Comment: I have to say the as an Independent, I am totally disgusted by the Clintons. They have no shame or any decency. These two will do anything to get elected. And to further the notion of how low these two will go, someone please tell me, who exactly is running for the whitehouse? Is it Hillary or Bill? Listening to the two of them, you can't tell. That is just out right disgraceful.

You would think that the Clintons would have waited until after the primaries inorder to unleash their wrath but true to their characters, it doesn't matter who it is they are fighting. This is as "bloody" as one can get without actually committing the act! And to prove how bad it is, just listen to the pleas from the rest of the democratic party. They are saying, "pipe it down!" What else can one say?

Remember that evil cannot triumph. It can try and squirm its way around but it will eventually be defeated. The Clintons are in the "evil" realm of what humans are. Ultimately, their deceptive, corruptive and vicious nature will be squashed once and for all!!!

Comment: Between Omama and Clinton - they are both weak. But of the two, Obama shows strength within himself. Whereas Hillary and her husband seem to be weakening her campaign.

Comment: I am supporting Obama. After some thought, I welcome President Clinton and Hillary Clintons attacks. In fact, Obama should take the Clintons scrutiny and attacks with appreciation, respect, smile, and stride. That is, Obama should be saying, BRING IT ON!

The American people want to know whether the candidates have the character to be President. In reality, there is more than enough information at the candidates websites regarding policy and plans. Therefore, the race is really less about issues, but more about character. And rightfully so!

Obama has the character to be President of the United States. Consequently, he can handle anything the Clintons (or anybody) throw at him. It does not matter whether the accusations are fair or unfair. As President, you will be faced with fair and unfair criticism all of the time.

So far, Obama has not let me down. Granted, hereon out, he may fall or trip occasionally. However, I am behind him all the way to the Presidency.

    Comment: Dirty politics

The Hill Bill Show of the Clintons

The voters and the Hill Bill Show of the Clintons (plural) should be ashamed of the insidious and disgraceful republican smear tactics the Clintons are using. Mark Penn is the Clintons replacement for Carl Rove ??? Does anyone need more convincing of how big a mistake the Hill Bill Show will be? The Republican Party will be re-energized big-time by the Hill Bill Show. Republicans are chomping at the bit to fight Hill and Bill. Do you want another 4 or 8 years of partisan bickering between republicans and democrats?

The NY Times and Meet The Press before the Nevada vote caught Hillary and Bill again lying about her Iraq war voting but it has not been discussed. These lies are just another example of what to expect with the Hill Bill Show!

NY Times 1/14/08 pg 18 Defending Iraq War Vote

How can Hillary say on Meet the Press that "Chuck Hagel, who helped draft the resolution, said it was not a vote for war" when in fact the Hagel resolution never passed and it was a Gephart agreement sponsored by Lieberman that ultimately passed?

How could both Hillary and Bill (on Larry King Live) both misrepresent or intentionally spin or make up new facts that sound good but are not true?

    ???Electabilty???
Is character and honesty more important than experience?
How much of Hillary???s career has been spent ???in the trenches??? helping the people?
Senator Obama is more qualified and has better experience than Hillary.

    Campaign Promises
How do you expect Hillary to pass any of her main programs when republicans hate her, e.g., universal health care and withdrawing troops from Iraq, and keep them from being blocked by Republicans in the House and Senate?

Public servants at such a distance, and from under the eye of their constituents, must, from the circumstance of distance, be unable to administer and overlook all the details necessary for the good government of the citizens; and the same circumstance, by rendering detection impossible to their constituents, will invite public agents to corruption, plunder and waste." --Thomas Jefferson to Gideon Granger, 1800. WHY CAN'T WE SEE THAT THE PeoPle Profiting from the war are haPPy with the status quo. WHo are these PeoPle,
Private Contrators who lobbied the RePublican adminstration
Cheney/ Halliburton who Provided billion dollar contracts to selected firms.
These caPitalists decided to unite and Profit in Iraq, Build a new economy in Iraq where the oil comPainies, caPitalists that suPPort the Bush Administration, War Profiteers and other Private comPanies could all make Billions at the tax Payers exPense. HERE"S THE proof, keep in mind this is just the tip ot the ice berg

Cheney's stock options which were worth $241,498 a year ago, are now valued at more than $8 million-- for an increase of 3,281% . Cheney has pledged to give the proceeds to charity. Cheney continues to receive a deferred salary from the Halliburton. He was paid $205,298 in 2001; $162,392 in 2002; $178,437 in 2003; and $194,852 in 2004.

Halliburton, has already raked in more than $10 billion for work in Iraq, and was handed some of the first Katrina contracts. The company has been criticized by auditors for its handling of no-bid contacts in Iraq, and there have been numerous allegations of over charging for services. Auditors found the firm marked up meal prices for troops and inflated gas prices in a deal with a Kuwaiti supplier. The company also built the American prison at Guantanamo Bay. "It is unseemly for the Vice President to continue to benefit from this company at the same time his Administration funnels billions of dollars to it. Lautenberg???
They even "pimped" our troops. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Do you think Bush and Cheney care that we are spending billions in IRAQ, NO. THis is why they hated the CLINTONS. THE CLINTON"S ACTUALLY USED TAX payer money to help the middle class and all AMERICANS. We want our money back and will begin suing as soon as the administration is out of power.

Comment: We have been fooled by our own government and there is no way any Republican is going to win this election. THE Middle class has had it with all this Bin LADEN terrorist crap. WE are now scared of our own government more than we are of the terrorist because the decisions this government is making on our behalf is not in our best interests and it is killing us. The government is now dominating our civil liberties. They are giving the states millions for Real ID Cards. This is just the start of government intrusion. Combine this with the misuse of the Patriot Act and the future Plans of insurance comPanies and corporations to have full access to our personal records and we have a real crisis.
Credit Card companies have already started selling and sharing our personal information with the private sector. We really have to wake up and protect our constitution it is all we have to defend ourselves against interests that become too rich and powerful in this country. The government keeps expanding and is being predominantly controlled by special interest and lobbyist. The middle class is being weakened and our civil liberties are being threatened. Real ID Cards will not make "us safer" infacat terrorists can obtain fake ones and move about freely. The American people did not vote on Real ID Cards, we need a vote. Our constitution would have to be ammended in order for Real ID's to become legal. I do not know what has happened in Washington but it is getting out of hand. They know what they are doing is unconstitutional so they are trying to bribe the states by offering them money. I hope every state agrees with me and Prevents the federal govenment from imPosing and unconstitutional law. If the states allow the government to do this then they would have set a bad Precedent that could lead to further government violations.

Comment: Is Hillary and Bill out of their minds!? I can understand that Hillary wants to put out some negative talking points regrading Obama. In fact, its probably good for Obama to get things out before the general election. However, Bill and Hillarys methods are just bewildering. Its as though they are tounting Obama to pull out negative stuff about Bill and Hillary. And most people know there are a lot of stuff on the Clintons.

Do the Clintons really think that they are pure? Do they want the dirt on them to come pouring out during the primaries?

Obama has the threat of unleashing the Clinton scandals. However, he should not dish it out. Keep the threat alive. Its a case where the THREAT IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ACTION. People know that the Clintons are not pure. People know about the Clinton scandals all too well. Let the people connect the dots. Let the people see the irony of the Clintons accusing Obama of being unethical or disengenious.

Comment: If John McCain wins the Republican nomination for president, it will be fantastic for Barack Obama. All John McCain needs to do is continue to spew out his plan to keep this country at war for the next "100 years", as he has declared, and people will flock to anyone with an alternative view! That position is not what the majority in this country wants. It isn't even what most republicans want. Winning a war, in this case, does not mean 'until the last man is standing...' Winning means knowing when to say, 'enough is enough! Let's get these guys home'.

Comment: John you are a perfect example of a person who just cannot accept the facts. you have been defeated so your only way to strike back is to lie. This will get you no where. You should not be lazy, you should research and battle back with a strong argument. There is not doubt you are a Republican. Remember what the did to McCain in two thousand, he was up in South Carolina and on the verge of defeating Bush, What Happened, people like you and Karl Rove started calling people in SOuth Carolina and starting lying to the voters about McCain character. That is fact. It is fact that you JOHNFROST is your typical republican supporter. Even though your wrong you cannot accept it so you lie. You have probablly been lying your whole life just like this Administration. Take a page from Obama and congratulate you opponent when he defeats you. Do not lie and deny that you have been proven wrong.

His web site says that we should prepare Iraqis to take over their own security, something I think everyone would agree with. I don't think anyone except Kucinich, bless his heart, or Richardson thinks it's a wise idea to leave Iraq in a shambles. That would definitely not be in anyone's best interest. I hate this war with every fiber of my being but if we pull out precipitously, more innocent people will die. For better or worse we've got to fix what we broke and that may mean staying for awhile. Mark my words, if a Dem is elected he/she will follow the same (sensible) policy. You've forgotten what a hawk Hillary has been during the past 7 years.

What is worse is that a former President of the United States has assumed the role of an attack dog for his wife's campaign. I now believe Clintons will do anything to stop Obama. Democrats will loose the next election because Hillary can not win the general election and she (and Bill) won't let Obama win the primary.

Comment: THE REpublicans feel that it is their money since and should be given to the rich. THIS is what seperates REpublicans and Democrats. However, this line has been dimmed because The special interest has elevated to such power that they control both parties. War profiteers in Western NEW YORK made a lot of money. THE only people that are losing money in this War are the AMERICAN people the. THe one's who are getting richer and richer everyday are Bush/Cheney and their backers. WHile Cheney more than Quadrupled his assets and money the average American has been struggling to balance their budgets. Outsourcing, Iraq War, Neglect. DO YOU THINK CHENEY CARES aBOUT HIS CHECK BOOK OR YOURS. VICE presidents should be helping Americans. IT makes me sick to think the army said it could not afford body armour for our troops. This administration has kept the American people stupid. Do you think this administration would have gone to war it they themselves would loose billions of dollars, I don't think so. What Cheney and Halliburton and Blackwater have done is chicken feed compared to what the Oil companies are making. We have been fooled by our own people and their is no way any Republican is going to win this election. THE Middle class has had it with all this Bin LADEN terrorist crap. Comment: The republicans want Hillary to win. They know they have no chance against OBAMA. First they will start with a commericial showing all the so called CLINTON SCANDALS and at the end say, do we want to go back to this. Then they are going to blame her husband's administration for allowing the terrorist attacks and neglecting the Military. McCain is going to say that he is honest and stronger on foreign policy, this is why the Republicans are going to choose him as the nominee. He has crossover appeal. Huckabee's big mistake was letting everyone know he wanted to Health Care reform Health Care, he should have waited. The insurance companies let the Republican party know Huckabee is not in their best interest, Romney is. Republicans would have chose Romney but they know he would get annihalated in a genereal election. His Flip flopping and his inexperience in foreign policy would not vow well in a National Election. All this change talk from Romney is making Republicans nervous. They like the way things are. McCain is going to continue Bush's policy in Iraq. He is also going to continue Bush's economic plan. We need to tax the War profiteers especially securtiy firms like Blackwater and Halliburton. Someone should sue black water and other private firms for stealing tax payer money. You should protect Americans for free. The army was to lazy to provide protection for contractors why? Because this is the administrations way of giving the people'e tax money to the rich. Comment: My heart tells me Obama, my head tells me Edwards, the powers that be in the Democratic Party tell me Clinton. I think they win out. If that's the case I will support and vote for her as if she had been my first choice. Those that vote Republican are voting for more of our young people to be killed in a war that makes no sense and to continue the loss of respect from the rest of the world. Please even if you hate Clintonif if it comes down to her or a Republican you must vote for her.

Comment: I used to feel as you do. I've been an ardent Democrat all my adult life and even went door to door in Florida to campaign for Kerry, though he left me empty. From what I've heard, I think that both Romney and McCain realize the difficult situation that Iraq represents for us. I honestly do not believe that they will keep us there any longer than a Dem would. Now, of course, Guilliani is a different story but I don't think we'll have to worry about him much longer. I think our current standing in the world is a direct result of the crowd with which Bush surrounded himself. That crew has been almost entirely discredited. Even Wolfie couldn't keep his civvie job. The rest of the field, except for Huckabee, who is oddly liberal on some issues and oddly very scarily fanatically Right on many others, appears to be much more old-school conservative. Electing one of them would be a very welcome jump back to the left at this point. Remember, Clinton is a centrist, as are McCain and Romney.

Comment: Of late, I have heard many independents and Republicans state they could vote for Obama. And I have heard many Independants and Democrats also state that were Clinton to be the Democratic nominee they would vote for McCain. When prompted, it is the specter of another 8 years of a Clinton presence that just simply bumms them out.

  • Posted By: Sadie2 @ 01/22/2008 6:05:45 PM

Comment: Obama, Edwards or Clinton. I would be happy with any one of them. Please people no more Republicans this time around. The Country let alone the World can't survive another 4 years.

Comment: I am an Edwards supporter. It's looking doubtful that he will be the nominee but unless she changes her tactics, I will absolutely not vote for Clinton should she come out on top. I would rather vote for McCain, who appears to have a sense of honor and decency. I've been a lifelong Dem but I am tired of her type of politicking. We need to move beyond divide-and-conquer politics. Criticizing your opponent's record is one thing, but her campaign has sought to paint Obama as the 'African-American Candidate' in some not-too-subtle ways. Additionally, I am still waiting for the name of the Nevada Culinary Union boss who was threatening his members if they voted for Clinton, as Bill said. I think that is a lie and the sad thing is, it wouldn't be his first. Our country cannot heal its divisions with another Clinton presidency.

Comment: I agree with you completely. I'm not a Democrat by any means, but I could live with Edwards or Obama. Hillary, now she is just slimy and untrustworthy. It would be a very sad day if she were elected.

      • Posted By: lancemonotone @ 01/22/2008 8:30:25 PM

Comment: I'm beginning to agree with you, although to be fair I think the Right has demonized her, and I've still not heard any compelling reason for it. She is a self-confident and accomplished woman, which is not my reason for disliking her. Sadly, while I believe she fights for worthwhile goals that would help a lot of people, she has been attacked so often and so harshly that she has begun to assimilate her tormentors' methods. This kind of politics has got to end, or our country will continue its downward slide into factionalism and irrelevance, and possibly even violence. I just don't see the reason for it. We're all Americans and our differences are not so profound that we cannot talk about them civilly. Edwards can do that. Obama can do that. McCain can do that. Even Romney can do that. If Clinton is the nominee, I will vote for McCain or Romney. If neither of those two Republicans make it, I will boycott this election. Or pray for Bloomberg.

  • Posted By: Dems2008 @ 01/22/2008 5:54:41 PM

Comment: It is sad to see that the traditional lowball politics of Washington is something Obama will have to overcome to earn his place in the White House. I've been following the campaigns from the very start, and every time Hillary starts to feel threatened by Obama, her claws come out, she (or an assigned staffer) blurts out some underhanded comment to the media, and then they try to take the heat off her by saying "I meant something else by that" or "the staffer who said did it without us knowing {yeah, right} and we've fired them." If she truly doesn't have enough control of her campaign organization, how will she have any control over her administration?
I was a precinct captain in Iowa for the Obama campaign. At every turn - making phone calls, canvassing door-to-door, and during the caucus, we were instructed in no uncertain terms to be polite, courteous, and respectful no matter what the opponents' supporters said to us. We followed that directive, and people appreciated it. That's part of why Obama won Iowa.
But at some point, every candidate has to fight back when the claws come out (in this case Billary's). So don't blame Obama for standing his ground; that's his job as a candidate. And by the way, I think it's an excellent tactic for Edwards to shift his positions closer to Hillary's; it will take some of her support away, give Obama the nomination, and secure the Vice Presidency for Edwards. Obama/Edwards '08!!!

I am one of the people who attempted to get Colin Powell to run because I firmly believe that he would make a great president.

You need to realize that arguing a person's color as the reason that anyone makes a comment only shows grave insecurity in your position. I was hoping that you would understand that for most Americans, racism is not part of our daily life. (Boston excluded)

You need to argue the position not the color of your candidate. Once you do that then you will have crossed the line like Parks did and we will know that race does not matter.

I am thoughtful enough to recognize that Obama's comment was not considered racist...albeit not the best commenty to make...especially when people are LOOKING FOR ANY REASON!!!! But, the REAL fact of the matter is that the comment is nothing compared to the blantant RACIST policies of bushwhack, and the despicable verbage of Don Imus.....WHOM YOU ALL RANTED AND RAVED ABOUT HIS RIGHT TO SAY DEMEANING WORDS regardless of who they hurt!

You guys are so two-faced and fake.....say the real reason that you dont like OBAMA...it's not because he is "too inexperienced" its because he is TOO BLACK. And the guilt and fear imbred into your very fiber is scared at what you think will be done to YOU once he wins!

I don't care if you are green, if you got it you got it. If you don't then you don't. He is an inexperienced sideways talking spoiled rich kid who did ILLEGAL drugs. I did drugs but I respect the office of the presidency too much to want to actually take it.

Get over yourself and admit that you like him because he is black. And if you are woman it is OK to like Hillary because you are a woman. But at least admit it. And admit that he should not be protected from factual discussion by answering every critic with " the real reason is he is too black." TO tell you the truth he acts really white to me. Comment: Regarding last nights debate, the question posed to Obama: was Clinton the 1st black president, his response I would first have to see him dance was disgusting. Had Clinton or Edwards made that comment the media and most Americans would have had a field day calling them racists and rightfully so. His response should have been I would first have to find out what experiences he suffered being a black person in America. Making a comment that is from the 1950s is not the mind set of a progressive candidate. Who is the real racist here?

Comment: It is difficult to believe that two presidential candidates are squabling on live TV. I really thought that finally we had the Republicans on the ropes after destroying the country during these last seven years. But leave it to the Democrats to screw it up once more. I am an independent who has voted for Clinton twice only to hear him lie under oath in the case of Monica L. And frankly from where I stand Obama has a right to defend himself. I can imagine that if Hillary is elected that the country will have to withness the constant interference of Bill, perhaps his age will spare us his sexual escapades of prior years. Its really unfortunate. I do think sometime that presidential candidate today are too disreputable, too power hungry and franly unprepared for what has to be the most difficult job in the world. We might do better to dispense with the Presidency.

When will we advance our society?

He was rude to everyone by speaking for 4 to 5 minutes on every question even the 30 second ones. He interupted everyone whenever he felt like it. He is a spoiled rich kid with an oversized ego. As for political experience I urge you to look at all the canidates records and find someone who works for the people and for the good of this country. You will be hard pressed to find a clean and honest record like Obamas. One last thing Obama HAS NOT used race as an issue. It is the media portraying it that way. If you were to ever watch one of his speeches you would know this. GET INFORMED.

You are blinded by the "Denzel of Politics". He has no substance and no record because he won't go on record because it might offend a potential voter. We need a strong candidate that puts his opinion on the line not a panderer who speaks of glory on other's nickel.

  • Posted By: ocmack @ 01/22/2008 1:54:31 PM

Comment: If you can't win it on your own, Hillary, you need to step out of the race. Come to think of it -- I'm not even sure I know Barrack's wife's first name. A disgraceful display of decorum by Hillary last night; and the Clinton's as a whole up 'til now. I can fault Barrack for his lack of "coming clean" on his lack of votes ("present??") in the Illinois Senate, but what's that about Hillary's track record as claiming 35 years of service to her country (as what planning dinner parties at the White House and in Little Rock?). Give me a break. Get over the bickering, attack operodi, and get down to some real discussion on the issues.

Comment: Gauging by the applause and body language of the audience, Obama was the undisputed winner of Monday's debate. He truely "danced like a butterfy and stung like a bee".Hillary got more than she bargained!!!.
We all know the inspirational message of "change and Hope" is what all Americans been thirsting for. The magic of Obama is that he can inspire with such elequence, conviction and honesty that he embodies MLK and JFK in one.And just like MLK and JFK, with words and action he has tranformed this debate to a higher level than the dirt-slinging old debates Hillary represents.
On the substantive issues:the economy, health care, ending the war in Iraq, poverty and civil rights; Obama offerred far more realistic, achievable plans than Hilary's or Edwards.Hillary's claim that government mandated universal health care(including illegal immigrants, should be an article of faith for democrats is too far left and sure recipe for disaster come November!!!.By that Hillary by her own words, has come to represents and embodies the views of the radical left. No mom, you a million ideas but Americans can afford you nor are ready to give up their rights to decide and choose what is good for them including health care.Trying to win votes at all costs in the short run will cost the democrats election!!.
According to who is better and able to beat the republicans, definitely it is Obama by most experts and polls. With Hillary's image as a polirizing figure like George Bush is and with more than 50% negatives; she is a sure disaster come November because her so-called experience and readiness will pale to John Macain's foreigh policy experience and war hero!!!.
But Obama though short experience in foreign policy,he was the first senator who got it right. He opposed the war thus exbiting the right political judgement we need in a commander in chief not the trigger happy Macain nor the easily manipulated Hillary by Bush commander in chief. And dispite his short tenure in the senate, his record of legislative achievements on substative issue is far superior to Clinton nor Macains!!.
And on this point Obama is like FDR and JFK .He posses extra-ordinarily superior political judgement that will serve his well in future crisis like FDR did despite his so called lack of exprience in foreign policy. Ronald Reagan had no experience in foreign policy but masterminded the downfal of the Soviet Union. I will bet on a superior political judgement not on experience of a president whose wife is claiming as her on. Is excutive exprience transferable because you married the CEO how untrue!!!.

Comment: I wonder what debate you were tuned to? Obama didn't answer any question at all. He had no plan for helping poverty. His health care is completely unfunded and only gives care to the wealthy ignoring children completely. He was arrogant and rude.

      • Posted By: CalexanderJ @ 01/22/2008 5:23:12 PM

Comment: I'd like to refute a couple of statements in your post. 1. Obama AND John Edwards both stated they had plans for helping poverty, although I didn't hear specifics on how they would get it done.
        2. Obama stated during the debate that all his spending would be paid for, and has talked about raising the cap on social security taxes to help pay for some initiatives something the Clinton has said she wouldn't do.
        3. While choosing to not mandate health care for everyone he has stated that he would make it required for children.
        4. I wll not dispute your assertion that he was arrogant and rude, how I feel he is no more arrogant that many candidates running (Guiliani, Romney, Clinton) and he certainly wasn't any ruder than Hiliary was.

Comment: I was viewing the date last night with unbias eyes. Re-roll the tapes and you will see that Obama was the first to start slinging mud! Did you not notice the even John Edwards was defending Hillary, saying that Obama was not on track with true democratic beliefs? Seriously people, get educated or don't vote. Obama is more power hungry than any candidate. He wants a job that he is NOT qualified for! Any republican candidate will beat him to a pulp. At least John and Hillary stand up for their beliefs, admit their mistakes, and make action plans to fix out problems.
Barak just dances around the issues, makes excuses for his actions and has no clear plan about any economic or social issue. Who does that remind you of? Oh yeah, George Bush. Let's just elect another unqualified candidate.. Are the american people really that ignorant?

Comment: In politics it can get nasty at times even between members of the same party. What yesterday's debate once again confirmed is that the race to the white house is going to be an uphill one. What is wrong with Americans knowing more about thier candidates? What is wrong with defending yourself in a debate? Democrats as well as Republicans should understand that they need to work together to move the country forward.

Comment: After watching the debate last night, Edwards stood out as the clear winner. How come he is never discussed in your articles?? Only mentioned once or twice makes it seem as though he was not really there. I know the media is always biased but please do not be so obvious!

    • Posted By: CalexanderJ @ 01/22/2008 5:48:55 PM

Comment: I agree that John Edwards performed well in this debate and in the Nevada debate as well, however it is important to remember that Edwards best STATEGY is to lay back and let the front runners attack each other. I expect that if he was the front runner he would have to employ a much different strategy during debates. Further media, like everything and everyone else is biased but I think most of the country is interested (maybe just out of plain curiousity) in the first serious black and women nominee this country has ever had and so coverage tends to reflect that

Comment: Hill's lamentation after Iowa and before NH with her regretful expression that "she had so much opportunity" is so pregnant with unspoken words then. Now I know what she meant, no more cackling Hillary but unleashed the full frontal mad dog Hillary to scare Barack ! Unfortunately for her, that is not what the country wants and was looking for. The country is so tired of being divided and was ready for a change, but the Clintons loved the past era and wants it's restoration. When the voters see them for what they are, educated voters will dump them !

Comment: Nicholas Kristof from NYTimes have a column on Jan. 20 that drew on the
comparative experiences of Barack and Hill. He also called Hill's claim of 35
years experience as spurious. Barack's legislative experience is definitely
superior to the parochial bills that Hill was only capable of promoting. If you
honestly compare even their length of service in the Senate, everybody should
expect Hill should win in quantity, but that's not the case, Barack's output
would swamped Hill by landslide, much more in terms of quality and impact not
only to the country but to the world. So where/what did Hill spend her Senate
experience ? The answer lies in her penchant to appear in front of cameras to
show off how hard she worked, but producces nothing, perhaps even snuggling up
with more senior colleagues in a drinking spree to bond with them ! Let us ask
her to numerate her Senate output in live TV debate and follow it up in
comparison with Barack's and see how spurious and inferior was her experience !

Comment: As much as I think Edwards stood apart from the fray of the night, it doesn't take a genius to figure that when two parties are busy firing at one another, taking the higher ground is pretty simplistic strategy. To me, I think everyone's criticism of Obama's sophomoric unease in debates can be very readily compared to that of Hillary's when she started out in the eye of public service???it's the system that grinds you down and hardens you to the fact that you are submitting to taking low blows through your spouse instead of playing it straight. I don't blame him for being uncomfortable hitting back when it goes against his core ideology of transcendence of hope. He is truly bearing up against the "machine" of 24/7 scrutiny, parsing of semantics, and grueling campaign tours that politics has become in the 21st century??? I wonder if FDR, JFK or even Lincoln himself would have been elected in this day, in this way. But it all comes down to the fact that, really, all three of these candidates are far more intelligent and capable (despite their detailed plans and the differences of each) of running the country than Bush or the Republicans have been. So Hillary and Bill need to cut the crap out of their campaign and let Hillary and her record in the Senate speak for itself. Edwards needs to continue his message of steering the conversation back to the issues and clarifying his attributes ???.while Obama just needs to say he's not going to tolerate any more of the baiting from the Clintons, keep his message of hope and transcendency in the forefront, and run the kind of campaign he always wanted no matter the polls. Speak on for Hope! This country needs inspiration, aspiration, and the admiration of our peers once again!

Comment: Hillary, the junior senator from New York? How many years has she been in public service? Honestly, first lady is not a public service.

Also, Hillary is TOO OLD, if she calls Obama young. Will Hillybilly call JFK too young IF he were to run today?

  • Posted By: GeeMan @ 01/22/2008 9:21:45 AM

Comment: Well, now it looks like Bill and Hillary have settled for the Samson option - pull the Democratic Party temple down if needed for them to return to the White House. Goodluck folks, some of us are bailing out of the building to watch this one from the sidewalk in November. I'm so thoroughly disgusted at the turn of events for my former party. Billary, you have the party, like you planeed with Terry McAuliffe, to yourselves now.

Comment: Don't think the exchanges were any worse than some of the exchanges seen between Romney and Huckabee in earlier debates. However, Obama and Clinton lost sight of the real problem - the dire need to take the nation's foreign policy away from the chickenhawks, take our fiscal health away from prescriptions written by deficit spending addicts, and economic control away from those that believe in trickle-down economics.

  • Posted By: darkeknight @ 01/22/2008 8:42:39 AM

Comment: This is a tragedy for the democratic party to see all three candidates bickering in a childish, immature way that Jerry Springer could only love. This is what happens when you employ the tactics that the Clintons use to win at all costs and arrogantly think that they can persuade people to forget their ridiculous behavior. I believe we as people forgave them when they were maliciously attacking republicans, but to see them go to that level on their own is absolutely appalling. I really have my doubts that the democratic party can bounce back from this, they are truly divided...Thanks Bill and Hillary. You have lost my vote for good!!! I must admit though that Obama held his own very well taking incoming from both sides of the podium while being pulled into the fray.

Comment: Last night's debate have finally exposed to the whole world that the Clintons are really so power hungry that they will go to all extent even at the sacrifice of their image as fighter for equal rights. The black voters should remember what they saw with Hill's scrappy behavior to even grab Barack's time to speak without any hesitation. If they can do it in front of the whole world just to score their points and make them appear good, everything she said was meaningless. How can someone fight for equal rights if she doesn't even give Barack the equal time to rebut the Clintons and he was running against both at the same time. This should be taken advantage by Barack and exposed their hypocrisy of fighting for the black people when they can't even allow Barack to have his own time ! I hope the whole world now see the Clintons for what they are, distorting, lying and shutting out their enemies. How can Hill claimed that she can work with the GOPs when she have shown to the whole world that she doesn't even have the slightest courtesy to hear out the other side ? This is what made the Clintons divisive and the debate only reinforced that character.

Comment: Obama seems so passive agressive, he can dish it out but he sure can't take it. He will fold up under the heat from the republicans. The problem is his record is just to weak to run on. There is nothing there...there. Clinton is the best eqipped to run and be president.

    • Posted By: pmcs @ 01/22/2008 2:00:37 PM

Comment: Is your president going to be called Billary or Hillbill? One thing clear, you are then electing a PACKAGE PRESIDENT, I frankly don't know how many Americans can stand these two disgusting figures in the white house for four years. FYI, I was an ardent supporter of Bill even during the Monica scandal and impeachment process. Now I think it would have been better, FAR BETTER, had Bill been removed from office by Senate through the impeachment tiral. I will probably renounce my Democrat party membership.

Comment: I thought Obama's response about him voting present (instead of yay or nay) well over 100 times was his weakest moment of the night. He always seems to skirt around any issues that reflect on him negatively. Why can't he just be accountable for his actions? He is always covering them up, denying that the issue exists, or diverting attenti
