I agree completely - G W Bush will go down in history along with Churchill, Reagan, Lincoln, and many of the other outstanding leaders of this century. Wish he could run again!

Shadow of Bush - It will take a mighty big man to fill his shoes!! Liberated 60 million Muslims. Replaced an insane dictator with a fledgling democracy all while Democrats are killing the patriot act and declaring the war lost!!

Let jingoists like Air Force Mom realize that before rushing off to fight for our country, it would be more prudent to examine whether our country should have been at all. It's Vietnam all over again: a rich man's war and a poor man's fight. If starry-eyed youngsters eager for glory want to join up for war, then there will always be phoneys like Dumbo Bush who will trick them into enlisting. It's an old lie that never fails to hook
youth: " Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori"

Yes, thanks Dubya. Since becoming president all food and energy costs have doubled or tripled. The only thing that hasn't gone up are middle class wages. Thank God Haliburton and Exxon-Mobile have made record profits. I, like all good Republicans love the rich and will sacrifice my own welfare to see them receive government subsidies and no bid contracts from the government. On the other hand, it is almost criminal to help a poor person. If we could only get Dubya a third term, maybe I could start thinking about moving into a trailer and eating dog food.

This post is for all of the hardliners that never want to listen to other points of view. During the Revolutionary war the redcoats used to hang colonists that colluded in the revolt. Before they were hung, though they were allowed to speak. What these men did in their dying minutes was to talk about why they were dying and what they were dying for. This helped to radicalize others. The same process is happening in the middle east. More and more muslims are being radicalized by a policy of force and hate.
The policies of the Bush administration have us stuck. We can't leave because if we do then the whole region could descend into chaos. The whole damn policy was based on faulty intel and lies. Just look at just what happened in the strait of hurmoz. Was it really speedboats trying to start wwIII of just a lie cooked up by the Bush Admin to push a failed policy???
The only way to really make these people pay is to get off of oil altogether. If we do not need oil, the middle east would fade into the background and become just a barren desert that no one would want to visit.

Republicans would do well with Obama. He has actually READ the constitution. Not only read it, but TAUGHT CONSTITUTIONAL LAW and was president of the HARVARD LAW REVIEW. He has shown that he listens to BOTH sides of an issue and has the judgement to go the right way. If you are sick of GWB and rovian tactics, If you cannot stand to think of another Clinton white house. Go dem and VOTE FOR OBAMA.

personally i'm more than happy to see george w bush, cheney, rove ,rice and the whole gang leave...... i was always embarassed by bush. i'm not sure he even ran the country-i think cheney was pulling a lot of strings. what is there to be proud of this administration?. we have a massive deficit, close to or in a recession, oil prices up, more forclosures of the housing market, no jobs. the middle class is being swallowed up. the poor-well forget that, we've all become the noveau poor. now president bush is in the middle east to help with the peace process. now that the country is ruined he can go over there and create havoc....

Same old radical media. Bush bashing . We had to do something about 911. What would Clinton have done? Demand an appology? probably. Iraq had WMDs, they were used on the Curds. Didn't you see the news reports? Every politician saw the same evidence and voted to go to war, now they backpedal and say "no, I didn't. I voted against it after I voted for it. Iraq had plenty of time to move their WMDs to Syria or any other Iraq-friendly nation before we got there. Yes I voted for President Bush and I would again. Democrats are cowards and really think they can reason with madmen. Just wait, if a democrat gets elected, there will be another Clinton or Carter fiasco. More interested in chasing skirts or pardoning his son " Draft Dodger" than leading in a powerful and unrelenting way. We needed Bush, I'm so glad he was in office and not Gore.

Lexy....america.........and the world........ is an absolute mess! and that was not the
case before Bush can to the WH....and most of planet earth has figured this out by now.....
you are an excellent case for the point that "politicians are NOT the problem with
      america........the VOTERS are."....GET a CLUE.

Bush is a radical with radical zealot idealologies. Forget about comparing him with Clinton. Bush has his own problems and those lives lost in Iraq...innocent lives, because of our war machine against a country that did nothing to deserve it. The CIA only did what Bush ordered them to do, to come back with evidence of wmd. And the media jumped on board with war propaganda. Shame on all of you for not using your own brains.

  • Posted By: nanday @ 01/20/2008 4:51:31 PM

At this point in time, it is Bush and Bush backers that are radical. It was rash and radical to enter Iraq. so, what weapons did Sadam use on the Curds? What weapons did we use on the civilians of Iraq.?Someone had to pay for 9/11, but why Iraq? I get my information from many sources, but a lot of how I feel about Bush, comes directly from watching and listening to Bush directly. Bush did this. He created a fiasco in the Middle East and made that region even more unstable. Bush deserves exactly what the media might say about him, but I must say how dissappointed I was in the media for getting on board that Iraq war propaganda that helped sway the American people into believing that Iraq was responsible for 9/11. What CIA evidence? This was a calculated series of events. Bush urged the CIA to find so called evidence. His mind was made up to invade before that went down. .
So many of us vote out of fear and ignorance.

The previous poster is the perfect example of why the GOP is in the muddle they are in. Things going bad?....BLAME THE MEDIA! Yeah right! The media gave Bush a free ride for YEARS after 9/11. The country (and the world) were completely unified and instead of taking the ball and running with it, Bush decided it was more important to play politics and try and make it work to his advantage. He could have been one of the most popular presidentes ever. In stead hs is absolutely the worst. The GOP needs to stop blaming other people for their woes and take a look in the mirror.

They said Regan was a failure too. A presidents legacy cannot be determined until a decade after his term ends. Newsweek should know better. By the way nobody has made mention of the fact that our country has been kept completely safe since the 9/11 attacks. Who among you really knows how many disasters have been avertred because of Bushes agressive forign and domestic policies. I guess since no news is good news some hack clamboring for a bit of ink has to write a piece like that and you all just lap it up. Our federal governments only responsibility is to protect its citizens the rest is up to us. So *** all you want and we will let history decide.

Bush 43 deseeves no credit for learning anything; he has demonstrated over and over again...as recently as the lame trip to the ME, that he knows nothing, can not learn anything, and is essentially nothing but a Fascist thug in the mold of Mussolini...and he deserves the same disgrace!

One man, Ronald Reagan resurrected, built into the majority, and safely lead the structure of the New Latter Day Republican.

And ignoramous, worthless, moron GW Bush. Destroyed all it's gains, it's public likeness image, and it's dethroning from prominance. All due to being and governing in the "hip pocket of the oil barons of greed, the
corruptible corporate execs of greed, and hip pockets of the give-me-a-tax-cut-or-die mentaliy rightists in the party. Thus you alone, in concert with the prior mentioned stupidious, greedy morons in the party. Squandered away the party's majority status, it's public in agreement image in the eyes of the American
    citizenry.

One man with a correct, high integrity, moral vision resurrected, restructured, and built the party. And stupidious, greedy, wannabee Bush, Jr. Destroyed it. So be it.

Neither party today is worth a grain of sand. All controlled throughout by some lobby or interest group or another. Thus also, so long America, as it once was. It's over for Ameria. It's now rapidly slipping into the historical abyss of lost nations, of power. Whom fell from prominance into the abyss of nations of history. All from interior, inside ignorance, greed, and corruption. Including former America. By, and rightfully so America.

More Bush criticism. The future belongs to those who can, YES, learn from the past, but even more, it belongs to those who can lokk to the future. Pres. Bush did what he did. He asked us to believe it, and of our own free will we did. Then when the bad news came, we ran for the hills. Shame on us. After all, we are adults and we decided to move in the direction indicated. likewise, when we had better information, we decided to evaluate the situation and we wanted a change of course. But reality is real. You cannot change the course of a super tanker in a dime, and you cannot change the course of the America on a dime. So, lets all be adults. He asked us to agree. We did. Then he asked us again, and we did. But then we changed our collective mind while he did not. So he asked us again, and through our congress we agreed, although our media says that we do not agree. Therefore:
Let's stop the Blaming of Bush, we are in this together.
Let's stop acting as though the media is innocent of complicity in all of this, they are in it with us.
    Let's get over it!
We need to move into the future. As that old showman Ronald Reagan said in the GE commericials, lets do it for a "...better tomorrow."

When someone lies to you and you decide to follow him, you have the perfect right to be angry and turn your back to him when you discover the truth. That is not "running to the hills". To admit you made a mistake and choose a different direction is the adult thing to do. Those that refuse to admit they were wrong and stubbornly continue to defend the liar thru his misadventures are cowardly children.. To those that will blast me for calling him a liar, I will remind you that only a liar will change his reasons for his actions several times to justify them.

Pon Paul flies his bird right next to his flag. That's all I need in a President. I dont care where candidates stand on the issues; they're representing American Majority, right? Ron Paul cured my apathy. Big Media does not control the Blogsphere, yet. Dr. Paul is not making headlines because he oposses Big Media's political agenda.

  • Posted By: Libertylover @ 01/20/2008 1:27:55 PM

With all the distractions of partisan people beating each other over the head, the main culprit responsible for many, if not most of the issues, the Federal Reserve, is making a clean getaway. Here is an organization that is not a real government agency, yet it has a stranglehold on our economy and many of the issues tied to it, and the Federal Reserve does not answer to anyone. The reason you won't hear Ron Paul bashing the other candidates is that he knows where the real blame belongs. The corporate media outlets have a lot to lose if he is elected, which is why they refuse to let him be a choice in this election.

Ron Paul proudly flies his bird finger right next to his flag. Afterall, thats the only quality I need in a leader. Ron Paul cured my apathy. Get on the Net and make your voice heard. The Big Media does not control the blogsphere.

This assessment of G.W Bush's Presidency is the best I've read. Hope it makes it into the history books. But then, he's been so good at the lies of omission and leaving no rich corporation behind, that too should be in the history books. Julie Clem

Could there be any other comment... other than Bush criticism?

I am sorry but what I have seen and heard... Chenney is running the show and Bush is but a mouth piece. We never did explore the vote issue because of 9/11. As the devaluation of the dollar and the refusal to use the dollar around the world becomes more and more evedant... it is evidance of the world view that America by allowing the Chenney/Bush regime to be running our country...

The candidates who wish my vote will be candidates who wish to see the vote count... radical change must occur to insure a free America... any candidate who does not address this issue and act on it before election time is a candidate who wants to be a part of the system... the system of corruption, deception, and running roughshod over the American people with fear based propaganda!

We have but one life to give for our planet... for our people ~ One tribe gathered together on one planet, in unity for the benefit of all peoples regardless of nationality, race, creed, religion...

Today we ask questions, tomorrow we shall rise up and act. We need answers... truth, backed by fact... we need a media who will be responsible to each and every event... "What was the chemical that effected the fire fighters who gave their lives to try to save others in the 9/11 event... " Did we ever get a good answer as to why Dick Chenney had his CIA plant lie to the American people... knowing full well there was "no" yellow cake? The world views the American people as irresponsible... as we have not taken action against the war crimes instigated by our own government... When shall we act... today, tomorrow, or have the American people become complacent, self indulgent people... money driven, damn the responsibility for truth, justice, and the American way...

God (and I mean the entity whom all nations, not just Americans embrace - the center of our spirit) Bless America, its people of all nationalities, its dedication to fairness, justice, kindness to fellow man... Give us all the dedication to strive to be better... and to make Peace, and not war... to be more understanding of our fellow man... to know that because he has a different name for the spirit that guides him, he is still guided by a spirit... one based on the same basic principles of guidance... to take time to understand the truth. For in truth, we would not have war... Pearl Harbor would not be a battle cry and so many Americans would not have been a tool to bring us to war... Forgive them Father, for they do not know... is not a viable excuse. We do know... and we need to stand and take responsibility! Go now, and make the world a better place!
