An Untimely Death

I AM VERY SADDENED BY HEAT H LEDGR'S DEATH. HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR AND IT WILL BE A BIG
LOSS TO HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FAN.

Shocked is such a tiny word to explain how I feel right now. He was one of the greatest actors of this time. My thoughts and prayers are with Matilda and his family. I loved him so.

Shocked is too small of a word to say how I feel. Pure disbelief. My thoughts and prayers are with his daughter Matilda, and his family. I loved him so. He was one of the greatest actors of this time.

Clearly he was a talented but tortured soul who found calmness and strength for a while with Michelle Williams. Sadly we will never know what he could have become in this life. I feel for that innocent little child. It is so very sad.

I was so shocked when I heard. Heath was a major part of me growing up... his movies almost define my teenage years in a sense. He was such a talented and incredible actor that we will all truly miss. My thoughts and prayers go out to Heath's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

He's gone. RIP Heath. We love you.

Heath was an Australian, we are, unafraid to stand for what we believe in and we will make our mark.
Tis a real shame Heath is gone. A tragedy. I feel sorry for his folks, wife and most of all his daughter.

I just read elsewhere that Ambien, Valium and Xanax were found at the scene of the death. If you are familiar with neuropsychopharmacology, it's easy to see what could have gone wrong. Ambien/zolpidem is a GABA agonist, and Valium/diazepam and Xanax/alprazolam are both members of of a different kind of GABA agonist (benzodiazepines). Mixing different types of GABA agonists is a bad idea, because it increases the activity of them tenfold, or to put it differently, 1+1 = 20. It just so happens that alcohol is another type of GABA agonist, so if one hypothetically takes Ambien, Valium and alcohol at the same time, 1+1+1 would add up to 300. If that went over your head, the point is that you shouldn't drink if you're on any of these medications and you should tell your doctor what you are taking, or you risk a fatal drug interaction like Ledger apparently experienced! This is speculation, but perhaps Ledger didn't tell his doctors what he was taking (I would think that a doctor would be hesitant to prescribe benzodiazepines and Ambien at the same time), or assuming that he did, he took too much medication for his weakened body to handle. What his death was NOT is evidence, as one person commented earlier, that psychiatric drugs and depression are a fraud upon the American public. Know what you are talking about before you make such ludicrous statements, please!

i am deeply saddened by the untimely death of one of the most respectable and talented hollywood actors who, indeed, did not bother himself to take the pretty boy's path to stardom. I saw most of his movies and "Brokeback", I believe, brought the best and highly qualitative portrayal he had ever done as an actor. He did not win the best actor award, but he was, for me, the winner. Asa Filipino who loves movies, Heath was a rare jewel who could have gone a long, long, way towards entertaining and high quality films. My prayers and appreciation for who and what you are as an actor, Heath, are with you. In a short period of your acting career, you have shown to the world that raw talents and quality acting can still be found in a now highly commercialized hollywood movies. Thank you, and may your soul rest in peace!

HEATH WAS NOT ONLY A GREAT ACTOR HE WS A GREAT GUY.. I ONLY MEET HIM 3 OR 4 TIMES BUT HE WAS ALWAYS THE BEST PERSON TO BE AROUND HE LOVED HIS FAMILY AND ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT HIS DAUGHTER. HE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR A LIFE TIME;;;;MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND MICHELLE GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BABY.

It truly breaks my heart to hear that his daughter no longer has her Father to protect her. I sure he was a great Dad and loving Father. May he rest in peace. Heavenly Father forgive him for what has happened, and watch over his entire family until they meet again.

I hope the other "Young, invincible,"stars take note. Heath was a healthy and vibrant young man but was only one large dose away from death. Lindsey, Britney, Nicole and Paris...don't put your family through the torment Heath's family is going through now. Lif is worth living and you all have something to contribute!

His death deserves no scorn, contempt nor mocking; it's not a question of sympathy,
for as we say in Marine infantry, "sympathy is a sad word, found somewhere between
scab and syphilis." May Heath Ledger rest in peace and may his daughter and the
mother of his daughter find a way to get beyond their grief, which must be terribly
difficult to deal with now. Like Merrib said, "God bless him, his child and his
family . . . . everyone whose life he touched." Amen to that.

Hearing of Mr. Ledger's passing caught me completely off guard. Given his affinity for staying out of the limelight, seemed to help the whole "star" thing. One has to wonder what the true reason is. He will be sorely missed by me and the entire fan base. God Bless him, his child and his family....everyone whose life he touched.
