'Apex Legends' Leak May Reveal Season 4 Characters Forge & Conduit With Abilities

Apex Legends Season 4 is still likely a few weeks away from its official reveal, but new leaks from the game's recent 1.23 patch may reveal two new characters to be featured in the next Battle Pass. While lots of possible names have surfaced in datamines over the past few weeks, the most recent suspects include two Legends named Forge and Conduit.

Forge, known internally as the "augmented brawler," is a melee-focused character with a presumably hulking physique. While a full design for the Legend hasn't been revealed, here's what he might look like according to in-game icons. We also know a little bit about the character's abilities as well.

  • Pull Shot: Short-range grapple that pulls enemies into you or can be used to launch yourself into the air.
  • Ground Slam: Press crouch while airborne to slam into the ground below.
  • K.O. Punch: Jump forward in a direction. Press crouch while airborne to slam into the ground below.
  • One-Two: Bull rush in a straight line. If you hit an enemy along the way, press again to do an upper-cut launching you into the air.
  • One The Ropes: Enhances your melee to do more damage the lower your health is. Dealing melee damage gives you temporary overshield.
  • Victory Rush: Killing a player with a melee attack restores your health and gives you a 30 percent speed boost for 10 seconds

Characters in Apex Legends generally only feature three abilities, so, if Forge is expected to debut sometime during Season 4, we imagine three options will be selected from this list of six for the final incarnation. Slots have also been added to Forge's files for the following: four Legendary Skins, five Common Gladiator Cards, five Rare Gladiator Cards, five Legendary Gladiator Cards, as well as one Common stance, kill quip and intro quip. Given how these accessory slots have started populating, many fans believe there may be more to Forge than some of the other leaks.

The mystery compounded Saturday morning when EA Community Manager Ben Walke replied to Forge leak reports, saying "I have questions." While Walke mostly works alongside DICE in managing Star Wars Battlefront II, he's also been actively promoting the next game from Apex Legends' Respawn developers, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. His brief commentary may mean nothing, but it's nonetheless interesting to see an EA insider speak up about this particular piece of speculation.

Who is Conduit in Apex Legends

Alongside mentions of Forge, the narrative surrounding Conduit also expanded with the November 5 patch. Designs for the character have yet to surface in this case, but here's a brief sneak peek at their possible abilities.

  • Tactical: Arc Flash: Deals damage to Conduit's shields to give targeted allies an overshield.
  • Ultimate: Short Circuit: Conduit channels their shields into a giant arc ball that flies across the battlefield, stealing shields from enemies.
  • Passive: Capacitance: Conduit's base health is 50 health and 50 shield, instead of 100 health. Conduit gradually regenerates shield over time.

With that in mind, Conduit appears to be a character based entirely on overshield manipulation. That's all well and good, but, as of right now, Apex doesn't feature any sort of additional armor or overshield system at all. Players can loot Body Shields for a similar effect, but a character's health doesn't traditionally have extra augmentations. An overshield may be exclusive to Conduit or an upcoming feature for all players. Some fans feel Conduit may be an updated name for Reckoner, which showed up in datamines over recent weeks

It's not known when, or even if, Conduit and Forge will make their way to Apex Legends, but considering Forge is listed as part of "Season4Chars" it's imagined that he could be one of multiple Legends to make their debut in the next Battle Pass. It seems likely that Conduit would join him, but, given how many other names dataminers have spotted, there may be other options left to consider.

Apex Legends is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
