Comment: Obama is still rambling -- he hasn't even addressed the question at hand about what he said about Hillary!

Unbelievable! And he's one to talk about special interests, look at all of the Oil and Energy Money backing him with campaign money!!

Comment: They have repeatedly let Obama wander on and on -- why aren't they nailing him for his failure to vote on key issues affecting farmers? HIV/AIDs? Check out his 118 missed votes and the major issues he did not vote on as a Senator! Why can't they raise issues about his voting history? This speaks volumes about his performance as President!!

Comment: They keep interrupting Clinton and letting Obama give his speeches. Unbelievable!

Comment: A SINKING CANDIDATE WILL HANG ON TO A STRAW; PERHAPS, BUT I PRESUME THE ONLY STRAW YOU'LL FIND IN THIS OHIO'S DEBATE MIGHT BE ATTACTHED TO CAN OF SODA SOMEWHERE IN THE AUDIENCE..

Comment: THERE IS ONLY ONE QUESTION ON MY MIND; WHO IS BEST ABLE TO ADOPT ONESELF TO ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES, POLIITICALLY AND NON-POLITICALLY WITH RAPIDITY AND ACCURACY, TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION GLOBAL, ECONOMIC AND ATMOSPHERIC CHANGES? YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORLD IS A BIG CIRCLE; MANY OF THE TODAYS ANSWERS LIES IN THE PAST BUT WE' RE SO BUSY SEARCHING FOR THE FUTURE THAT IT HAS BECOME A CONFLICT. WHAT WE NEED ARE LEADERS WITH GREAT AMOUNT OF FLEXIBILITY, WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING AND ENOUGH PATIENCE TO LISTEN TO THE NATION.

Comment: I DON'T KNOW IF THE WORD PARSE APPLIES, BUT THE OBAMA RENO REFERENCE TO REAGAN IGNORES A REAL SERIOUS PRESIDENT IN JIMMY CARTE WHO CORRECTLY STATED THAT THE COUNTRY WAS IN A MALAISE AND CALLED FOR ZERO BASED BUDGETING(SPENDING WHAT WE HAVE AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE) AND MOSTLY NOTABLY CALLING FOR CONSERVATION AND LESS USE OF FOREIGN OIL WHICH CAUSED A PROBLEM BUT WAS AHEAD OF THE TIMES. REAGAN SCRAPPED HIS IDEAS AND TOOK THE COUNTRY INTO A TORANADO OF FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILTY

Comment: What matters to you most when choosing a presidential candidate?
    1. honesty & integrity

    2. someone who will defend our constitution, our borders and our sovereignty.

    3. someone who knows the political system and can actually get things done.

    4. a good public speaker who can inspire, motivate and unite our very divided country.

    5. someone who can earn the respect and support of the people

    6. someone who practices what he preaches

Do you think such a person exists?

If yes, can that person maintain those traits, once in office?

If no, what can the people do?

Should the Electoral College be eliminated?

Comment: Newsweek is just about the most bias publication I know of when it comes to political reporting. And the glee shown by some of the writers borders on the ludicrous. Please stop injecting your personal elitist views into what should be objective reporting. It is plain for everyone to see that people have been abandoning in droves from your magazine. I for one stop subscribing to your magazine because I thought some of your regular contributors are living in lululand.

Comment: This Black White slugfest between the Clintons and Obama are fodder for the Republicans in the fall. For the past several elections the Republicans have won the political game of "divide and conquer". In this case Obama drew Bill out by ignoring his eight years when suggesting that it was the Republicans with the ideas since Reagan and then cleverly saying, "I didn't say they were good ideas". How could Bill resist? Clever! And then he played "hurt" when Bill struck back. Now the Republicans know how to beat Hillary, Bill and even Obama. Obama gave them a road map!

Comment: The media is reprehensible. They are all primadonnas that can not admit when they are wrong. They interrupt their guests, step on worthwhile comments, and act all high and mighty. If the media wants to continue this jibberish, I believe at some point in time the American People will turn them off. I guess the WRITERS STRIKE is really a bad thing. BTW Chris Matthews , I believe, was the first to interject race, when he said after NH primary, that black voters would say one thing to the pollsters (voting for Obama), but when in the privacy of a voting booth they voted for Hillary. Someone should look up his quote on that.

And another thing - What the heck was the relevance of Tim Russert's question at the debate, about what Toni Morrison said about bill Clinton being the first Black President???? What the heck was that .....???if not to stir up the racial issues.
NO ONE CARS what she said, and many people do not even know who she is.

Comment: Here is the testimny of the man who claims had gay sex and CRACK Cocaine with Obama. Curiously Obama has NOT disputed Mr. Sinclair testimony.

OBAMA PROBABLY DOESN'T WANT TO BE TESTED FOR COCAINE SO HE LIES LOW FOR NOW. AND HOPES THIS SCANDAL WILL GO AWAY.

Obama is accused and up against the wall.
The Obama camp is silent which is suspicious since if untrue they would be suing Sinclair right now.

Comment: Voted and supported Senator Obama who is campaigning FOR America ! He's not campaigning to be the first black president. That will be as incidental as the late president, John F. Kennedy, being Catholic. He's campaigning to bring unity that erases party lines and revolutionizes a deeply dysfunctional government. Dysfunctional political tactics employed by a disgraced ex-president, and the disgrace of silence in the immediacy of false or mischaracterized accusations by candidate Clinton will serve only to reinforce this country's dysfunctional government. I've chosen a presidential candidate who is brilliant, who has heart, who has character and integrity, and who has the courage of his convictions, including voting his conscience.

    Comment: Comment:
In Obama's own words yesterday he said he is not sure if the people who support him now would support Hillary if he (Obama) is not the Democratic Party candidate in November. Obviously he will not. He also said three days ago he would have to check and see how well Bill Clinton could "dance" before he would consider him to be a "brother". Some of my very best lifelong friends are Black, Hispanic, and Muslim. I am very, very concerned that Barrack Obama is a closet racist that will destroy the race relations in this country.

So I humbly ask that you and all those you know to do your own investigation and report this if true and put an end to this divisive primary campaign before too much damage is done.

    God Bless You.

Former Host, The All Things Military Show and The Daily Briefing Radio Show, with Colonel Ray,
    heard in Southern California.

    Please read below:
"We were always playing on the white man's court -- by the white man's rules. If the principal, or the coach, or a teacher wanted to spit in your face, he could, because he had the power and you didn't. The only thing you could choose was withdrawal into a smaller and smaller coil of rage."

Obama once described the white race as ???that ghostly figure that haunted black dreams.???

???That hate hadn't gone away,??? he wrote, blaming ???white people -- some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.???

During college, Obama disapproved of what he called other "half-breeds" who gravitated toward whites instead of blacks. And yet after college, he once fell in love with a white woman, only to push her away when he concluded he would have to assimilate into her world, not the other way around. He later married a black woman.

Obama???s book is primarily about his rejection of his supportive white maternal extended family in favor of his unknown black paternal extended family.

At age 33, he wrote in "Dreams from My Father, that " he found solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against his mother???s race.

Obama vowed that he would "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father???s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I???d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

In his memoir, "Dreams of My Father," Obama writes of a story in Life magazine that influenced him -- about a black man trying to bleach his skin white. No such article could be found in Life or Ebony.

Defeater in Chief for the Democrats??? Hillary and Bill are scrwing Democrats up. Why are they dividing and tearing their own party apart??

Comment: Micromanagers die quickly in our line of work, and if you have the lack of respect to allow those under you to shine forth with their expertise while not having enough of your own, you'd better hold all the spades in the Character department to ensure your team's success until you can get up to speed on knowledge.

Character is built upon the bedrock values of Honor and Integrity. Honor is showing others the respect they are due, even when they are disrespectful to you. Integrity is doing the right thing, in the right place, at the right time, regardless who's watching.

Partisan politics aside, military members don't really have cameras in their faces to get their views out, since MSM has been ordered to refocus/ divert the masses' collective attention. (See, the war over here has taken the back seat to the more pressing issues of Britney, Lindsay, OJ, et. al.) We have our duties, and then we have our families to consider. We try to ensure both are covered, but we sure could use the help of our fellow Americans to really investigate the candidates and ensure we get the right mix of person who is going to be smart on both the foreign policy and domestic policy portions of the Office.

Even though we are serving a world away and at times it seems our interests have taken the backseat until it is politically convenient to drag out the troops as a backdrop for a speech or a point of pity for a sound-bite, we trust you all to lay aside the polls, group-think, tradition, and whatever else may be binding your individual and collective minds to carry our voice forward. Measure Experience by the points I've made, and judge the candidates, all the candidates, evenly and not with clouded hearts. Your Soldiers are counting on you the way you depend on us to keep you free and without concern for your safety so you can have genuine debates and free thoughts. Don't waste the time or the chance to make us the great country your Servicemembers are fighting for???

Comment: The fact that Bill Clinton can look a reporter in the eye and say "Shame on you" is utterly astounding. This is the same Bill Clinton who lied to Congress, has been dis-barred, and received sexual favors from young girls in the White House while on the job! The gall and shamelessness are truly amazing! The Clintons truly raise straight faced lying to an art form!

Comment: I think Hillary Clinton is the most knowledgeable and experienced person to be president. She is the most likely to win come November and the most likely to be able to take on the job of being president from Day One! Obama does not seem up to the task of being president. Hillary has a more detailed plan and a better understanding of the complex issues that we face. I also do not like the way Obama has used the issue of race to stir up emotions and cause a division in the Democratic party. To say that Hillary said something racist is totally off the mark and very mean spirited! The Clintons have a history of standing up for civil rights. We should not allow issues of race or gender to divide us! We should also not vote someone because of their race or gender. I support Hillary because she is smart and experienced, not simply because she is a woman. That is true equality electing someone based on their merits! I hope that America can finally evolve to that point where we judge people based on their merits!
    VOTE Hillary!!!

Comment: I would like to point out that there is not one issue that either Obama or Clinton have brought to the agenda that John Edwrads has not already adressed at length in a downloadable book on his website. You wanyt to know how someone stands lon the issues ask them to put it in writing. I am amazed how time and time again we allow the media to dictate our elections. John Edwrads is a true candidate with honest intentions of saving America's middle class. I personally refuse to elect to Washinton one more person with ties to special interest groups I want a president who is there to work for me not the corporations. Take a look at how much money each candidate has gotten from different groups. John Edwards NONE! He has refused to take it not just this year but during his entire political career. Meanwhile Obama and Clinton continue to talk about taking on drug companies and insurance companies all the while taking their donations. I want a president who will work for me not the corporations.

Comment: Unfortunately the "swift boat" people have already raised over 100 million to run ads over and over again about Obama's self-admitted drug use. It is very unfortunate, and in the context of his book the youthfull brush with drug use and the subsequent going on to make something worthwhile of his life are a powerful statement of ones ability to rise above a mistake, but the 30 second spots we will hear twenty times a day will be overwhelming.

Comment: Brave. The fact check series deserves kudos. I wish that Newsweek had instituted this before the War in Iraq. Recently, eartlink.net published an article on a study conducted by Center for Public Integrity.
This organization ???counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.???

A fact check in 2003 might have prevented the war. I hope Newsweek keeps this feature up.

Comment: Obama is the whitest black man ever. That is why he is so confused about race issues. And that is why we do not really get a good picture of who he is as a man. All we see, is someone who points the finger at someone else, or quotes someone else, talks about what others have done....etc.
He would get more support if he was comfortable in his own skin (ie. true to himself) and not trying to be a white president.

Comment: I won't vote for Obama if he is the nominee as I do not trust or like him. He never says anything that gives specifics andif he doesn't like a question or statement that is directed at him, he lashes out and falls back on what the Clinton's did or did not do. He reminds me of G. W. Bush and we have had enough of him and his like to last a lifetime!

Comment: To those who have received and believe racist/religious errors about Sen. Obama:
TRUTH: Barack Obama is a committed and active Christian. He has been a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago for 20 years, where he continues to attend services with his family. Barack has never been a Muslim or practiced any other faith besides Christianity.
LIE: ???He is quick to point out that, 'He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.'???
TRUTH: Sen. Obama did not say this nor was he ever a Muslim.
LIE: ???Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical.???
TRUTH: Sen. Obama is a Centrist which is why he has the ability to work so well with bipartisan groups.
LIE: ??? Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. He went to a XXXX Muslim school there.???
TRUTH: Sen.Obama lived in Indonesia for a few years; he did not attend a Muslim school while there.
LIE: ???Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.???
TRUTH: Sen Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ when he got the call from God to do so over 20 years ago. He was then working in Chicago with Christian church groups. Trinity United Church of Christ is the largest congregation in the United Church of Christ. It is part of a liberal denomination that was the first to ordain an African American, a woman, and a gay man. Congregants have described it in the New York Times as a "warm and accepting community," and while it is a predominantly African American congregation, people of all backgrounds are enthusiastically welcomed.
LIE: ???. . . keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.???
TRUTH: In January 2005, Sen. Obama was sworn into the U.S. Senate on his family Bible.
LIE: ???Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag.???
TRUTH: Sen. Obama not only recites the Pledge of Allegiance, he often leads the Senate membership in doing so. He has always shown great respect for our American flag.
LIE: ???While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag..??? .
TRUTH: During the Star Spangled Banner, he stood at attention until it was completed. It is not required that anyone hold their hand to their heart. However, many Americans remain sitting while the Star Spangled Banner is playing, including at the July 4th concert in Washington, DC. Even while those of us who are veterans were asked to stand to reveal our service to our country.

Let us all remain alert to those who would use race or religion to besmirch a candidate. A mother, a mature woman, a veteran, a journalist, and Great Generation Gal for Obama for President YES HE CAN

Comment: When Obama first entered the race, I was excited and thought he was refreshing. The more I hear him in interviews and debates, the more I am beginning to tire of him and his rhetoric. There is something about him that I don't trust, and the more he talks, he comes across as wishywashy on the issues and untrustworthy. I'm returning to the Hillary camp.

    Comment: Dear BVS 9940
When you post statements about another person online, you owe it to readers to be truthful and know the facts. Here is the truth about your statements. I hope this will be helpful to those who may foolishly want to negate a candidate based on his religion OR race. Let' s all act as truth squads and not allow anyone touse this site for racial or religious prejudice.
    To quote you:
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim.
TRUTH. HE WAS NEVER A MUSLIM. HIS GRANDFATHER WAS A MUSLIM.. THE GRANDFATHER HE NEVER MET. HE LIVED IN INDONESIA, A MUSLIM COUNTRY. HE ATTENDED CATHOLIC AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHILE THERE.

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical.
TRUTH. HE IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CENTRIST ... A MIDDLE OF THE ROAD DEMOCRAT. THAT IS HOW AND WHY HE HAS BEEN ABLE TO WORK WITH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ALIKE., an ability that our country could use in these dangerous times.

Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.
In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.
sEN. OBAMA SW HIS FATHER ONLY ONCE AFTER HIS FATHER LEFT HIS MOTHER WHEN THE SENATOR WAS TWO YEARS OLD. OBAMA SAW HIS FATHER ONE TIME AFTER THAT WHEN HE RETURNED TO AMERICA WHILE HE WAS ILL AND SOON TO DIE.

ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. HE USED HIS FAMILY BIBLE IN HIS SWEARING CEREMONY.

Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag.
While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
SEN OBAMA NOT ONLY RECITES THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, HE ALSO LEADS THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IN THE SENATE AT TIMES. AS FOR USING THE KORAN, GET REAL. DO YOU THINK ANY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE WOULD PERMIT THAT? GOOD LORD, YOU ARE DESPERATE!
LET US ALL INVESTIGATE TRUTH WHEN WE HEAR UGLY ACCUSATIONS THROWN AT A CANDIDATE WHO HAS EARNED HIS RIGHT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT. WE HAVE HAD AN ADMINISTRATION THAT GAVE PINNOCHIO COMPETITION; WE NEED TO BE THIRSY FOR TRUTH?

As for Indonesian influence on Obama, bah humbug. One Great Generation gal for Obama. YES HE CAN.

Comment: Dear Readers. I am a recently retired journalism whose beat has been government: city, county, regional and national. I worked and lived in DC for over 13 years and yes, interviewed quite a few highly placed political figures. That said, I will add that I will vote for Sen. Obama for many reasons. Some are political -- I honestly believe he will be the best president for my precious country at this juncture in our history. However, also feel he is the man with the most integrity running in the Democratic party, and I trust that he will keep as many of his promises as he can if given the Congressoinal support and our citizens' support.
I am horrified at how transparent Mr. and Sen. Clinton are being in their same ole, same ole malevelent campaign against their fellow American. I find their actions cowardly and dishonest.
But I do wonder at the press' coverage of them. There is an important fact or two missing from the reports about Sen. Clinton's involvment with WalMart. I am stunned that noone has mentioned that Walmart was presented with a class action suit placed by groups of his female employees -- for sex discrimination. That doesn't make Mrs. Clinton a poster child for women, IMHO. Also, WalMart has destroyed the economy of many a small town, putting most of the smaller stores out of business. And making it necessary for folks to work there or nowhere. And they pay very very low wages. In addition, WalMart is called the Sino company in the Wall Street Journal because they import more Chinese goods than any other company in America. That has helped to wipe out entire industries in our country. Check out textiles, for ihstance.
Again, it is the evil Twin's lack of respect for me and all American citizens that I find most repulsive about the current 'two for one" game. All Americans have a right to expect to learn from debates about issues and to get help knowing which approach will be most productive to our country and the middle class and poor.
The twins are just deflecting Sen. Obama's opportunity to explain his plans should he become president.
Same ole, same ole. Let me share this with you; dirty politicians are experts at weasel words, at slippery tlak and at saying a lot without saying what one needs to know. Check out Obamafor President.org. for fact checking. Thanks for reading this. One of the Great Generation for Obama

Same ole, same ole. Let me share this with you; dirty politicians are experts at weasel words, at slippery tlak and at saying a lot without saying what one needs to know. Check out Obamafor President.org. for fact checking. Thanks for reading this. One of the Great Generation for Obama

That kind of woman likes to provoke man and keep insisting. Later on complain she was raped.
IT IS A LIE! What can a woman be doing in a hotel room by herself with a man?

Rape is when some one gets you in the desert, on the forest in a dark street.
Lets think for a moment if she was raped in a hotel room, then it means that the
Ex-president force the locker door to come in to the room?
Make a more CREATEIBLE story. In case that happened which I have DOUBTS of it, SHE WAS DYING TO RAPE HIM.
SHE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO LOSE; IN THE CONTRARY SHE WILL SHOW SHE WAS VICTIM.
THIS KIND OF WOMEN, ARE WAY LESS THAN A SNAKE.

Use your time to educate and respect others.

RESPECT FOR Mr. And Ms. Clinton.
If you have just little of intelligence will see that this is a Republican trick to win The White House again.
Former President Bill Clinton was FRAMED, YES!
It was convenient to fine his weakness and put a stone in his way to make him fail.

RESPECT FOR SOME ONE THAT WORK SO HARD TO MAKE AMERICA BETER PLACE TO LIVE.
Mrs. Clinton is the strongest candidate to compete with any Republican.
I respect Obama, but he is not ready to stand for our country jet.
In a few years maybe he will my vote.
It does not have to do with Black or White; it has to be about experience. On the other hand woman should stand for woman. This is the only opportunity that we probably have for decades to make women strong on the political field.

Comment: Why do these candidates, with resources to get it right, misrepresent their Democratic Party's fellow candidates. Are they so eager to destroy the other that they don't use their resources to assure accuracy? That is ugly, to say the least. The arrogance of power, and literally fighting for top position, draws out the ugly side of otherwise decent people. Is there not a candidate willing to give the benefit of respect to other candidates, willing to assure accuracy in representing the other candidates, and willing to simply argue why their own position is best for our country?

Comment: CLINTON, ANGER AND A QUESTION OF RAPE

What has gotten into Bill Clinton, he of red-faced outbursts of anger, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson asked Tuesday.
Katha Pollitt of the liberal Nation Magazine, an unlikely ally of Hillary's "vast rightwing conspiracy" already gave one answer (http://www.thenation.com/doc/19990322/pollitt ):
"We will never know the truth behind Juanita Broaddrick's claim that Bill Clinton raped her in a Little Rock hotel room in l978. The most you can say about it, which is also the least you can say about it, is that her story is credible ... investigations by NBC News and reporting from the Washington Post poked no major holes in it.
"She has as much corroboration as Anita Hill--friends who say she told them about the assault at the time, one of whom says she saw her immediately after with a bruised and swollen lip. ... the best Clinton's defenders can come up with is that rape doesn't fit his 'MO'--as if, after all the backing and filling and prevaricating and outright lying, we know what this man's MO really is."
More recently Christopher Hitchens, also of the independent left, has written
    (http://www.slate.com/id/2182065 ):
"In my opinion, Gennifer Flowers was telling the truth; so was Monica Lewinsky, and so was Kathleen Willey, and so, lest we forget, was Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who says she was raped by Bill Clinton.... Yet one constantly reads that both Clintons, including the female who helped intensify the slanders against her mistreated sisters, are excellent on women's "issues."
Then there was one of the original Washington Post stories, "Clinton Accuser's Story Aired"
(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics... ), that was very sympathetic to Ms. Broaddrick:
"Juanita Broaddrick told her story to a national television audience last night, saying she did not tell authorities 21 years ago of her contention that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her because 'I just don't think anyone would have believed me.'
"In a gripping account punctuated by sobs, the Arkansas woman told "Dateline NBC" that in her Little Rock hotel room, Clinton suddenly 'turned me around and started kissing me, and that was a real shock. I first pushed him away. I just told him 'no.'... He tries to kiss me again. He starts biting on my lip.... And then he forced me down on the bed. I just was very frightened. I tried to get away from him. I told him 'no.'... He wouldn't listen to me.'
Yet today, somehow, the media is more interested in covering the presidential "horse race" than looking at hard truths while professional "women's rights activists", lowly whistle and look past the individual carnage and the possibilities for A reprise of Oval Office embarrassment.

O.k., I will take the time to check reality -- and acknowledge openly that without hope in ourselves very little will get better. Without hope, very little will change. We can continue to fight, to divide, and mumble against our government. Or we can replace our fears with hope in the American people, and work together with Senator Obama to create a better future for ourselves and all Americans. It's been done before -- let us do it again.

Comment: All you Obama supporters are so desperate for a generation defining ticket that you can't see which one of these candidates will clearly lead to change. All of your inadequacy complexes has clouded your judgment into believing that the younger, less experienced candidate can get the job done. Unfortunately, this rational is precisely why most gen Ys can't get that promotion at work - inexperienced and logically flawed. Dust off those oft-not opened history books and read about terms like - budget surplus, diplomatic foreign policy, low unemployment rates. People, this isn't like chosing the next American Idol.

Your argument is so out of whack I don't even want to address it except to say that I'm older than you think, probably older than you. I have received more promotions at work than anyone else who has ever had this position, and if you want to get to work on logic.... well... nevermind... I'm not sure how you think your statement in any way represents the thoughts of a rational or logical mind. A generation defining ticket?! Please... The only thing I want is a leader with integrity. I want someone who does believe that energy and enthusiasm is a vital component to bringing about change. Your asinine comments do fit in well with the status quo though, so congrats on that, I guess...

Who in there right mind would believe anything any political candidate spews? It's part of the process, and Obama is simply feeding you what your kind wants to hear. Throw everything that you hear and feel from these candidates out the window, and simply look at who clearly, logically, practically will get things done. If I mix in a few words like integrity, hope, change, and follow it up with some exclamation points to project energy and enthusiam, will you believe me?

You were just being expedient before, I suppose. At least you cut your bigotry by half. Or did you double it? Gee golly, I just can't tell because I'm feeling so emotional right now. Let me ask you... Have YOU looked into the ACTUAL records of the canditates? I'm not talking about what you've seen on Fox, or CNN, or even on their websites. And God, I really hope you're not getting your information from partisan blogs!
It is incumbent upon us as voters to look into the ACTUAL record, by the way... It's more to show the point that you're painting with an awfully wide brush to think I would not have, actually. It's important to get things done. It's also important to restore just the tiniest bit of trust back into government in order to combat the rampant cynicism that dominates the entire scene today. A need which is so LOUDLY proven by your own comments. If I can choose between two people whose policies are relatively similar, but one will lie at the drop of a hat and divide the country bitterly and the other is fighting for honesty, why should I not choose to align with just the tiniest bit of morality? Or are morals too emotional? And finally, though not nearly as important as combating cynicism and bigotry... Spell/grammar check is your friend. Get to know it.

I've actually lived through it all and can recall without resorting to the tainted news organizationsl. Just because he says he will restore trust and not lie doesn't mean he will. You mean to tell me you absolute believe he's not lying about anything? Let's not be gullible Moreover, it seems like it's actually the cynical people that are drawn to Obama, cynical about the process. It is what we have for a system, therefore don't be manipulated by magical words. At the end of the day, all cynicism aside, it is the chosen one that must produce when elected, therefore I'd rather put my eggs in the basket of someone with practical experience affecting change. As transcendent as Obama may seem, he's not going to change the system in Washington, so whoever is elected better know how to play the game. Whether we're cynical or not, it is what it is, so we should affect change the way the system permits, and do it masterfully.

How dare some intelligent upstart take away Hillary's pre-ordained inevitable nomination for president.

So she turned on the water works, played the fear card and had her husband distort the record of Obama. The Clintons are playing the same old games the same old politcs that doesn't let anything get done in this country. I think it will be just another 4 years of polarizing politcs if she and he are in the White House again.

As a long time Clinton supporter. This has me turned off. We need to move on from the Bush Clinton Bush dynasties. I intend to fully support Obama and will vote for him in the primary.

She has no major Bills named after her or nothing she has lead has ever become law. Barack has done that with less years in the senate. He has held public office longer than Hillary on his own merits and having a weird name.. I think he needs to focus on his experience that's the main reason I am his supporter.

    * Community Organizer (people to people experience)
    * Civil Right Attorney ( courtroom exp.)
    * Taught the Constititon ( Classroom professor exp.)
    * State Legislation exp. ( State level exp.)
    * U.S. Senator ( National Level Exp.) Has lead and made more changes than HRC

The CLINTONS ARE PHONY its to bad Americans can't read crooked politicians.

Comment: I couldn't possibly be more upset having to say this, but you're right, massiel08. Senator Obama is likely going to lose to the Clinton(s) machine. They are WAY too good at fighting dirty. They put him in a position where he HAD to defend himself against them or he would have been called weak, or worse, people may have believed the mud being thrown at him. BUT-- now that he has done so, they've brought him down to their level. The problem there is, the Clintons are the world heavyweight champions of fighting dirty, so they win in a head-to-head when it's lies vs. defending the truth. Obama's strength, magic, and the reason I believe in him is his message of honesty and empowerment. Now that the Clintons stripped that away from him with their despicable lies and mud-slinging tactics, they will actually win. It is to America's shame that things have happened this way. If Romney wins the nomination for the Republicans, and Billary gets the Dems, I'm going to make a bunch of bumper stickers that say: "Presidential Election 2008--Lie to Us, and We'll Reward You for It."

Comment: Where are the CLINTON SUPPORTERS? I want to know what are your reasons for going to Hillary? Just Curious.....

Comment: I have watched this whole campaign very carefully as, back in the day, I was a political science student, and aside from being just in general disagreeable to me, HRC still would have had my vote all things considered. This is no longer the case. People talk about all the negativity being a factor against Obama while strategically failing to remember who started the whole thing. Having a capacity for remembering things as they truly happened, this revisionist history of the Clinton???s appalls me. Plus, it galls me that the first so called viable woman candidate can't get into the race without her ex-president spouse. It's Bill Clinton that voters for HRC are heavily favoring, not Hillary. I think that if Hillary does get into the White House we will see an amendment against Presidential nepotism--which is what is going on in this election on an unprecedented scale--and Hillary's credibility (at a time when this nation needs a credible leader more than it ever has) will suffer in a significant way. For all of those reasons, the GOP will tear her up if she is the nominee because #1) Bill won't be able to play the same role in the general election that he is playing in the primaries and #2 HRC will get beat by more experienced dirty anti-Clinton fighters. It's really sad because it's the first time (and who knows, maybe the last because it's all gone so badly) that we have had a viable woman AND a viable African American running for president. I don???t know about anyone else but I am tired of this country being such a joke to the world

Comment: Okay, I like to hear Obama speak, I think he's a very refreshing face in the poltcial landscape of today. He's actually what got me intrested in the Dem side of this election, (I'm a Rep, but a VERY liberal one:) but over the last few days he's reminded me more of a whiny 10 year old then a potential prez. I was young during the Clinton years, but i do remember that my mother was a young struggling singel mother and thar Clinton was the one who helped put things together that allowed us to make it. I also remember that the Clintons are a no-holds bar kind of family who have been known to play fast ans loose with the facts. I was 17 in 2000 (which says something about my youth durning Monica-gate) and i know better then to mess with the Clintons. For Obama to get deffensive and complain that he cant tell which Clinton he's running against only makes him sound childish and inempt. Everyone knows (or at least should by this point) that there are not Clintons in the singular; they are THE Clinton and if you're going to take them on you'd better have thick skin, strong staff and a mouth piece!

Comment: Well what exactly are you saying? I would rather vote for a liar than a cry baby? I don't think Obama is crying. I think he is reminding people what the Hill-Billies are like.. Your right....he should say nothing. He should not point out the the Fomer President is, was and always will be a liar. He should be more like them. e should ask his friends to do his dirty work. Maybe he should get his kids involved. Hum.... I think maybe you just don't want to know the truth from Obama. So Here is what he is not saying.
Hillary is no victim. She has chosen right or wrong to stay with a man that stood in front of the American people and lie about an affair with a young white house inter. Bill Clinton was at the time of his affair, Commander and chief of the Military. Under Military law, which he was in-charge of...Any military person who behaved as he did could be tried under military law and be kicked OUT of the military. This was a case of, "I am better than those that serve me" 'I do not follow the same rules as those below me , I am simple better" The affair is forgivable. I personally don't care who or how anybody has sex. I do feel that after he was caught he should have been man enough to stand up and tell the truth or say nothing at all. Hillary has chosen to forgive her husband for his lies. That is great! The American people however should be able to believe that their president is telling the truth. If her husband is willing to lie about something so stupid, that has no impact on the lives of you and I? What elese is he willing to lie about? and more importantly what is Hillary willing to support. Make no mistake, as you say...They are the Clinttons, They are One. She supports him in his antics. I do not. Do not make Obama out as the cry baby for reminding the american people we are dealing with liars!!

Comment: Opps, i forgot. Not defending Bill's behavior but I'm military and I know plenty of married military men who've gotten other married women (as in not their wife) into, um "delicate" situations. The UCMJ is there as are those rules you speak of, but they are not inforced in every situation or on every offender. Generally the higher your rank, the lower your punishment. By military terms, the fact that Bill got off as unscathed as he did isn't totally shocking given his position. Have he been a mess cook on the other hand.....totally different story.

Comment: Sorry, hun. I think i left out a few lines there. What i was trying to express is that of course he should've had his cronies do his dirty work for him! Just kidding, I just wanted a little more grace, shouting at a shouting Clinton not only makes you look like a Clinton. And whiny. The Clintons play so fast and so loose with the facts that any honest person cannot get into a pissing match with them with out running the risk of getting their head knocked back to second grade. She attacks, you whine you cant who you're running against, not a great comback. Thats why you dont fight with the Clintons, let them make asses of themself, keep your hands clean (and those of your advisors and supporters) :)

Comment: Hey Rockione23 I heard you're a tranny...LOL just kidding . It will bother any one when people are teaming up and spreading nonsense about you. (especially and ex president) Politicians should be thicked skin with lobbyist, corporations, terrorists etc but not with each other or the people. This is what years of brainwashing by Karl Rove politics and Clinton machine ways has done to us. If he inspired you or caught your interest Why are you giving up hope? Its not crazy to have a vision and a plan.

Comment: as i said, i'm a republican so I'm 100% NOT voting for Clinton. Being disabled military vet i am EXTREMELY used having to have think skin - especially with my former collegeues and the American people, you wouldn't believe the way some people treat vets or some of the things that have been said to and/or about me; I'm just pointing out that there are better ways to handle it them to lower yourself to their level and that Obama is as niave as the Clintons claim if he truely thought that he was ever running against ONLY Hillary Clinton and that Bill was going to sit home and knit. We need someone that can handle all of the things that will be said about him while he is in office and still give the people
