Antimasker Won't Put Hers On So an Entire Flight Was Almost Deplaned

A new viral video shows a woman refusing to wear her mask on a flight, almost leading to the whole flight getting deplaned.

A TikTok user captured the disputes between the anti-masker and other passengers on a Delta flight to Atlanta on Monday. As the woman who refused to wear her mask pulled her carry-on out of the overhead bin, other passengers glared and called out in frustration.

The woman who took the video said that the antimasker stirred problems before even boarding the flight. "Before we even got on the plane she was stopped and asked to wear a mask onto the plane, she proceeded to show the person checking her in a note on her phone from a 'doctor' and they wouldn't accept it so she was placed aside and then I saw her board the plane wearing a mask," she wrote in a message to Newsweek.

While the woman grabbed her bag, the flight attendant informed passengers of the travel nightmare. "Good morning ladies and gentlemen, we do apologize for the inconvenience. We're gonna have to deplane the entire aircraft and then re-board. Once again we do apologize for the inconvenience this morning. We ask that everybody please take their belongings. We're gonna have to de-plane the entire aircraft this morning," the attendant said.

As other people prepared to get off the plane, the woman rolled her bag down the aisle and asked everyone to let her off the plane, as people yelled things like "Stupid a**" at her.

The woman who posted the video said that about half the plane got off before the woman said that she would de-board and let everyone else stay. "They kicked her off and let the rest of the plane back on (the back of the plane hadn't de boarded yet only front) and the environment it was pretty hostile when everyone was trying to get her to put her mask on lol everyone was yelling and saying they just wanted to go home and to put the damn mask on and she wouldn't," she wrote.

To add insult to injury, the woman had a mask dangling in her hand. A number of commenters asked the obvious question: how come she wouldn't just put it on in the first place. One commenter wrote: "I don't understand why she can't just put it on. She looked upset and embarrassed to get off the plane so why not just wear the mask?"

Fortunately, it doesn't seem like the flight was actually deplaned. "They were gonna make the entire plane get off because of her and then she ended up being kicked off," the person who posted the video wrote in the description for the original video.

In an earlier video, the TikTok user captured some of the earlier disputes between the woman and the other passengers. The woman who refused to wear her mask seemingly said that the mask made it harder for her to breathe. "We're trying to go home. Nobody give a f**k about your breathing at this point. Put the s**t on or get the f**k off this plane," one person shouted.

In a final video, the TikTok user wrote that the antimasker was booted from the flight. "COVID is real y'all don't be disrespectful," the user wrote.

She said that after the woman got off the plane it was smooth sailing. "Once she left everyone was totally fine and glad she was gone," she wrote.

The video of the woman trying to leave the flight as the attendant announced that the flight would be deplaned has been viewed over a million times on TikTok.

In a statement, Delta reiterated its mask policy. "Part of every customer's commitment prior to traveling on Delta is the requirement to acknowledge our updated travel policies, which includes wearing a mask. Failure to comply with our mask-wearing mandate can result in losing the ability to fly Delta in the future," a Delta spokesperson said.
