According to a recent tweet from the game's developers at Respawn Entertainmet, Apex Legends Season 6 will begin at 1 a.m. EDT August 18. At the start of Season 6, Apex Legends players will be prompted to download a new patch containing all its highlight features. It will presumably be labeled as version 1.43 on PS4. Just download the data, and you can start exploring everything Season 6 has to offer.

What to expect from Apex Legends Season 6

Earlier this month, Respawn revealed quite a few details about Apex Legends Season 6 including its hallmark Legend, new features and new weapon. We'll offer that info and more below.

  • New Legend - Rampart: Rampart is a new hero hailing from India that's focused on mechanics and heavy artillery. Her abilities include deployable cover, a mounted turret and increased SMG damage. Learn more about Rampart in our dedicated abilities article.
  • Crafting: Also new to the game is a crafting mechanic. Players will be able to find crafting supplies on the map and use them to augment the weapons already in their inventories.
  • Volt SMG: Speaking of weapons, the Volt SMG is finally ready to make its debut in an official capacity. It fires blue tracers and prioritizes accuracy and range over fire rate and time to kill. The gun is also effective for hipfire as well.
  • Ranked Season 6: A new season of Ranked is set to begin with all-new splits.
  • A Boosted Battle Pass: The new Battle Pass features more than 100 exclusive items including Skins, Apex Packs and Holo-Sprays. Yes, Sprays are finally coming to Apex.
  • World's Edge Revamp: The train has stopped, and there are new POIs to interact with in this changed version of World's Edge. It's no substitute for the Olympus map many fans were hoping for, but it will have to do for now.

That's all we know about Apex Legends Season 6 so far. We'll reveal the rest when the update goes live August 18.
