The Big Leap is a drama featuring an ensemble cast of people looking for second chances in chasing their dreams of being on the stage. The storyline is inspired by a British reality series but has been dramatized for the new Fox show.

If you're intrigued by the premise you won't have to wait until it's on television next week, or you can dive right in online now. For those who need further convincing, read on to find out everything you need to know about upcoming series, The Big Leap.

What is The Big Leap about?

The Big Leap is about a group of different people at various impasses in their lives, looking for a second chance. Each of them audition for a new reality show called "The Big Leap," which is looking for a group of diverse and talented performers.

Throughout the series, the director of the reality show is looking to draw upon the drama in each of their lives, and will have a camera crew follow them around to help build the drama for this on-screen series.

The concept is based off of a 2014 British reality show called Big Ballet which was narrated by Oscar-winner Olivia Colman. It followed a group of amateur dancers as they realized their dream of performing "Swan Lake". Within the series the dancers, many with no previous ballet experience, had to continue to rehearse for the show while also juggling their home and work lives.
