Dog's 'Dramatic' Reaction to Thinking Owner Went on Walk Without Him

A dog described as "dramatic" has been caught on camera having a tantrum in a video that has attracted more than 2.1 million views.

In the TikTok footage, Odin the 10 month old American Bully can be seen on camera, standing up against a fence in the yard, whining and huffing.

The text reads, "I went to grab the garbage cans and he thought I went on a walk without him," while the caption states, "Soo dramatic."

Odin's owner Hannah, a social worker from Pennsylvania, told Newsweek: "He can be rather dramatic. Bully breeds wear their hearts on their sleeves so some would say they are very dramatic. This was the first time I have ever heard him howl! He is a big goofy boy! He loves to cuddle and despite his intimidating appearance, he loves everyone."

Neither The Kennel Club nor American Kennel Club have recognized or accepted the American Bully into their registry as a purebred dog.

There is a certain amount of controversy surrounding the breed, as their popularity in recent years has led to a lot of irresponsible breeding.

The American Bully breed was officially recognized by the United Kennel Club in 2013. The UKC report that the American Bully breed "developed as a natural extension of the American Pit Bull Terrier", with influences from several other breeds including the American Bulldog and the English Bulldog.

They report that "The American Bully breed is recognizable by its characteristic compact, strong, thick-set structure and build. Their appearance reflects a strong American Pit Bull Terrier foundation, blended with stock from other bull breeds. The overall balance and correct proportions of an athlete are essential, and absolute soundness and proper muscle tone is a must. Head properties are in proportion to the body, reasonable, and free of exaggeration so as to not compromise breathing and/or obstruct normal vision. It is a smooth coated dog that possesses great strength for its size. Although quite muscular, it is active and agile. Its presence is a picture of tremendous power and stamina that belies its kind and loyal temperament."

Despite their strength and appearance, the UKC report that the American Bully is bred first and foremost as "a companion, exhibiting confidence with a zest and exuberance for life. Despite its powerful appearance, their demeanor is gentle and friendly. This breed makes an excellent family dog. The ideal American Bully possesses the athleticism to do well in performance events. Aggressive behavior towards humans is uncharacteristic of the breed, and highly undesirable."

They report that any irresponsible breeding that would lead a dog to have disproportionate, overdone features "that would interfere with physical activity or working ability" would disqualify the dog from obtaining awards in an event.

Users on TikTok loved Odin the dog's drama, with one commenting, "Why are these dogs such drama queens."

Cerberus wrote, "my dog screams if I go out the door without her," while another user commented on "the betrayal in his howl."
