Amber Alert Washington, D.C.: Child Abducted at Reagan Airport

An Amber Alert was issued on Thursday after a child was believed to have been abducted from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The Amber Alert was issued for JinJing Ma, 12.

JinJing was described as being 4 feet, 11 inches tall and 90 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black jacket. She is believed to have been taken by an unidentified 40-year-old woman, the Amber Alert said.

JinJing is believed to be in "extreme danger." She was last seen leaving the airport.

"[JinJing] was in America from China on a tour group," the Amber Alert said. "She received her passport just prior to checking in and left her group. She met up with an unknown middle age[d] Asian female, who assisted her in changing clothes. They then walked together to the arrivals area of the airport and disappeared out of camera view. Witness stated he may have seen same woman in NYC meet up with victim and hand her food."

A photo captured from surveillance footage showed the woman believed to have taken JinJing, wearing a dress and black shoes.

Amber Alerts are issued in order to activate urgent bulletins regarding missing children in the most serious cases. The goal of such an alert is to immediately inform the surrounding communities, to enable people to assist in the search for and safe recovery of a child, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
