The next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor has been revealed, and the automaker's CEO, Jim Farley, has confirmed that the model will make it to American shores.

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is designed for off-road enthusiasts, much like its big brother the Ford F-150 Raptor and cousin the freshly-revealed Ford Bronco Raptor.

This Ranger Raptor is a product of a new generation of Ranger. The current U.S. model is a generation behind, but is set to match up with the global version of the truck soon.

Like other Raptor family members, the Ranger Raptor wears unique fascia that sets it apart. it gets Matrix LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. Flared fenders accommodate 17-inch wheels (two designs available).

Specific numbers for the U.S. version of the Ranger Raptor truck aren't available yet, but the model is being shown for the international market with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that cranks out 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque in combination with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

It has an electronically-controlled active exhaust system that delivers "mild-to-wide" engine sounds. Quiet, Sport, Normal, and Baja exhaust notes can be chosen via a button on the steering wheel.

Select markets will get a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine.

A high-performance ride and driver experience is thanks to Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shock absorbers. It has a permanent four-wheel drive system and an electronically controlled on-demand two-speed transfer case that works in combinations with front and rear locking differentials.

Drivers can select from Normal, Sport, Slippery, Rock Crawl, Sand, Mud/Ruts, and Baja drive modes. Some are only available off-road. Selecting the Baja drive model initiates the truck's anti-lag system, which keeps the turbochargers spinning longer than is typical allowing for faster acceleration out of corners or between gears.

The truck's chassis has been reinforced to handle more extreme driving and power conditions. Twin rated tow hooks at the front and rear allow for flexible recovery options.

The cabin comes complete with jet fighter-inspired sport seats in the front and rear. Code Orange accents feature on the instrument panel, trim and seats. A leather sport steering wheel with magnesium paddle shifters completes the look.

In front of the driver is an all-digital 12.4-inch gauge cluster that is matched with a 12-inch infotainment touch screen at the center of the dashboard. There's Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity capability and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

U.S. market information on the next-generation Ford Ranger and its Ranger Raptor counterpart are expected in the coming months and years.
