What is Appendiceal Cancer?

As cited on the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) website, appendiceal cancer grows from cells that make up the appendix.

It is a rare form of cancer, with the NCI saying that "it has been thought to affect about 1 or 2 people per 1 million per year."

The appendix, a small pouch of tissue in the abdomen, is part of the intestines and colon, and appendiceal cancer emerges when cells in the appendix mutate and grow out of control. There are two main types of appendiceal cancer: epithelial appendiceal cancer and neuroendocrine appendiceal cancer.

The NCI's website says that it is a cancer that can spread to different parts of the abdomen directly from the appendix. Although less common, appendiceal cancer can also spread through lymph nodes to areas outside the abdomen.

An outpouring of love and support from Canto's colleagues and fans has hit the internet, with many unable to believe that the star has died so young.

FoxTV shared an image of Canto on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption: "He'll always be our Arman. Adan Canto, your memory will be cherished forever. We grieve alongside Adan's family, friends, and fans."

Canto appeared in two seasons of The Cleaning Lady, which was produced by Fox, as Arman Morales.
