'Bachelorette' Alum Shawn Booth Addresses Ex-Fiancée Kaitlyn Bristowe's Romance with Jason Tartick After Split

Kaitlyn Bristowe seems to have moved on from ex-fiancé Shawn Booth as she flaunted her new romance with Jason Tartick, a fellow Bachelor Nation member who first appeared during The Bachelorette Season 14 alongside leading lady Becca Kufrin. Booth, however, isn't shying away from sharing his thoughts on Bristowe's new romance.

Booth opened up about his split with Bristowe during Sunday's upcoming episode of "Almost Famous," Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti's podcast. In doing so, the 31-year-old shared how he was processing everything.

"[I'm] trying to understand things right now. I guess this goes with her new relationship too," Booth said, according to preview clip obtained by Us Weekly on Friday. "It just kind of makes me question everything that we've had."

"I think that's one of the major questions that runs through my mind—just trying to understand that, which I think is tough to understand," he added.

While Booth isn't necessarily thrilled with Bristowe's new relationship, he had shared with Higgins and Iaconetti that he does "care about her." He also confirmed that he's "happy" following the former couple's split.

"It seems like she's moved on and she's happy. It does make me a little more comfortable knowing that she's not at home at our empty house, so I look at it from that point of view," Booth explained. "I also think that it's helping me to move on because it does hurt that much, but seeing everything, it does upset me and does make me a little angry, but it also helps me to move on knowing that maybe we weren't right for each other and that I will find somebody down the road that also makes me happy."

Bristowe and Booth first met on The Bachelorette Season 11 in 2015, remembered for its bizarre launch where the male suitors picked between Bristowe or Britt Nilsson to serve as the show's leading lady. (As everyone now knows, Bristowe was selected as the Bachelorette.) By the time the final rose ceremony arrived, she rejected Nick Viall's proposal in order to pursue things further with Booth. The couple was engaged by the finale's end.

In November 2018, Bristowe and Booth called off their three-year engagement. They released a joint statement announcing their separation via People.

"After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways," the statement via People read. "This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we're very much committed to remaining friends and we will continue to support each other."

Bristowe, 33, started dating Tartick, 30, earlier this year after months of speculation from Bachelor Nation devotees who suspected they were an item. The pair had exchanged multiple flirty messages across Instagram, but what sealed the deal was Tartick's appearance with fellow Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann on Bristowe's podcast, "Off the Vine."

During a January 8 episode of "Off the Vine," Bristowe asked Tartick when he planned on asking her out on a date. Tartick immediately expressed interest in doing so, saying: "I mean, we're both going to be in the same city at the same time. I see no reason why we shouldn't go to dinner and grab drinks. What do you think?"

Bristowe, for her part, said she was "all in." As of January 16, Bristowe has referred to Tartick as her "boyfriend."
