:54:02 PM

Bill called Obama out on what? This is not the 90's and Bill is not SUPPOSED to be the one that is running for president...Hillary is. Why does she get credit for the positives of her husband's administration but not the negatives???

      • Posted By: bettie01 @ 01/20/2008 12:39:40 AM

Clinton called Obama out on his misleading comments about how he consistently opposed the war but hen voted for funding. What is the difference now between Obama and Clinton on the war? Nothing They have the ae position now except Hillary is more experienced... I refer to the 90s b/c Obama brought up Bill Clinton and the 90s when he was praising his hero Ronald Reagan!

        • Posted By: Carthage @ 01/22/2008 12:15:44 AM

Big difference - O spoke up against the war, loud and clear, Hillaray voted FOR the war, WITHOUT READING the 94 page NIE (no staffer had clearance), and Bill claims to have been against the war from the beginning - another bad Clinton lie; even Slick Willy could not parse himself out of that one, as he gave a public speech in support.

        • Posted By: LittleSam @ 01/20/2008 3:19:45 PM

I swear, if I hear one more person say that Obama said he was against the war but then supported funding I am going to scream my fool head off. Doesn't anyone ever listen to what the man says? Or do you only hear in sound bites. He has stated over and over again that he IS and WAS against the war but since it was going to go on anyway, he was not going to let the troops down and leave them hanging and therefore voted to fund!!!!!! Enough about this already.

        • Posted By: marcel @ 01/20/2008 1:16:56 PM

Boy you don't live in reality as "HRC" would say. Obama has clearly been against the war and once we went in to IRAQ, he chose to support the troops, which was the responsible thing to do. She didn't even read the d*** intelligence report and made an uninformed decision at a very critical time. But she's supposed to be the best CEO type to run the country??? I don't think so. I manage people and i do the necessary research before making key decisions. What HRC did was irresponsible and i really hope people start calling her on this BS. She's the one getting a free ride from the press, not Obama. Hell, when i turn on the news it's like the Hillary show. It's pathetic.

  • Posted By: Far Away @ 01/22/2008 12:16:01 AM

I wish The other Clintton in the campaign would step up his criticism of Obama, the more he does it the harder she will fall. It should be clear to everyone by now that the twin candidates feel strongly that they are ENTITLED to your vote. I wonder how African Americans feel when the listen to those two whipping Obama.
The twin candidates were shaken to the core when Obama won Iowa. Never in their wildest dream did they think it would happen. Their pettiness, nastiness and old politics have proven who they really are and that they would go to any lengths - even crying, as both of them are so damned good at doing - tto distort and confuse. They will never return to the White House. so keep on doing what you're doing Billy Boy
