'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' Plot Leak: Rumored PS4 Store Page Listing Reveals Major Details

The main plot of the rumored Assassin's Creed Odyssey may have leaked online, if a screenshot of a PS4 store page is to be believed. This information comes from reddit user Frack-Reynolds.

The leaked PS4 Store plot description, as posted on the Assassin's Creed subreddit Frack-Reynolds

The text reads:

"Take control of your destiny and write your own epic odyssey as you journey to become a legendary Spartan hero. Live incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by your family, you must embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about your past."

Assuming Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a real game Ubisoft will reveal, and assuming this screenshot is real, this is some major information. For starters, it confirms an ancient Greece setting, specifically Sparta. The history of Sparta as a city-state comes to an end around 146 BCE, which is before 49-47 BCE and the events of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. If you're hoping for 300-style Spartans kicking Persians in the chest, that takes us all the way back to 499-449 BCE.

What's really interesting is the choice of words in the description. "Every choice matters" and "write your own epic odyssey" could just be buzzwords, but it also sounds like player choice might make some kind of appearance. Many on the Assassin's Creed subreddit are speculating this could be a shift in the franchise towards a more traditional RPG approach.

Of course, Assassin's Creed Odyssey isn't even confirmed yet, so any additional rumors about the title should be taken with extra grains of salt. While the screenshot certainly looks like it could have been taken from the PSN store, it's also very possible it could have been photoshopped.
