The January update for Assassin's Creed Odyssey has been revealed, and it includes tons of new quests, items and so much more. Many of these updates will release on January 10 with a new title update, but others will release later in the month.
The biggest additions are new quests for Kassandra or Alexios. The Legacy of the First Blade story continues as the second episode is now available. Shadow Heritage tasks players with investigating a blockade by Achaia. This episode primarily features naval combat, so make sure you have your ship leveled up. To start Episode 2 of The Legacy of the First Blade you need to complete the first episode, complete the Naxos questline in Chapter 7 of the main story, and be at least level 28.
Shadow Heritage is available for everyone starting on January 15.
Three new Lost Tales of Greece are also coming in January. The quest "Daughters of Lalalia" has players looking after a village where all the men have gone off to war. To get started, travel to the Phokis Region after reaching Chapter 5 of the main story path. The first quest is called "A Gathering Storm," and Ubisoft recommends that players are at least level 13.
Another quest called "Poet's Legacy" has players investigating the performances of a famous Greek poet. However, as you would expect, things aren't exactly what they appear to be. To get started, reach Chapter 5 of the main story and make your way to the Boetia region. The first quest is called "Praxilla's Admirer" and has a recommended starting level of at least 34.
Lastly, a new legendary monster has appeared in Greece. The "Bright One," Arges the Cyclops has appeared and is looking to mess things up. Like the other legendary monsters, Arges is an end-game monster. Players should be level 50 before trying to take him down. Those that succeed are rewarded with his rare and powerful Hammer of Hephaistos. You can find Arges on the Volcanic Island in the Angry Caldera of Arges which you can fast travel to with the additional markers added to the map in the 1.1.1 Title Update.
In terms of smaller updates, January will also see the addition of Aya from Assassin's Creed Origins in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. She can be recruited to the Adresta as a Legendary Lieutenant. Three different item packs are also releasing, which include items like gear sets, mounts and more.
A new vendor is coming to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Hephaistos's Workshop can be found in the Myson Cave in the Malis region. Two new tiers of enemies have been added to the Mercenary Ladder and enemy scaling will be customizable. This can make enemies even tougher, or keep them held back a few levels below yours.
More information on the updates will be available when the title update is released on January 10.
