'Bachelorette' Jed's Hometown Girlfriend Reveals What She Really Thinks About Her Ex

It's fairly common on The Bachelorette to discover that a contestant (or two) has a current or very recent relationship back at home. Now, on Hannah B's season, it seems a a fan-favorite contestant could have questionable motives.

Spoilers for The Bachelorette below!

Since learning about Jed's hometown girlfriend, Bachelor Nation seems shaken to the core. Haley Stevens dated Jed right up to him leaving for the show, and appeared for her first on-camera interview Thursday with Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima.

While shocked by Jed's treatment of her after returning from the show–whether he's engaged to Hannah is not confirmed–she went on to say that he's not a "bad person."

"[He told me,] 'I love you, I'm not going to fall for her,'" Stevens said.

"I don't think he is a bad person," Stevens continued. "I don't know what happened there, I don't know if his feelings just changed about me ... I don't think he is a bad person in any of this."

She added: "I never planned to come forward ... I didn't want anything to do with the show ... me coming forward with this story is not in any way negative toward anyone."

"People were saying they were going to tell my story. My story, me, real girl, my real life and I wasn't going to have any control in that," Steven tearfully concluded. "I just didn't seem fair that no one was going to stand up for me."

When asked how she would feel if Jed and Hannah ended up being engaged at this moment, she tearfully said she simply hopes it's "real and it's right."

"This is a person that I love that could just be engaged to someone else, so that's not easy," Stevens said. "If they are, I hope it's real and it's right."

Jed became a frontrunner within the first two weeks of The Bachelorette, but after his first one-on-one date, fans began to wonder whether he came for love or to boost his social media following.

The Nashville-based musician revealed to Hannah that he originally came on the show in an effort to promote his career and had no intention of falling in love. Jed went on to say that everything changed when he met the Alabama native, putting him in good graces with the Bachelorette.

Unfortunately, for Jed, the drama didn't end there. Bachelor Nation began to question Jed's intentions once again when Stevens first revealed an alleged love letter Thursday between her and the aspiring musician to People.

The Nashville-native has not confirmed whether or not he wrote the note, however, it allegedly stated: "Haley, you're truly an amazing person ... Someday we will be thankful for all of this. You know where my heart will be. See you at the dock, J."

"Everything in me wants to believe that he meant everything he said and got caught up in [the show]," she told People. "I don't believe he's a terrible person, but it's a terrible situation. And part of me thinks I was the backup plan and he wanted me to be here in case it didn't work out. I feel 100 percent betrayed."

Find out what ultimately happens between Hannah and Jed when The Bachelorette airs Monday nights on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
