Best Election Day Memes From The Rest of the World

As Americans vote on Election Day, the rest of the world is watching on with baited breath, waiting to see who the U.S. will choose as their next president.

President Donald Trump and former vice president Joe Biden have been campaigning for months in a tense run-up to election day, and while the U.S. can influence today's decision by heading out and voting, everyone else can simply look on.

Some international Twitter users have been celebrating election day sharing memes that encapsulate the experience of watching from afar, with many suggesting that the rest of the world is praying that the U.S. does not make the wrong decision, while others feel like they are simply watching a car crash.

One Twitter user shared a meme from The Simpsons that sees Homer wearing a red 'Make America Great Again' hat considering which button to press, representing the U.S., while his co-workers watch from the doorway, saying: "Get ready, everybody. They're about to do something stupid," representing the rest of the world worrying that the U.S. will re-elect Trump.

We're all counting on you," from a scene in which the pilot is pouring with sweat, trying to stop the plane from crashing on the runway as frantic people in the airport sprint to find the right gate, which keeps changing as the plane skids out of control.
