I'm still in shock too. It breaks my heart to see how the life of such a young and promising actor, slips away. I am pretty sure this was a fatal accident, something very common in young actors. My condolense to his family and close friends.

Definitely gone too soon. He had the potential for GREAT things. I will miss the roles he never played.

I am still in a bit of shock. I had to read that line, "heath ledger, dead at 28," several times before I could believe. What a fine actor. I will always remember his deep soulful expressions in Brokeback Mountain and the real human pain he conveyed as he held onto the shirt of his deceased lover. heath, wherever you are, you will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with your family, especially your young daughter. rest in peace.

It is so hard to believe. I can still see him singing and dancing on the bleachers in the movie, "10 Things I Hate About You." He will be missed by all and my heart goes out to his family.

I have great appreciation of Heath's choice of movie roles and his determination of not being just another pretty boy in Hollywood. It's very sad to see such young talented actor pass away. He will be missed tremendously. I hope all the young trouble stars out there can take a moment and think about how drugs and alcohol can ruin a great career, and a bright future for that matter.

I first saw Heath in A Knight's Tale and fell in love with his self-effacing attitude and little-boy mischeviousness. It was a big surprise to watch his career go the way it did. He could truly take any character and make it his own. It seems that the more talented the actor, the more emotional pain they seem to suffer. Unfortunately, they seem to take some of the characters they play into themselves, and that isn't always a good thing. River Phoenix, Brad Renfro, Jim Belushi, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin. It always seem that the most talented suffer for it and turn to drugs or alcohol to ease the pain. Unfortunately, it's the good ones that seem to burn out the fastest. I hope his young daughter is always reminded of what a genuinely good guy her dad was and that his family and friends are comforted by the good things he left behind. I know God has a plan for him, as he does for all of us, and I know there will be one more bright star in the sky tonight. We will miss you Heath.

Its so hard to beleive. He was a very good actor. I think he had family issues. He was very family orientated. Not sure why he and his wife divorsed but he loved his daughter. He was one of those good actors who wanted nothing to do with the tabloid or any other kind of publcity. He was genuine. I will miss him greatly

What a shame. I really believe that actors underestimate the effects or toll it takes on their mind and souls when they take on very dark roles. The day in and day out immersing himself playing someone evil in his last role took it's toll. He himself stated he could not sleep and obviously hye had no grounding or spiritual foundation to bring him back to reality. Welcome to Hollywood. I 'm very sad and mourn with his family.

Well, first he is better then Timberlake or DeCapiro!!!! I am thinking since he seemed such a family guy it has something to do will the break up. I am very shocked. He was wonderful, I have all his films. I think he might have had troubles like the rest of us. He wanted to be a normal person and it was working until his breakup but it wasn't like Brittney. it sound like he might have had sleeping issues and just took to many sleeping pills, which is very unfortunate. I am very sad and willl miss is acting roles greatly.

Unbelievable is all I can say. Heath was a wonderful talent and although I'm not very familiar with many of the films he's been in, it's plain to see what an amazing actor he was. Rest in peace Heath and may God be with you, your family and friends, and especially your little girl during this time of grief. For everyone's sake, I hope your untimely death will not go unnoticed and will open up people's eyes to the tragedies of drug abuse and the end result. What a terrible loss to the film industry.

I am still in shock and disbelief at this tragic loss. He was a great actor, very talented, and most importantly so young. As for his family and friends my thoughts are with them. Heath Ledger will be missed greatly. Hope you rest in peace, and thank you so much for your contribution during your lifetime.

I'm in tears. Wow. I'd hoped to see him in movies for decades to come. My thoughts are with his family and those that loved him. Whatever the cause of his death, he will be deeply mourned. Rest in peace, Heath. Thank you for the characters you've given us; from Patrick to Ennis to the Joker.

I wish that today's "young hollywood" would deem tragic lossed like this, and Brad Renfro earlier this month a wake-up call! Drug and alcohol abuse seem to have always been acceptable and even expected in Hollywoods social circle. For so much amazing talent to die so young is heart-breaking . I only hope SOME light comes of these tragic losses, and it opens someones eyes enough to save their life!

I am blown away. He was so young and so talented. His choice of acting roles were diverse and bold. I feel very sorry for those he leaves behind, his daughter, family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.
