Barack Obama Shares His Favourite Songs, Books and Films of 2021

Former President Barack Obama took to Instagram to let his followers know what his favourite songs, films and books were through 2021.

On Thursday December 16, he uploaded a list of 13 books and the post has already been liked over 380,000 times.

He added the caption: "Over the next few days, I'll share my annual list of favorite books, music and movies.

"Art always sustains and nourishes the soul. But for me, music and storytelling felt especially urgent during this pandemic year - a way to connect when we were cooped up.

"Since these are works I have actually listened to, watched or read, I'm sure I've missed some worthy stuff.

"So if you have your own recommendations to share, I'll add them to the stack of books and movies I hope to catch up on over the holiday.

"I'll start by sharing some of the books that I read this year that left a lasting impression, and I'm excited to share my favorite movies and music in the days to come."

Obama's full list can be viewed here on his Instagram page.

The list included titles such as The Final Revival of Opal & Nev by Dawnie Walton, Aftershocks by Nadia Owusu, The invisible child: Poverty, survival & hope in an American city by Andrea Elliot, and Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.
