'Big Brother' Season 23: When is the First Eviction of 2021?

Big Brother season 23 began earlier in July, with the 16 houseguests entering the BB Beach Club for a season that will offer what CBS calls "big risks and big rewards." Frenchie was made the first Head of Household in the live premiere, and on the first Sunday show he nominated Alyssa and Kyland for the show's first eviction—though this was before the first power of veto ceremony.

When is the first Big Brother eviction of 2021?

Big Brother season 23 is airing three episodes a week from now on on CBS—on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The episodes are set to be scheduled as following. Sundays will see the houseguests competing to be the next Head of Household. This year's season will be slightly different, as the contestants are competing in teams—and whoever becomes HOH also wins safety for their entire team.

On Wednesdays, meanwhile, CBS viewers will get to see the two people the HOH has nominated, and also see whether any vetoes are made. In a big change for this year, Wednesday will also see the wild card competition that sees at least one houseguest win safety—and possibly a number of other contestants.

That means that Thursday will be the date for live evictions. Julie Chen Moonves will be welcoming the first houseguest out of the BB Beach Club during the first eviction on Thursday, July 18 at 8 p.m. ET / CT.

For that first eviction, the houseguests will have to choose between Alyssa and Travis. Though Frenchie nominated Alyssa and Kyland, Derek X won the veto competition and vetoed Kyland.

This brought to an end a messy week for Frenchie, whose plan to backdoor Derek X was ruined by Derek winning the Power of Veto.

Per Gold Derby's predictions, Travis is the favorite to be evicted in the live eliminations, with current odds of 18/5.

As for who will win, the current favorite is Frenchie. This is likely due to the power of being the first HOH increasing in recent years, as the role makes the houseguest a power player early on. Recent first Heads of Household who have gone on to win include last year's winner Cody Calafiore and season 18's Nicole Franzel.

Big Brother season 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on CBS. The live feeds are streaming now on Paramount+.
