Actor Jennifer Garner was honored with a star along Hollywood's Walk of Fame on Monday. Her famous friends Judy Greer, Steve Carrell and Bryan Cranston were in attendance for the ceremony. Garner's former spouse Ben Affleck, however, was absent.

The Walk of Fame was created by E. M. Stuart in 1953. Stuart aimed for the now popular tourist attraction to "maintain the glory of a community whose name means glamour and excitement in the four corners of the world," according to the Hollywood Walk of Fame's official website. Since 1953, roughly 24 induction ceremonies have been held annually.

Many gathered onto Hollywood Boulevard to witness Garner, 46, make history upon receiving the 2,641st star. Garner and Affleck's children—Samuel, Seraphina and Violet—made a rare public appearance for the occasion as well. Despite Affleck's missing presence at his ex-wife's ceremony, Garner was in high spirits about the recognition.

"For this unexpected honor, I have to thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce the walk of fame in these stars are their doing. So thank you for those beautiful introductory remarks, which I know my father deeply appreciated and my mother might have believed," Garner said in her speech. "Thank you to Steve and to Judy and to Bryan. Thank you so much after so many years working in this community. I couldn't ask for better friends than the three of you."

Garner thanked her children, but she additionally said she appreciated her niece and nephew's attendance since they missed their first day of school to do so. She thanked her parents as well, saying: "It was your nonjudgmental, infinitely loving acceptance of me and whatever I hoped for myself that made this possible. Thank you for caring more about who my sisters and I are than what we do."

A possibility for Affleck's absence could be attributed to the tabloid drama centered around his love life. On Monday, news broke that Affleck and Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus called it quits. The former couple, who haven't been seen together since July, had dated for more than a year.

Despite Affleck's split with Shookus, the Justice League actor has been spotted with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton. These sightings have naturally sparked dating rumors between the two.

In May, Sexton revealed to Playboy what she looks for in a significant other. "I want someone who's able to compromise but doesn't sell himself short," the Playmate said. "I appreciate people who are the truest forms of themselves and brutally honest about who they are."

At the time, she shared she was not dating. She explained how she valued a man with a strong sense of humor, saying: "Humor is so important. I need someone who can keep up with my sarcasm or it's just not going to work."
