LinkedIn Outage: Is the Site Down, Login Issues

UPDATE: 2:12 p.m. ET - The @LinkedInHelp account tweeted at 1:50 p.m. ET that the company was aware that some users were experiencing problems with the site and said it was in the process of resolving the issue. The account was also replying to users to reassure them that the company was working on the issue, but gave no reason for the outage or estimate for when it would be fixed.

Users of the professional networking website LinkedIn were experiencing problems with the website on Thursday. The issues began around 1:30 p.m. ET and were persisting through the afternoon.

Users who reported the problems with LinkedIn to the site DownDetector were mostly in the United States and Europe, a map on the site showed. They were primarily experiencing issues loading the site in general and also having problems logging into the site, according to the reports

Some people Twitter to check and see if they were the only ones experiencing issues with the professional networking site. 

Some users were specifically experiencing issues with the sales part of the site.

Neither the @LinkedIn nor @LinkedInHelp Twitter accounts tweeted any reason or solution for the outage. 

LinkedIn did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment.
