'Anthem' Servers Down, Not Working? Early Access Broken For Origin Subscribers

With significant anticipation, gamers paid for early access to play the new title Anthem a week early, However, for those who tried accessing the servers to play the game today, they were unable to start.

The servers for Anthem early access were supposed to live at 10 a.m. today, outage tracking website Down Detector says the first Anthem outage reports came in at 10:02 a.m. EST.

Anthem doesn't officially release worldwide until next week but those who paid for early access were able to play the game a week early.

"Hello, Freelancers! We understand some of you are having issues connecting to #AnthemGame servers right now and we're working to address it as fast as we can," EA said. "Please hang with us and try again in a few minutes."

Some gamers were quick to pounce on EA for screwing up the rollout of a new game, saying online play for FIFA, Battlefied and other games regularly fails.

"shouldn't we use more and more stable servers this time? nah! it'll be fine," Down Detector user MrJackWorse wrote. "but sir, the last major launches went...i said it'll be fine!"

"I'd really like to say positive things about #anthem but EA is making it pretty hard," Twitter user Jake Nelson tweeted. "Can premier players expect the servers to go down on the full launch as well?"

Others were a little more understanding, saying it's the first day so everyone needs to be patient.

"You people need to chill, EA's servers aren't the strongest and this load of people trying to connect at once at servers that are just starting probably doesnt help," a Down Detector user said. "Give it a few mins and hour at most."
