'Apex Legends' Season 6 Leaks Reveal Rampart & Nova - Abilities & More

Apex Legends Season 5 isn't anticipated to end until early or mid-August, but fans have already begun speculating about what to expect from the character featured during Season 6. Leaks from prominent dataminers suggest a bit of an internal struggle between two new faces called Rampart and Nova. Given recent developments, here's everything we know about both Legends and their abilities:

Most Season 6 Apex leaks are based on this image that recently resurfaced on the ApexUncovered subreddit. Even though the source file is believed to be about a year old, much of its contents have come true. We've seen the debuts of Crypto, Revenant and Loba, which means Rampart and Valk could be next.

Rampart & Her Abilities

With the above leak in mind, most datamines suggest Rampart will be an engineer-like character, based on evidence that she'll have the ability to fix things. Recently mined animation strings, for example, suggest Rampart will be able to repair Lifeline's Drone and Octane's Legs. Features like these would previously only last for a short time before being taken out of commission, but maybe Rampart can bring them back.

There continues to be references to some sort of turret ability as well, which some fans believe may have been first seen alongside the Season 5 gameplay trailer on May 8. Verified leaker Shrugtal notes that Rampart's assets have filled out massively since Apex's last major update on Tuesday, which seems like a strong indicator the character is being worked on at Respawn. It's noted that, of the two possible Legends, Rampart appears to be the most feature complete.

Her potential abilities are listed below.

  • Amped Cover [Tactical]:Build cover with an upper barrier that blocks incoming shots and boosts the damage of outgoing shots.
  • Emplaced HMG [Ultimate]: Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time.
  • Fixer: Swapping to melee equips a wrench players can use to repair structures.
  • Cover Fire:Firing from the Amped Cover overcharges your weapon damage.
  • Gunner: Machine guns have increased magazine capacity and reload faster. Of the three possible passives, this one sounds like the most logical choice.

While it was originally believed that Rampart would be a male Legend, evidence has surfaced that this image once believed to be Nova might actually be Rampart. Given the impending arrival of sprays and assets for paintball splatter, it's thought that Rampart may have a rebellious and artsy personality. If you look closely, you might also see the Bindi on the character's forehead, suggesting she could be of Indian descent. Central to the nation's culture is Holi, the festival of color. As of now, Rampart looks primed to be the Season 6 Legend even if she ends up officially going by another name.

Nova & Their Abilities

The main roadblock standing in the way of that assumption is the sudden emergence of Nova, who also seems to be getting quite a few new assets in their name as well. The Valk name listed in the image above has apparently been completely removed and replaced by Nova. If their abilities mirror Valks, it's believed that Nova will be a character based on flight. Below is a recap of the character's presumed abilities.

  • Afterburners: Valk and her teammates skydive faster after the initial drop.
  • VTOL Jets: Hold a button to hover.
  • Skyward [Ultimate]: Valk and nearby allies take to the skies after a short countdown.

In other words, it sounds like Valk, or Nova, could offer some kind of instant redeploy mechanic under certain circumstances.

That's all we know about Nova and Rampart for now, but we'll likely learn more about at least one of these characters as we inch toward the launch of Apex Legends Season 6. Despite the evidence embedded above, it's possible Apex's developers at Respawn may have some tricks up their sleeves as well. Most fans were shocked by how they quickly disposed of Forge, so it goes without saying that anything is possible when it comes to how Nova or Rampart may be revealed.
