National School Walkout
“We are a society of rules,” a school board member said when asked about punishments for students who participated in the school walkout to protest gun violence.
“Everybody kind of freaked out. It was scary. He brought a weapon to school, and it shocked everyone. No one knew who he was.”
A parent revealed that her child and two others were paddled by their “rural, very conservative, public school.”
Student who were given detention planned to wear signs with the names of the victims of February's mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.
"I hope it's a trap and y'all get shot we know it's fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway."
The shots were first reported at about 2:20 p.m. local time.
