Best Target Prime Day 2020 Deals Compared to Amazon

Today marks the first day of Amazon's Prime Day—a shopping event where Amazon Prime members get exclusive deals on big brands in electronics, homeware and more.

In an attempt to compete with the technology giant, traditional retailers such as Target and Walmart have launched their own sales to try and entice customers away from Amazon. But do the deals stack up?

Newsweek compares the discounts that have caught our eye on Amazon and Target's Circle Deal Days to see who wins the battle of the brands.

At Target, the majority of top deals are on home electronics and homeware. For example, the Instant Pot (8qt) Duo Crisp Combo Electric Pressure Cooker Air Fryer is reduced to $129.99, saving $50.

However, Amazon is offering its Prime members up to 58 percent off its Instantpots. The Instant Pot Duo Crisp Pressure Cooker 11 in 1 with Air Fryer (8qt) is discounted by 33 percent, costing $199.99.

When it comes to cooking accessories, Target seems to steal the show. It has a T-Fal 20 piece Cookware set in black reduced to $69.99 from $99.99. However Amazon Prime only offers one-piece for $28.85—though there is still a saving of 48 percent so it's not all bad.

French fries fans are well catered for by the brands. Amazon Prime has an Ultrean Air Fryer (4 Liter) Electric Hot Air Fryer Oven Oilless Cooker for $75.99 which is 38 percent off the original price. It has an LCD digital screen and is non-stick. It also comes with one year's worth of warranty.

Target is offering the PowerXL Vortex Air Fryer (3qt) in black at $59.99, which is 40 percent off the original price.

Coffee lovers can also get a steal from Amazon Prime and Target.

At Target, the Keurig K-Mini Basic Jonathan Adler Limited Edition single-service K-Cup pod coffee maker, which is in white, has 30 percent off until the end of today. This means that it is $69.99, reduced from $99.99. However, if you're more of a coffee filter person, it also sells the Mr. Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker, in black, for $19.99—this is 33 percent off from the regular price. This appliance allows you to brew now and brew later, which is perfect for the early mornings.

Amazon Prime doesn't have such substantial savings when it comes to coffee makers. The Sboly single-serve coffee maker brewer for K-Cup pods and ground coffee is only discounted by 20 percent to $47.16.

However, in the battle of the breakfasts, Amazon Prime comes out on top. It has the Dash Deluxe Sous Vide Style egg bite maker with silicone molds bundled with the Aqua and Rapid egg cooker. Together, they are priced at $49.98. Target has the Dash egg bite maker for $17.99, saving 10 percent, but doesn't bundle up with an egg cooker.
