'ARK' Winter Wonderland Guide: GachaClaus, RaptorClaus, Chibis & More Explained

ARK: Survival Evolved update 2.11 kicked off Winter Wonderland 4, which runs on all maps through January 7. Want to know how to make the most of RaptorClaus and GachaClaus while collecting every possible Chibi? This guide has you covered.

Locating RaptorClaus & GachaClaus

RaptorClaus and GachaClaus are the stars of Winter Wonderland, and only one of them is easy to find. While the Santa-hat-wearing GachaClaus can be seen just about everywhere on any map, RaptorClaus is a little trickier.

To find a RaptorClaus, players must wait till the in-game day-night clock strikes midnight. This can be checked by pressing H on PC or by going into the server's pause menu on console. While you're waiting for that time to arrive, it's best to make sure you've got a good flyer or fast land Dino at your disposal. Once the gifts start dropping, you'll have to make your way to them quickly.

Eventually you'll see the RaptorClaus make its way across the sky in its sleigh. Along its path, the creature drops glowing packages that look like this. Open them up and you'll typically find a Chibi, some high-value loot and a small purse of Coal and Mistletoe. Unfortunately Chibis can duplicate, so collecting them all without cheats will take some time.

What to do with GachaClaus

Once you've collected all the Mistletoe and Coal you want, your next step is to find a GachaClaus, which is a very common spawn across all maps at several locations. If you're having trouble finding one, try the high-traffic areas around the beach.

The GachaClaus is a docile creature, so don't worry about approaching one. Simply place a Mistletoe or lump of Coal in his inventory, and he'll sit down and spawn a free gift in a matter of seconds. Generally just one Mistletoe will do, but you might need as many as 10 pieces of Coal to have an effect. Much like the gifts of RaptorClaus, GachaClaus will offer Chibis, candy and high-level loot.

And, since this is a popular question amongst the ARK faithful, it should be noted that you can not tame or ride the GachaClaus in any way. It's designed to give out gifts to all good little girls and boys, which means you can't distract it from its mission.

What are Chibis?

Chibis are a new addition in Winter Wonderland 4, and they basically act as your pet in battle. Place one in your offhand character slot, and watch it level up as you take down threats in the wild. Keep doing that, and you max level can be pushed up to five additional levels. If your character is at level 130, for example, a maxed-out Chibi will take them to 135.

Winter Wonderland Cheats & Spawn Codes

If everything described above sounds like too much work, you can also obtain all the Winter Wonderland Chibis and cosmetics through spawn code cheats as well. For those who've never used them before, here's a quick recap to get started.

Enter cheats by pressing tab on PC or by using the following console button commands at the start menu. In single-player, the "enablecheats" command must be entered first. Cheats must be enabled by the server admin in multiplayer.
