'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' Download Time: When Can You Start Creating Your Own Story in Ancient Greece?

It's just about time to start playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and if you can't wait to start crafting your own tale through Ancient Greece, then you'll want to get your copy downloaded as quickly as possible.

The fastest way to play is to purchase a digital copy on your console or PC and pre-install it. This will unlock your game right when the countdown timer reaches zero. However, that timer is different depending on what platform you're playing on. Unlock times for every platform are as follows:

  • PS4 gamers have the best luck, as Assassin's Creed Odyssey unlocks at 12 a.m. EDT Oct. 5. Those on the west coast can start playing at 9 p.m. PDT Oct. 4.
  • Xbox One owners can start playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey at 12 a.m. local time. Everyone has to wait for midnight on Xbox One.
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey on Uplay unlocks at 12:01 a.m. local time. Guess that extra minute helps.
  • Finally, Assassin's Creed Odyssey unlocks on Steam at 12 p.m. EDT Oct. 5.

A Day One patch has also been confirmed, so be ready to download that as well. It will be around 1.5GB on Xbox One, 1.4GB on PS4 and 1.3GB on PC. The full patch notes are as follows:
