Biden Makes Choices, Americans Suffer | Opinion

The things happening in our country that we bemoan aren't just happening. They are a direct result of Joe Biden's intentional choices.

Thousands of Haitians without so much as a COVID test are being released into the United States. Thousands more were encamped under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. This overwhelming influx of migrants over the border who claim to be asylum seekers straight from Haiti (as they discard Chilean and Brazilian ID cards) is not mere happenstance.

The border crisis—which threatens our national security, our sovereignty and our safety—isn't just happening. It's happening as a direct result of Biden's choice to suspend the Remain in Mexico policy, Biden's initial reluctance to enforce Title 42 (which allows CBP to expel migrants who come from countries rife with infectious disease like COVID) and Biden's open invitation to migrants.

Biden is directly responsible for the border crisis, and his administration knows it. Why else would Vice President Kamala Harris, Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas spread lies about Border Patrol agents, falsely claiming they were using whips on Haitian migrants? It's not because they're too stupid to know the difference between whips and reins. Anyone can see for themselves that the agents were twirling the reins to prevent migrants from coming near the horses. No, the reality of the situation is that White House officials are desperate for a distraction so the American people don't realize the full extent of the crisis they've created at the border—a crisis of security, sovereignty and safety that exists exclusively because of Biden's deliberate choices.

Likewise, the shortage of health care workers across the country isn't just happening. Urgent care facilities are shutting down. ER wait times are growing longer by the day. A labor and delivery ward in New York is halting its services. Shortages and shutdowns are throwing the American people into a health care crisis due to the unscientific guidance coming from Biden's CDC. Unfortunately, this crisis will only be made worse by Biden's obviously unconstitutional vaccine mandates—another one of his deliberate choices.

Additionally, 83 percent of Americans are concerned about inflation in our country. The rising costs of goods and services isn't just happening. It's happening as a direct result of Biden's outrageous and irresponsible spending. In other words, it doesn't have to happen to us. Joe Biden is deliberately choosing this outcome.

And Biden's choices aren't just destructive domestically.

The Taliban recently told women in Kabul to go home and stay home from work. New rules in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan declare that women are no longer needed to staff the municipal government. Men will be filling those positions.

The subjugation of Afghan women isn't arbitrary. It isn't just happening. It's happening as a direct result of Biden's choice to turn over Afghanistan to the Taliban. We didn't just happen to lose the war—Biden offered it up on a silver platter.

The suicide attack that killed 13 U.S. service members and dozens of Afghan civilians last month may not have just happened either. Indian intelligence sources have alleged that the Islamic State killer was released from Bagram prison on August 15 as a direct result of Biden's choice to abandon Bagram Air Base.

Our nation feels as divided as it's ever been. Not all of that division can be pinned on Biden, but when the president of the United States addresses the nation on national television and deliberately demonizes 80 million Americans, then yes, Biden bears a tremendous amount of blame for the bitter divide among us.

The things "happening" in our nation—the things we are all so horrified by—aren't just happenstance. They are all direct results of the president's choices, and, ultimately, the choice our country made last November.
