Newsmakers: Emmitt Smith, Tom Cruise

NFL legend emmitt smith is now a reality-show champ, too. He spoke to Ramin Setoodeh.

Emmitt Smith, you just won "Dancing With the Stars." What are you going to do next? I'm not going to Disneyland. I don't think I'm going to be on the cover of a Wheaties box. What I will do is go back to my real- estate development company. It sounds like you're standing in traffic. I've been traveling all night. I got to New York this morning and I'm now waiting on a car to take me to the "Rachael Ray" show. You cook? A little bit. I make my kids pancakes. From scratch? Somewhat. Who's got better dance moves: you or Jerry Rice? I'd like to think that I do. I won the championship, right? I got some calluses on my toes, achy feet and a trophy. Adisco balltrophy. Where is it? My wife has it. It's probably on its way to Dallas right now. We're going to put it on the fireplace mantel. Your partner, Cheryl, is sexy. Cheryl is a sexy lady, but she's also a smart young lady. I knew that Mario [Lopez] and Joey [Lawrence] were high, in terms of dancing. I focused on learning what I needed to learn from her. Whose idea was it to wear the green sequins? Cheryl wanted to wear green. So I tried to coordinate my outfit. I may put it up for a charitable auction. I wasn't sure you could pull off the win, especially since Mario Lopez kept showing his arms. He's got the guns to show, let him show them. I wasn't concerned about that man's arms.

Mazel Tom! On saturday, Katie Holmes, 27, officially landed the starring role once played by fellow actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman: Mrs. Tom Cruise. A slew of boldface names--Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Brooke Shields and Victoria Beckham--joined TomKat and baby Suri for a storybook wedding held in a medieval castle near Rome. With such lovely touches as lit candles atop the Italian fortress, one could almost mistake the wedding for a period piece, were it not for the satellite trucks and police snipers. No word on whether any couches were harmed during the ceremony.
